These are the extra special personal interactions that keep me watching this content, this type of content and those who create it. Petter and Steve define what online influencers should really be about - sharing the thoughts, feelings and experiences of the genuinely gifted. Big shout to Steve's (former?) boss and owner of that beautiful TBM for being kind enough to allow us on board so much over the past few years.
I don’t usually comment on videos, but I wanted to give you a special thanks. I used to watch your videos at work during lunch, or I’d have one playing in a window on my secondary monitor if I had some CAD work to do (don’t know why exactly, but I found that I can still concentrate reasonably well on design work while listening to classical music or aviation vlogs... everything else is a big distraction.) I think It was the ones where you were flying to the Caribbean that really got the hooks in me, so I finally decided to stop daydreaming about it, go down to the local airport and earn my pilots license. I was 58 at the time and I remember my wife giving me the, “I want to support you, but are sure this is a good idea?” look ; ) I’m not going to lie, it was harder than I thought it would be, and I didn’t think It was going to be easy. Your videos gave me confidence, and inspiration to keep going. In particular your flight to some small island and landing in a super strong, gusty crosswind commenting that it was nothing for the local pilots who flew down there all the time. I’m sixty now, working on my instrument rating, have made some awesome new friends through a flightclub I joined (we fly an old piper warrior so no TBMs for now ; ) Without your inspiration at just the right time I’d still just be daydreaming about it, or worse, just given up on the dream and let it die with all my other high minded plans. Thanks Steve, Keep the blue side up.
For the record, you Steve and TBM N851TB are the reason I decided to take flight lessons and became a pilot, so BIG THANK YOU and to 1TB we are gonna miss you two together… but at the same time I can’t wait to see what’s ahead for you buddy! So “new season, new level, new friends!” It’s part of life! See youuuuuuuuuu
can i ask something? i know some people are more well-off than others, but how does one even pay for flight training? i’ve spoken to a few flight schools in the past couple weeks and even a few lessons are completely unattainable for me
@@yammmit Unfortunately it's very expensive. Depending on how many hours it takes to get to your checkride, it can be $20,000 or more to get a PPL. You can finance it just make sure you know what that means for budgeting.
@@yammmit Commercial training is a lot more expensive than private, but there are companies that will pay for your training in exchange for you agreeing to work for them for X number of years. Might be worth it to contact airlines and charter companies to see if anything like that is available. In addition, since flight school is, after all, a _school,_ there are scholarships available.
@@yammmitFrom everything I’ve read and seen, the commercial airline industry is desperate for pilots. I have to believe this will open up some creative ways to get the necessary training. Perhaps even student loans similar to those available for colleges are an option or might become so in the not too distant future. I’m a retired baby boomer and know that many of the commercial pilots of my generation got their training by joining the military. However, unless something has changed, you need a 4-year degree to fly in the Air Force, Navy, and Marines. I’m not sure about the Army’s requirement for rotor aircraft. If you really want to do this, make it an unshakable goal and start researching. I always wanted to be a pilot but unfortunately my nearsightedness disqualified me from military or commercial acceptance, as there was no such thing as laser eye surgery way back then. Lol. Good luck!
Long time "listener" and viewer. I can definitely feel your emotions while describing true love for both the aircraft and your career. Hang in there Steveo, this will not be the last time you share your passion with us.
You've been quite the ambassador for Daher-Socatta aviation products obviously, but also for Southern Florida and in particular, Opa Locka, Fort Lauderdale Executive and Pompano Airpark and the surrounding communities that you've flown over. Many of the viewers knew little about the TBM product line or 850, but now they certainly do. Same thing with the airfields and FBOs your job took you to. We are all indebted to you for the insights you've shared over the last 10 years. Your earnestness, candor and no-nonsense attitude and narratives are much appreciated. You've also exposed us to a number of interesting people over the years. There are many video bloggers on this medium that use aviation as their platform for broadcasting and letting the viewer into an aspect of their private lives......know that many of us are extremely appreciative of the time, effort, and dedication associated with your videos and with letting us share a bit of your life experiences. Take care, Steveo, and best of luck in the future.
I can easily share your emotion, I was also crying when I left my beloved N831T a few years ago. I'll wait now for your new aventures with a new plane, and I wish you the best for this Hervé from France
New owners are getting a well cared for airplane. The pride you take in greasing a perfect landing was always evident. Super excited to see where your flying career takes you next!
