I feel kind of bad because I must wholly disagree with one of your commenters that said you should see the Cleveland show. The show was an abject failure and was taken off the air back in 2013. No one watched it or at least not enough people watched it to keep it on air and I was 1 of the people who loves family guy so I of course watched multiple episodes and it really wasn't funny. So I guess that places me in the majority as far as the Cleveland show not being very well done.
There were basically 4 outstanding and successful cartoon shows. My favorite of course is Family Guy, and the other 3 are American Dad, The Simpsons, and King of the Hill. All of which were hugely successful and ran on TV for many many years.
If you'd like to try something a bit newer you should look into the cartoon series called Archer!
