  • In this video, we give a update on our weekend at the farm. Specifically how to be more efficient at feeding hay to cattle. We show how to make the cattle eat the last little bit of hay in a hay ring. We also show how to be efficient and smart by utilizing the tractor to move and handle hay rings. Specifically, carrying the hay rings with the round bales to reduce trips and manual labor. Hope you enjoy! Please subscribe (see link below.)

    Definitely going to start putting my bales out where fertilizer is most needed. Great idea and simple!

    I’ve been wanting to watch this video since it came out and I’m just now getting to it. Very good tips on feeding and awesome idea to get the cows to eat the last bit of hay. Several years back I built a farmer a big hay feeder on skids. It had a floor so the hay didn’t set on the ground. You could put 4 or 5 round bales in it. After they were gone pull the feeder into a new spot and start over.

    Great video Scott but I’m closing again by watching the Ranch Ropes advertisement. 😂 Over 36 minutes of ads for your 10 minute video, there has got to be some kind of prize for that dedication 😂

    I've been doing the same thing with my hay feedings this winter, feeding hay on top of bare/dead spots in the pasture where the grass has never grown very well and trying to spread out the nutrients as much as possible.

    • @HeritageFarmsTexas
      @HeritageFarmsTexas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here. I’m Moving across the pasture every time we feed. Trying to spread it out. Going to hit it with the harrow to spread the manure in the next couple weeks.

    I like what you are doing with the feed and would be very surprised if you didn't see better pasture where you have fed. Please give us some comparison shots next spring. Cows look great.

      Will do. Thank you. I’m looking forward to using the harrow in next couple weeks to spread manure.