Sad when chapters in life close sometimes, but exciting when new chapters start and I have no doubt you will bounce back better and stronger than ever. Will enjoy continuing to follow along ...
Holy smokes Steve!! I've been a fan of yours for years now, I know how much you and that beautiful turboprop know one another, how she loves you as much as you love her.. I'm so sorry for your loss, but remember the wind coming from the door closing behind you is what opens the door ahead of you! I saw this on my phone, totally missed this drop 2 days ago.. thanks so much for all the fun and I sure hope we get to fly with you again!! I'm only 1:55 into the video so hopefully there's a silver lining in this cloud! Edit: Man, it feels like you're losing an old friend.. I have the feeling like I have had before why my dog has passed to the other side.. man, just the sound of your voice and the look on your face. It'll be ok Steve, on to bigger and better things! Your old boss took care of you, I'm sure of it, you have one of the greatest careers in life today, enjoy a little time off with your friends and family, and maybe get your ticket for the next plane you'll be flying, maybe the 950? haha awesome man thank you so much for all the great videos!
Who ever hires you will be very fortunate to have you Steve. It's hard letting go of something we love. We can hear it in your voice, and many of us have been there brother. Looking forward to your new adventure.
Steve, its clear you’re cut up about it as you rightly should. I’m facing a similar set of circumstances and have to remind myself of all the good times, and the things I’ve achieved. Take a little time to move on, and be gentle on yourself. I’ve followed you for years and I’ve loved learning watching your professionalism and passion for flying. Thank you 🙏. I’m sure you’re next step will be full of new experiences and learning! ❤
Man Steve, sad to see N851TB go! I’m glad to hear that your next employer is going to be as cool as this one was with you filming in whatever aircraft you’ll be flying. Best of luck in that and hopefully you can keep up the great content!
Wow, your emotion sure shows! and for great reason. Thank you for letting us be a part of the N851TB family! It was a hell of a ride, and I personally can't wait for what's next! Thank you, Stevo!
Steveo, I could hear it in your voice, I know this video was hard for you to record. I am not a pilot; I've never even flown in a small plane. However, I was glued to every single video of yours over the years. I look forward to your next adventures. We all wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Thanks for sharing this part of your life with your subscribers.
It is a sad day Steveo, however change is what life is all about. It's how you handle that change that makes all the difference. You are a professional in every way on and off the job. You can pretty much design whatever future you desire. This time of change is not a problem, but an opportunity. You did your work here and did it well and now you are free to expand your horizons. I do want to thank you very sincerely for your body work here on youtube. I have enjoyed riding along with you and the contribution you have made to the aviation community is more than a lot of us can claim. Best of luck to you, Sir.
I've been watching you for years, and it's sad that I'll never hear you say November 851 tango bravo again 😢. I loved your videos! My favorite thing was whenever you would identify yourself over the radio, someone would recognize you and shout out "Steve-o im a big fan!" That was always so cool😎. I'm gonna miss the TBM but I'm excited to see what's next. I'll be here watching and waiting with anticipation. Good luck Steve-O thank you for the adventures in the TBM! 👏🏼🙏🏻💙 ✈️
You’re a credit to the aviation community, Steveo. Keep your head up, a new door open, a new opportunity on the horizon. Thank you for sharing your adventures in 1TB with us all. Onwards and upwards!! Keep moving forward.
Steve, we have been following you for the past 5 years. We will continue too follow you when you have your assignment. Until then we wish you the very best as you have brought us the best during your flight episodes.take care God bless.
You're one of the precious few pilots in a single engined aircraft that I would fly as a passenger with, any time, any where. It's been a fantastic ride.
I started watching your TH-cam channel when I was working on my private pilots license. I’m now flying a challenger 350 at the largest corporate aviation company in world and I still love your videos. Best of luck on your new chapter, thank you to 851TB for all the memories!
I would think anybody who owns an exec aircraft that needs a pilot and who has seen your videos would be jumping at an opportunity to hire you. You have a great catalog demonstrating your skills, training, attention to detail, and airmanship. Good luck, Steve! 👍👍👍
This is all part of the journey brother! Ive been in your shoes 5 times now in 22 years. Everytime it happened, I stressed over the unknown of what might happen. The last two times, I took comfort from my fellow Avgeeks and thought of the advice id give any of them.. -keep your head up because all things happen for a reason and it always works out. I took my own advice and now at the top of my career and very content where the journey has brought me. Im pumped for the next chapter for you and cant wait to see a new bird on the channel!
