This is the song by which all Olympic theme songs should be judged on. Not only did I watch it live in 1988 (at about 5.00am BST) but when it was shown in an episode of Pingu some three years later I was able to recite every single word, without mistake, having only heard the song before once.
코리아나가 입은 의상을 조금 설명하자면 조르지오 아르마니가 디자인 해줬습니다. 디자인의 배경이 특이한데 디자이너의 감각이 얼마나 뛰어난지 알 수 있습니다. 원래 코리아나는 화려한 색감의 의상을 입으려고 했었는데. 조르지오 아르마니는 화려한 색상을 하면 안된다고 반박했다 합니다. 수많은 사람과 색상이 주변에 펼쳐질것인데 그 안에 똑같이 있어서는 안된다. 오히려 화려한 색상안에서 블랙과 화이트로 간결하게 나가야만 더욱 주목 받을 수 있다고 코리아나에게 설득 했다고 합니다. 대단한 안목입니다.

동영상이 인터넷으로 나오기 전에 유럽에서는 한국 88올림픽 개회식 비디오가 웃돈주고 고가에 팔리기도 했데요... 정작 우리는 잊어버렸는데 외국인들이 하나하나 기억하며 설명해줘서 뻘쭘했어요 ㅋㅋ 총감독이었던 이어령님 정말 대단해요. 오자마자 첫마디가 "용(dragon)쓰지마라, '쟤네들 중국 속국이었네' 소리듣는다." 하시고 호랑이로 바꿨다는 말에 정말 감동이었어요. 가장 한국적인 것이 가장 세계적이다 라는 말이 그때쯤 부터 나왔죠

Paris' opening was...🤨. The part with Gojira was cool to watch, but overall it felt like France just trying to be provacative.This performance, cheesy though it may be, shows the real Olympic spirit
이곡을 만드신 분은 이탈리아인인 조로조 모로더. 제가 이탈리아에서 살아서가 아니라 저분 정말 전설적인 주옥같은 음악 많이 만드심. 나이가.드셔도 감각은 항상 새로우신 분. 이분이 이곡을 만들기 전에 최대한 한국감성에 맞출려고 한국노래를 몇백곡을 들으셨다고 함. 참고로 또하나. 저때 저 코리아나 가족밴드팀이 입으셨던 의상은 이탈리아 디자이너 Giorgio Armani. 지금봐도 정말 스타일 딱입니다.

지금도 역대급 Top 10 전자 음악가 더라구요 한국서 이분을 어떻게 알고 올림픽 주제곡으로 섭외 한건지 당시 음악의 조예있던 팝 칼럼니스트 DJ 분들 칭찬해야 함 이분 아니었으면 조용필, 김연자, 이선희, 정수라 중의 건전가요 중에서 불렀겠지만 손에손잡고랑 비교하면 2% 모자람 당시 가수분들거 들으면 30년 전 노래지만, 조르죠 모로더 분께서 만든건 지금 곡 같은 세련됨이 있거든
I was 7 when this Olympic games were held.. I didn't appreciate the meaning of the lyrics back then, but as I turn to 30s and 40s... this song means so much, and moves my heart so much that it makes me tearful. I hope this true Olympics spirit comes back.

@@m.a.t.s7165 1980 Summer Olympics was a half, as well as the LA 84 Olympics with partial countries participated. The Seoul 88 Olympics was participated by almost all countries sans North Korea. After this, USSR and East Germany collapsed and became what it is known today. I remember the sports events were more exciting in those years with the US/Capitalists vs. USSR/Communists competing against each others. Despite some were later to be doped up, it was still exciting and so much fun!
'Hand in Hand' is the best Olympic theme song in history, and the accompanying visuals of people from around the world coming together are truly impressive.
I was 14 during the 1988 Olympics and for the first time skipping school so I could watch the Games. Those were magic times. To this day I love everything about the Olympics. For me it is one of the greatest traditions of mankind.

It was a song about breaking down the wall. In fact, Germany was reunified. The Cold War era is practically over, but the main character of this song, Korea, still has a wall... what a sad story

김연자님껜 정말 죄송하지만 뽕짝 풍으로 이미 선정된 공식 주제가를 개막 3개월 앞두고 이 노래가 태어났다 함. 아무리 생각해도 뽕짝은... 이라는 생각에 글로벌하게 갔던 것이 신의 한수였음. 이탈리아 명 작곡가께서 이 곡을 만들기 위해 우리나라에서 개최했던 아시안 게임 개막식 수십차례 보고 한국적인 것 등등 넣기위해 많이 애쓰셨다고 함. 지금 발매되어도 히트칠거 같은 위대한 명곡. 감사합니다~♡

이곡을 만드신 분은 이탈리아인인 조로조 모로더. 제가 이탈리아에서 살아서가 아니라 저분 정말 전설적인 주옥같은 음악 많이 만드심. 나이가.드셔도 감각은 항상 새로우신 분. 이분이 이곡을 만들기 전에 최대한 한국감성에 맞출려고 한국노래를 몇백곡을 들으셨다고 함. 참고로 또하나. 저때 저 코리아나 가족밴드팀이 입으셨던 의상은 이탈리아 디자이너 Giorgio Armani. 지금봐도 정말 스타일 딱입니다.

@@m.a.t.s7165 1980 Summer Olympics was a half, as well as the LA 84 Olympics with partial countries participated. The Seoul 88 Olympics was participated by almost all countries sans North Korea. After this, USSR and East Germany collapsed and became what it is known today. I remember the sports events were more exciting in those years with the US/Capitalists vs. USSR/Communists competing against each others. Despite some were later to be doped up, it was still exciting and so much fun!

I was 14 during the 1988 Olympics and for the first time skipping school so I could watch the Games. Those were magic times. To this day I love everything about the Olympics. For me it is one of the greatest traditions of mankind.

Pinochet’s dictatorship fell in Chile in 1988.
Then in 1989: not only the Berlin Wall fell but also Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary all transitioned into a democracy. Then in 1990 Germany reunified.

화려한 모자 쓴 독수리(미국 상징)랑 불곰(러시아 혹은 구소련 상징) 사이에 호랑이(대한민국 상징)기 있어서 한국이 동구권과 서구권 나라들과 손 잡고 나아간다는 의미를 내포한 아름다운 장면입니다.

김연자님껜 정말 죄송하지만 뽕짝 풍으로 이미 선정된 공식 주제가를 개막 3개월 앞두고 이 노래가 태어났다 함. 아무리 생각해도 뽕짝은... 이라는 생각에 글로벌하게 갔던 것이 신의 한수였음. 이탈리아 명 작곡가께서 이 곡을 만들기 위해 우리나라에서 개최했던 아시안 게임 개막식 수십차례 보고 한국적인 것 등등 넣기위해 많이 애쓰셨다고 함. 지금 발매되어도 히트칠거 같은 위대한 명곡. 감사합니다~♡
