Makes me wish we had more TF shows that focused on pre/postwar Cybertron... the comics are doing good, but the worldbuilding as shown here is incredible and has a lot of potential to be on TV!

Theres no way for newer fans to get into the franchise now, you can say about the Bee movie whatever you want, it still financially bombed.
I highly disliked the Bayverse, but (for better or worse) it pulled people in at least.
How is someone who never saw Transformers supposed to become a fan ?

The shows are not the worst, but I doubt anyone is going to be interested into a show that constantly spits out names and concepts without ever explaining them.
WE as fans can understand what they are but I dont want to imagine what someone without a clue about the franchise would think.

Thank you for making so many videos summarizing the novels for us. It's a great scource for me learning about the lore and history of TFP.
But to me, the war between Autobots and Decepticons in the aligned continuity isn't fully justified. It seems that the war is due to Optimus and Megatron both being extremely power hungry and arrogant at the high concil.
If megatron just accept the decision of the high concil and let optimus lead everyone as prime, or if optimus just willingly gave up his leadership to megatron, the caste system would end without starting a war. Yet for some reason, both of them did not step back and... the war just started?
Also is the story show optimus hestating on whether the war was necessary, idk why he didn't came up with the solution of surrender the title of prime to megatron and give him a chance (before Megatron stab himself with dark energon ofc).
Maybe the full story explain it better and I should still spend 1000 dollars to buy them? D:

Thank you so much for doing these! Reading through the TFWiki is good, but it's rather dry and I find it hard to get a handle on the emotions behind the events.
Man, how sad, Megatron's initial intentions for social equality were noble, but because they were at the base of violence, the middle and upper classes were scared and didn't want to abruptly lose the privileges they had, loving the proposal of passive and slow, opening up the possibility of further corruption and perhaps even worse for the lower classes. Tragic, Tragic that everything ended in war and demanded Megatron to go completely against its message of equality.
Yeah, Megatron became the product of the circumstances he was born into. His path to darkness was almost inevitable. He became the evil that the high council created and because of that, he is in a way a victim.

I believe all this is wlith the Transformers Prime continuity. If so, I wish something could be done to make the crappy RID and Resucue Bots Academy non cannon. Cuz this crap in the books need to be presented on screen with a TFP reboot that goes deep into life before the war, during the exodus, and now life on Cybertron after Prime's gone and Cybertronians can now be produced. Would be awesome to see what happens with a rougue Megatron and maybe the emergence of new Predacons and maximals even. Maybe I'm going too far but TFP and everything surrounding it was the perfect starting point for so much more.
One of great things about Transformers is that there is multiple continuity and cannons.

Also, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but does the Covenant or any source mention anything about when Starscream was approximately created? Like, era-wise?
I mean, I already wrote a totally wrong backstory for him in Aligned because I didn't know how the Aligned past was because I didn't have the books, and I probably had him created in the wrong era anyway, but just for future reference and out of general curiosity... as a Starscream fan. XD
I actually completely made up a different past for Aligned in one of my main fics, because I didn't know what the past was like before I found your channel (and when your only analysis video was "Is Starscream Really Evil?"), but since I've already established all that wrong stuff in that universe, I don't think I can change it, but I can add things from canon to it to make it... ehhh, somewhat better. XD
The first time Starscream is mentioned existing is the Golden Age. He apparently was working with Jetfire. That may have been when he was created

Also, while low caste bots obviously were put into labor right away after creation, I wonder if mid caste and high caste bots go to school after creation, before they go into their assigned jobs?
I can imagine high caste bots might, since they probably aren't created with a knowledge for science (advanced anyway) and scientists mostly are high caste, if not always.

@@emperorkumquat I started writing my fic, "Energon Seekers" in Feburary 2020, before I found your channel, and I believe just before the pandemic became a pandemic, and before I knew that there was a longer canon past to Aligned Cybertron.
So I ended up making up my own past for Cybertron in Aligned, based on the past of the IDW comic, which includes Cold Constructed bots - which I now know is wrong, but having already established that, I don't feel like I should change it, since it is just an AU anyway.
But back then, I did decide to have Starscream created near the end of the Golden Age - since he says in Prime that he wants to bring Cybertron back to the Golden Age, so he probably knew how it was like back then and probably lived in it.
The second chapter took AGES for me to finish, simply because I was busy with other stories, and it was actually only just a couple months ago that I posted it and chapter 3, meaning I used your videos as research and built upon the new knowledge I had acquired.
I did something kinda silly in my "Energon Seekers" fic though. I had Starscream (and the other Seekers) created with basic information "installed" in their minds, but at the same time they still had to go to school to learn stuff...
I don't know why I did that. I think the first chapter got wrong because I overlooked the biology of Cybertronians and then I tried to fix it in chapter 2 but still kept the wrong stuff from chapter 1, just trying to make it VERY basic information like how to fly, how to fight, the knowledge of some of their powers (teleportation, sonic boom etc.) and certain concepts, but nothing advanced like science or economics or linguistics or art or stuff like that.
Now though, I think I'll do so that instead of having information "installed" in their minds, that instead they have gained the brains and organs of already existing bots (now dead), into a pre-constructed Protoform (Seeker body, similar to clone Protoforms except these have finished shapes) and then given a Spark forced into the world through the Matrix rather than the AllSpark, and then frozen in photonic crystals (like they were in IDW).
It may not be canon to Aligned, but it does make me feel better than what I had originally intended.
Regardless, I made Starscream go to Crystal City Science Institute for his first school, which is pretty hardcore, I imagine, as I think they do some pretty advanced science education there. I also decided that that's where he first meets Jetfire and they become friends and later colleagues.
Starscream struggles in school though because of his personality, and a possible underlying mental condition, but at the same time he's very talented.
Basically, Starscream's "scientific career" is mostly just his time in school in Crystal City. XD
For some reason, I also have Starscream first want to be a medic, then get rejected, and then go join the Seekers afterwards.
I don't know why, but "Triangulation" just made me think that Starscream might once have had an interest for medicine. Like, surgery maybe. But that interest then faded in place for military.
Like, I wonder if even high caste bots had a choice of what they wanted to be, or they were also just forced into military, or science, or politics. I feel like they have a free choice...?

Awesome video but question what was elita-1 like? Was she like the others and didn't want change, or was like orion who wanted to change it Slowly and peacefully or tried everything to get them to change the caste system

In some continuities Vector Sigma is primus's body and he merged his soul with Cybertron I prefer Cybertron itself being his body so I had a theory that Vector Sigma might be his brain module his processor

The Decepticons were the good guys initially, til they lost their way.
The decepticons are the product of the corruption of the high council and created through their own negligence. There's a saying the peace time creates villains through corruption.

They both begin with good visions and good intentions but war power and greed turn tho both into crazy warlords who will stop at nothing for revenge, both leading to there down fall and becoming the bad guys, maybe transformers story was inspired by ww2