Absolutely iconic aircraft made famous by you Stevo. 1TB will belong to the aviation community forever thanks to this channel and I can be sure your audience is right there with you on how this must make you feel. Can’t wait to see what’s next and thanks for everything so far.
I recall watching the "bullet hole" episode. How smart you were to check the top of the fuselage. You have your freedom now to move onto the next flying chapter. All the best.
There are two kinds of jobs (and customers) Steve-- those you've lost and those you will loose. You are an extremely talented and competent pilot. You are one of the best content creators on TH-cam. You have brought an enormous amount of valuable and educational information to your subscribers in particular and the aviation community in general. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this fork in the road of your career. As the late and great Yogi Berra famously said, "When you come to a fork in the road, take it!" We'll all be waiting for your next take off pal!
You're the GOAT and a pioneer of aviation YT content - you've inspired countless others to pursue aviation. We'll miss the TBM but we know it's for a good reason - cycles and seasons are times for growth buddy!
I'm not a pilot, but I've found your content entertaining and fascinating for a few years. That's a testament to you're ability as a pilot and a content creator. I'm excited to see the next chapter in your career especially since I went through a very similar situation in '20 and '21.
I can tell this was a difficult video to film, Steve, and really a bit of a shock to me too. But life goes on and I'll follow you wherever you're allowed to take us! Good luck on your next ride!
I’m a flying tragic, Steve. I grew up always wanting to be a pilot here in Australia, but finances and what ended up being my career as a science teacher for 46 years precluded all of that. I should have pursued my dream but I didn’t. Now at age seventy, your videos in particular have given me a window into what it is like to fly a modern aircraft. I particularly love your commentary on every aspect of what you are doing and I look forward expectantly to the next episode in your life. Great work my friend.
Demand for pilots now is high, but not when I was flying. I'm 81 and lived on poverty wages while flying ME engine Charter. Fortunately, I lost my medical and was forced into a paying job. Fun while it lasted though. Didn't mind all that much being poor. Still, I think someone was looking after me. Got married and raised two beautiful and successful daughters.
I'd like to apply to this geezer's consortium! Sixty seven here, solo'd in '79 and then my little local uncontrolled strip closed. Bummer! I even took a ground school at a bonafide airport but the hourly cost was much more expensive than I could afford as a working 20-year-old. Steve and a couple of the other fantastic You Tube Top Guns have been an absolute gift - Vicarious Blue Yonder! Thank you, Steve, and like everybody, I'm eager to learn what's next!
Sir, reading your situation is an inspiration to me because my situation is similar. I've wanted to fly since I was a tike and just couldn't ever afford it and couldn't borrow the money to do it. I also let time get away but fortunately I am now near 40 and i'm going to pursue this lifelong dream. Sometimes I feel too old to be having a midlife change in career particularly where I have been fairly successful in what I was doing. You should at least go fly for fun if you can find a way to make that happen it would be great!
Thank you for all the enjoyment we have had watching your videos. My son, who is not a pilot (yet), also enjoys watching and one of the highlights of his trip to Oshkosh 22 was meeting you. Thank you for having a positive impact on my kid. Good Luck on your future endeavor and God Bless.
Steve, you were the first flight vlogger I subscribed to on TH-cam in early 2016. Watching you made me feel like I was back in the cockpit with my dad, the way you talk to us as you run through your checklists and start her up. Your content with 851TB is still my favorite and it breaks my heart that both you and us have to say goodbye to such a special bird such as 851TB. You're a good man and she's a good plane and you two had chemistry. I'm sad to see that end as you are. I'll be right here looking forward to what's next. But for today, cheers to a special airplane.
Well that’s sad to hear Steve, I can imagine and see you feel emotional. Want you to know I really appreciate all your films on TH-cam. Your enthusiasm, kindness, flying and editing skills are so nice to see. I wish you all the best and I am confident you will embark on yet another great adventure where we, hopefully, can be a part of again. For now I wish you strength to proces this sad news but also trust and faith in the future. Greetings from a former pilot of a tiny MLA Dynamic WT 9 in the Netherlands.
I’ve been watching you since before I was a student pilot. As an airline pilot now, I really appreciate all your great content you’ve posted over the years! Fly safe.
Hang in there Sunshine! After 40 years in aviation, you just put another hat on and keep going! Aviation, companies always going broke, getting bought out, mergers, etc! There are no guarantee's! My retired buddy of mine was the ONLY person I have ever known to be with the same company his entire career! You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than to stay with one company your entire career! You will do fine, this is just a bump in the road! I've watched your channel because I've always dreamed of winning the Lottery, first thing I would buy is a brand new TBM and their newest model! So you were living my dream! Be grateful for the experience!
Steve, you're an excellent pilot and an excellent communicator and ambassador for profession aviation. Thank you for sharing this transition with us; it's a painful time, but I'm grateful you are committed to sharing your journey: the highs and the lows.
Been a massive fan of yours for about 3 years, Steve. Your channel is the best aviation channel on youtube! I know you'll continue flying and making sure we are buckled up with you! The next aircraft you make home will continue your amazing adventure through the sky! We all look forward to when you get going again! This is an emotional time for you and frankly, all of us!! We have been on this adventure with you since you let us into the cockpit!! You have some great opportunities ahead of you still! Please remember to bring us along when you get there!! Take care, Steve!
Dude with your skills, personality and professionalism the sky is the limit for you my friend. I can't wait to hear about you new gig and whenever it happens myself and thousands more will be here for you.
Sad to see 851TB go…you’ve helped to inspire me. Your channel was one of the first channels I began following years ago. I’ve since earned my PPL this year and am now working on my instrument rating. Looking forward to your next chapter and continuing to follow along on your adventures!
N851TB - That is a call sign I don't think I will forget. Thanks for taking us with you on the TBM. Looking forward to the next chapter. Wishing you the best of luck!
That is sad news about your job and your friend the TBM Steve. I know you'll miss her and the great and not so great times you've been having together. I know you have some great memories of your adventures. Thank you for all the videos though. It's been a pleasure following your channel. I look forward to seeing your new job and how you'll adjust to and enjoy it. Best of luck with your new adventures. Stay safe and happy flying everyone
What a coincidence! You said you appreciate us….well, getting to know you has been a big blessing for us, too. You’ve shared a lot of yourself with us and it is much appreciated. Thank you! Looking forward to the next chapter.
Wow. As a Captain at a major, I can say easily you’re N815TB was my N1114N….! it’s been 25 years since I’ve flown that airplane but watching your emotions talking about that airplane brought that tail number back to me… I flew freight in that airplane for the better part of two years. 😊 Cheers friend and good luck on your new adventures 😊. Signed, new subscriber
So sad…. I’m a 68 year old with my private ticket that hasn’t flown since around 2003 and am still so much into aviation…. So much that I have now worked at MQS since I retired from the VA in 2011. I always look forward to your videos that are both informative and just down right fun to watch…. Can’t wait for your next adventure to begin. Thank you for sharing your career with all of us. Till then, take care!!!
Good luck, Steve! I never owned an airplane, but I owned a sailboat for many years. I spent many hours on her and got to know her really well. A lot of my sailing with solo, but also got to bring friends and family out. You develop a real relationship with your boat, and the day I had the seller was a sad one. So I kind of know how you feel a little. Really looking forward to what’s coming next. Been following you for years and I’ve enjoyed your videos many many times. Looking forward to the next ones!
You are one of the most magnificent pilots to walk the planet and you’ll be back up in no time. Thanks for everything you’ve included your audience in.
Sorry to hear this Stevo. I can feel the pain in your voice. You are such an excellent pilot and an all around great guy, that I am sure you will land something easily to continue your career. Good Luck in your new endeavor!!! Take Care!!!
Hey Steve, thank you so much for sharing your video about the sale of one of your best friends (851TB) and announcing your next adventure. I can only imagine what it felt like when you received the news that this relationship would end. As a private pilot I have a know a little bit of how you must feel when one day I saw the plane I soloed in, in a sad state of disrepair. However that doesn't compare with ending a relationship that's been part of your life for over a decade. It's ironic how you announced your news during the TBM 850 annual. The irony is the bad news and the good news. Just like the TBM annual, being torn apart, analyzed from head to toe, checking all critical parts that are needed to make the whole aircraft flight worthy, adjusted, repaired, improved and re-assembled better than new, you too are going through the same phase, torn apart, assessing, re-assembling and coming out better than new. You got this Steve and we all look forward to sharing in your next adventures. Fly high and in the radar! (Roy)
Could feel that emotion, best of luck to you in your next endeavors and look forward to coming along with you! Thanks for all the work you put in on the TBM videos!!!
Steveo, your emotion was evident. I've loved following your adventures in the TBM, and look forward to hearing, and following, your next, even better, chapter!
End of an era. I can really hear the emotions in your voice. I look forward to seeing what's next for you. Take care and thankyou for allowing us to follow along.
The end to a marvelous chapter. I've been watching your flight vlogs for 10 years now, and because of you sharing your experiences, I'm happy to say I've found myself within a career in aviation. Thank you for your work and I look forward to the next chapter!
So sorry to hear you are moving on from Tango Bravo. It is evident that it is emotional for you to part with a great aircraft that introduced you to us humble members of the public. Delighted that you have a new job and that you will be continuing to upload your FLOGS. You are a credit to your profession and long may your FLOGS continue Steve. Best of luck from Ireland. 🍀🍀
Part of my pursuit in becoming a private pilot is credited to how you've shared your love of aviation with the rest of us. Thank you for the years of quality entertainment and we're all looking forward to many more Steve!
Sorry for this door to be closing, but I’m glad you have the next opportunity lined up. I’ve received my private pilot certificate since I started watching your videos, and you were definitely part of my motivation to go get it done! Good luck and hope to see more videos in the future!
Steve to be honest brother I am glad your job with this airplane is over. Over the years with the videos showing the problems you have had with this plane putting your life in danger it’s not worth it. You are a very professional pilot and I know where ever you go you will be a great asset to any company you decide to go to work for. God bless you brother and thank you for keeping us informed on your situation and looking forward to a great and productive future for you in aviation!
Can't thank you enough Steveo for being a great aviation ambassador! Your videos have helped me out a lot with my flying. I'm looking forward to seeing what's next for you.
I dont think anything has been more unique than watching you in the TBM. There was something really special in your videos. Wish you the best in your next endeavors❤
Steve sorry to hear the news. I also have grown fond of 1TB as I was able to ride in her for 4 amazing flights with you. Thank you for the opportunity. I will miss her being in the hangar. I know you will do great in your next endeavor and I look forward to seeing what is coming next.
As a longtime subscriber, I'v appreciated you bringing us along with you. The high production value of your videos along with your excellent explanations and descriptions set your channel apart. Thank you. Looking forward to tagging along on your next gig.
What a sad day. I had fun flying with you and 851TB over the years. I am glad you have a new job on the way. I worked for 42 years in aviation and I always enjoyed your videos. Good luck to you. I will miss this TBM.
Good luck to you, Steve. It was sad for me to retire from the Navy and stop flying the SH-60B Seahawk back some years ago, but you’re right about new adventures. I fly GA for fun now. Looking forward to seeing and hearing about your new job.
Hey Steveo, I know you have new things coming up, but let me pause once and say thank you for all these years of fun. I started listening (yeah, more listening than watching I say,) your in flight comm and commentary while I work at my desk. There weren’t channel like you back then, as a newish pilot, I really enjoyed flying along in the cockpit with professional like you. I am a better pilot now because of that. Then you get to the destination safely, and I felt like all my boring desk work was going to be all right as well. I’ll be honest, I miss all the Bahamas flight. (Too bad what happened) Anyway, thank you, and looking forward to your new adventure.
I can tell how emotional this must be but the end of one adventure allows space for a new adventure. It has been a real pleasure sharing your flights and learning from your experience/s, thank you and good luck on your next journey!
Best wishes Steveo! I'm looking forward to your next chapter. As a former private pilot and aviation enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed your videos as they brought back lots of memories.
It's been a rewarding and educational experience flying with you aboard the TBM Steve-O, and I'm sad it's ending. But when God closes one door he opens another! Cheers, I'll be watching for news in the future!
Know the feeling, Steve. Lost my job flying the same news helicopter for 17 years. That was 10 years ago and have never recouped my career. Best thing, get right back on the horse and don't look back. You'll be fine..Peace..
Stevo! I concur with everyone here. You have been such a blessing to me over these years. Absolutely love how on every trip you walk us thru the start up procedures. My daughter just took her Discovery Flight this morning. Your channel is one that I insist that she watch, learn and be discipled. Any wait for the new news and the adventures to continue. Blue Up-Green Down!
In all due respect, she should not watch somebody on the verge of crying when he just lost his job...and is 100% certain to find another one soon...Really not a good example for your kid...Not the way to build a great future for her...Tell her instead it's a jungle out there and fight her way...Come on dad...You can do better. Really disappointed with Steveo...Really thought he was more mature...And come on, telling us the airplane almost killed him...because the landing gear refused to deploy and the problem was solved 5 minutes later by hand pumping...If you want role models in aviation for your daughter, tell her about the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo astronauts...not Steveo...If she wants TH-cam influencer role model, yes, Steveo is a great one.
@@1983dmd That's really unfair to hurl such invectives denty-boy. Stevo spent many years in that airplane and it is obviously very painful both to relive the countless memories he had at its helm and also to struggle with the finality that making new memories are now over. I'd rather provide support than kick him while he's down.
Well, Stevo. I know this might feel like a kick in the gut, but I’m sure you’ve got stuff waiting for ya on to bigger and better. Looking forward to see the next chapter and looking forward to riding along. You take care brother.
Steve, I've been watching your videos for years. The best thing about losing a job is the new beginnings that almost always end up being way better then where you were prior. I'm sure your new gig will be awesome and all of us here who watch your videos regularly are looking forward to seeing your new experiences. You are awesome and love the videos! Keep it up (in the sky)!
Looking forward to your new job and the adventures that come along with it. I have been with you since you flew the Caravan to the Bahamas a great destination. I guess the way life works it was meant to be and it is always for the better. Good luck Steveo.
I for one, sure have enjoyed riding along in the right seat with you Steve. I'm not a pilot, but you sure have taught my a lot just be the conversation you have in the cockpit explaining all you do while behind the yoke of 851TB. Hopefully, you'll be back in the cockpit and back on "the air" soon, taking us along for the ride. 💙✈😎
What a crazy thing to think about Steve. I first remember watching your videos when I was in flight training back in 2017, and you, alongside with the likes of Flight Chops and others helped motivate me to become a better student and professional pilot. I thought you would be happy to hear that I have now been working as a flight instructor for four years, and gone up through the ranks to the highest instructor grade here in Australia, and recently completed my multi engine rating. What a rewarding career it has been so far, and I am forever thankful for your videos and insights. I can't wait to see whats next for the both of us! Best wishes mate.
Best wishes for the next Big Adventure! It is always fun and exciting to fly new types and go trough the learning curve, these changes are the events that makes us grow as a person and in a professional level, and drive us to always be better, to learn and to fly safer, although we are all going to miss N851TB, it's and always will be a part of the family! Now, eyes on the future and safe flights Steve! Big hug!
bittersweet and heartfelt my friend. We will be sad to see 1TB move on. We are very fortunate to still have you. Looking forward to the next adventure Steve. We will be here with you.
I am unable to get my pilots license because of medical reasons, but your videos have allowed me the opportunity to become a better and more confident virtual pilot in FS2020. I learn so much, especially about the TBM, watching your videos. Can't wait for the next chapter!
Change is inevitable Steve. But it is still sad and I can sense from this video your special relationship with N851TB. Thank you for all of your extraordinary videos and sharing your love of flying. Your passion and professionalism is inspiring. Best of luck on your next opportunity and we are all looking forward to the next chapter!
Steve, as a non pilot I have enjoyed every flight we have flown with you and N851TB. Glad to hear that your new employers will allow you to take us along. Can’t wait to see what you’re going to be piloting and for us to learn a new call sign. Hopefully, it will start with an N 👍🇺🇸
Steve thank you so much for the many years of flight vlogs from N851TB. It was such a great learning experience for me. Your professionalism and top notch airmanship is second to none!!! While it is sad news, just remember that in life we’re not meant to be stagnant we must keep moving and here is your next opportunity to do so. You’re about to begin a new chapter in your life and aviation career and I wish you all the best and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for you and for your vlog!!! Congratulations Steve 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Rooting for you, Steve! I know I’m not alone when I say that you’ve inspired many to pursue a career in aviation. You’ve got this! Can’t wait to see what’s next for you!
A very heartfelt video. As you said… it’s a bitter, sweet departure from your “partner” the TBM. Will be looking out for more adventures with you at the command in the near future. Whoever hires you to pilot their airplane is very lucky. Best wishes for your next job! Thanks for taking us along, too 🙏
It’s hard loosing a job, especially when you’ve been there many years, but it’s usually better on the next one and it makes you grow because you will experience different tasks and you will look back and say, I’m thankful for the change!!! All the best to you Steve and thank you for all the hard work you do!!!
Great to see you again, Steveo. You have been an inspiration to many flight enthusiast, including me. Even though I'm not allowed to work towards a pilot license, due to severe side--effects from a rare form of spinal cord cancer, I can at least live the dream vicariously through great pilots like yourself. Never give up hope. Never give up the dream! I can't imagine how hard it is to leave 851TB behind. That's like leaving a great dear friend! But, I can't wait to see your next flying adventure. Blue skies and tailwinds!
Only those who have been in the left seat understand the bond with an aircraft. Its one of the most rewarding aspects to flying that is often overlooked when promoting the craft to new pilots. You have mastered the art. Thank you, Steve. Wishing you CAVU & Tailwinds in your next departure
Best wishes as you go on to your next chapter, Stevo! I know by the emotion in your voice, how much you deeply love what you do, how much you love that airplane, and the real significance of the chunk of your life spent with her. We’ve been there. When you must part ways with the familiar, what you’ve poured your soul into. What is certain, there are brighter skies are on the horizon for you. Much blessings to you and really looking forward to seeing you again here.
Change is never easy; the emotion is your voice relays the sadness of leaving a trusted (well, mostly) friend behind. You two have had quite the run! But onward and (literally) upward we go. Looking forward to the next chapter and the adventures that await.
Steve, your channel was the first I found on TH-cam in which pilots record flights and explain all of the procedures to your viewers. You got me hooked and I went on to find awesome channels such as Max from Citation Max and Greg from Premier One Driver. You guys are awesome and I appreciate the wealth of knowledge you share with us. I wish you the best and of course I will be following along with wherever you "land". 😁
Steveo, you have brought flight to so many of us you have been an absolutely amazing ambassador for flight, TBM, Bose, Makers Air, The Bahamas, Signature and everything else you have brought to us on this first chapter. I cannot wait to see what you get up to next but whatever it is I hope the company/owner realise what an opportunity it is to have you and the attention you can bring to them if they want it. The check 851 is going through is nothing out the ordinary but if the current owner still had it what would you be doing for work with it out the sky for so long, would they lease something else and you fly it, would you loose work for that period of time or something totally else?
Best of luck Steve! You are great so great things will come. 💕
Wow, two of the most professional pilots together in the same place!
Nice to see you here mentour pilot
You and Stevo are the best out there, and the only ones I really follow. Thank you too!
My two favorite aviation personalities; Mentour and Stevo.... Love you guys. Your inspirational contribution to aviation is absolutely fantastic...
When a door closes, another opens. I am excited for you in your journey.
That very true
Except on an airplane, where the same door opens and closes.
A wider door. Lets go Steveo.
other than that it's a pretty good beech jet
Steve, wishing you the best. You are an inspiration for many of us. Look forward to your next part of your life journey.
I don’t usually comment on videos, but I wanted to give you a special thanks.
I used to watch your videos at work during lunch, or I’d have one playing in a window on my secondary monitor if I had some CAD work to do (don’t know why exactly, but I found that I can still concentrate reasonably well on design work while listening to classical music or aviation vlogs... everything else is a big distraction.)
I think It was the ones where you were flying to the Caribbean that really got the hooks in me, so I finally decided to stop daydreaming about it, go down to the local airport and earn my pilots license.
I was 58 at the time and I remember my wife giving me the, “I want to support you, but are sure this is a good idea?” look ; )
I’m not going to lie, it was harder than I thought it would be, and I didn’t think It was going to be easy. Your videos gave me confidence, and inspiration to keep going. In particular your flight to some small island and landing in a super strong, gusty crosswind commenting that it was nothing for the local pilots who flew down there all the time.
I’m sixty now, working on my instrument rating, have made some awesome new friends through a flightclub I joined (we fly an old piper warrior so no TBMs for now ; )
Without your inspiration at just the right time I’d still just be daydreaming about it, or worse, just given up on the dream and let it die with all my other high minded plans.
Thanks Steve,
Keep the blue side up.
Can’t wait for what’s next. Thanks for all the great vids
maybe steve-o can fly some air balloons next...
Thanks bud, I enjoy your videos as well!
@@andydodson8627 If anyone is going to get a balloon up to Mach 1, it’s Steve-o
@@helixspiral I want to do commercial piloting and I have no idea how I’d ever pay for it lol
I’ll miss 1TB but I’m so excited for you! Can’t wait to see what the future holds!
I can easily share your emotion, I was also crying when I left my beloved N831T a few years ago. I'll wait now for your new aventures with a new plane, and I wish you the best for this
Hervé from France
New owners are getting a well cared for airplane. The pride you take in greasing a perfect landing was always evident. Super excited to see where your flying career takes you next!
yep no hot or hung starts lol
Sad when chapters in life close sometimes, but exciting when new chapters start and I have no doubt you will bounce back better and stronger than ever. Will enjoy continuing to follow along ...
Definitely a little scary but I am hoping the new chapter will bring lots of fun flying adventures and joy.
Yes. They’re hiring a top gun professional young man. Attention to detail 💯 %.
I will miss 851TB but probably not as much as you
Steveo, I could hear it in your voice, I know this video was hard for you to record.
Wherever you fly, we will fly with you! I can’t wait to hear all about your new job, the aircraft, and the mission.
Thanks Steve for having us along in TB, it’s been quite the honor! Here’s to Chapter 2 and clear sky’s! God Bless You!
I would think anybody who owns an exec aircraft that needs a pilot and who has seen your videos would be jumping at an opportunity to hire you. You have a great catalog demonstrating your skills, training, attention to detail, and airmanship. Good luck, Steve! 👍👍👍
Man... you're great person! Whenever you come to RIO DE JANEIRO, I'd be so glad to meet you.
That's one of the only videos besides this one that I've watched.
*lose
Loose means not tight, probably not what you meant.
Are you serious ??? Prayers.???..What for ? Where is the tragedy ??? He will be working again in 10 days. Unbelievable.
You're the GOAT and a pioneer of aviation YT content - you've inspired countless others to pursue aviation. We'll miss the TBM but we know it's for a good reason - cycles and seasons are times for growth buddy!
I wish you the best Steve I know how sad you are I can hear it in your Words BUT MY FRIEND I WILL KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYERS .
Man, 10 years in one plane. Appreciate all the journeys you’ve brought us along on. Can’t wait for the next chapter!
I'm not a pilot, but I've found your content entertaining and fascinating for a few years. That's a testament to you're ability as a pilot and a content creator. I'm excited to see the next chapter in your career especially since I went through a very similar situation in '20 and '21.
Ditto. Living my dream of flying vicariously thru channels like this.
Come out to Northern Colorado, maybe I can bum a ride…
I can tell this was a difficult video to film, Steve, and really a bit of a shock to me too. But life goes on and I'll follow you wherever you're allowed to take us! Good luck on your next ride!
Sorry the transition is hard but it's just making room for the new chapter! I can't wait to see what is next for you!
I hear you. I'm 70, did some flying in the late '70's. But was was never in the financial position to get my private pilots license. Take care!
ditto, now 65, teaching career, but at least I managed to staying in it privately, and since retirement I'm having a blast with my RV9.
Hopefully you are going to work for Daher as a sales rep and will be showing us the new TBM 960 soon!!!
N851TB - That is a call sign I don't think I will forget. Thanks for taking us with you on the TBM. Looking forward to the next chapter. Wishing you the best of luck!
Hey Steveo, I really enjoyed being your wingman for so many years in the TBM. I can't wait to see what next you have in store for us. Best wishes!
Cheers friend and good luck on your new adventures 😊. Signed, new subscriber
Steve, appreciate the update, we will miss 851TB, but we know you will land in something greater! We'll stay tuned in, God speed Mate ☺
Amen! I am 74 and gave up my ticket two years ago. No regrets but the itch is still there.
Look forward to future videos. An outstanding pilot like yourself will not be out of work for long. Keep us updated.
Can definitely tell the love you have for that aircraft. Best of luck on your next step Bud!
Thanks for your service to our country! 🙌🏼
@@1983dmd if you can't say anything nice......
@@1983dmd Who crapped in your cornflakes?
@@MaverickDMD Ohhh boy...Are you serious ?!? Seek help..... Denty-boy wishes child king a nice evening !
Estaremos esperando ansiosamente novas aventuras Steve. Boa sorte.
Only those who have been in the left seat understand the bond with an aircraft. Its one of the most rewarding aspects to flying that is often overlooked when promoting the craft to new pilots. You have mastered the art. Thank you, Steve. Wishing you CAVU & Tailwinds in your next departure
Yes, Steve is a bittersweet moment in your flying career but can't wait to see what you have in store for us!🛫
Best wishes as you go on to your next chapter, Stevo!
