    Just upgrading my RAM and adding a new SSD and this has been really helpful! For anyone struggling to budge the screw mount for the second SSD slot, I ended up getting out a set of pliers to remove it from the default slot and that moved it with zero issues.

    A heads-up: the little plastic clips that hold the base plate on are easy to break if you're not careful. Do not advocate for pulling the plate off without a pic/tool to slide and decouple or = broken clips. I am living proof.

    • @MurmuUAV
      @MurmuUAV ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The clips are the usual plasti clips that you can find on most of our common plastic devices (TV controller, Joystick, XBOX, Playstation and so on). You have to have some thin flat screwdriver or similar (better with a plastic end) and you try ti identify the place of those little clips and give a gentle push. You do that enough to bend gently the "plastic" clip just enough to free the opposite slot that blocekd it@@ImMashimaro

    • @iitzfizz
      @iitzfizz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh hell yeah, I was super careful when removing and still snapped two clips.
      I'm sure the reason why there are so many clips holding it in place is because they KNOW some are going to break.

      من می خواهم رم لپ تاپ را به 32 ارتقا دهم، اما می ترسم از آن پشتیبانی نکند.
      آیا این لپ تاپ تا 32 گیگابایت رم پشتیبانی می کند؟ خوب ، در یک جای 32 گیگابایت و در جای دیگر 16 گیگابایت نوشته شده است
      در دفترچه راهنمای آزمایشگاه، هیچ اشاره ای به حداکثر رم وجود ندارد.
      از سوی دیگر، لپ تاپ من 2280 دارد و در کشور من 2242 وجود ندارد.
      ایده من این بود که SSD 2280 (512 گیگابایت) خودم را حذف کنم و به جای آن یک SSD 2280 (2T) نصب کنم.
      اما من هنوز نمی دانم که آیا 2T از آن پشتیبانی می کند یا خیر، زیرا دیده بودم که بیش از 1T پشتیبانی نمی کند.
      شاید مجبور شوم SATA SSD را روی 2280 خود ببندم و کمی می ترسم...

      That's why he said to completely shut it down and to unhook the charger, so that no power is running through it at all. Putting a computer in sleep mode means a bit of power is still coursing through it. You have nothing to worry about if you unhook the charger and shut it down as long as your not trying to bust open your battery or are trying to deconstruct the battery. Damaging your battery could mean it not working properly or it setting on fire, so be gentle with it and stick to the screws and edges around it when handling it. And touch something metal in your home to quickly ground yourself before working with the parts and the inside of the laptop.

      Yes it is a good precaution, having the battery connected when a laptop is being serviced can cause a short circuit and fry your certain components or the whole motherboard.

      You would need to put a 2230 M.2 in the second PCIe slot, and the secondary would be a bit slower than the one in the main M.2 slot (still a bit faster than SATA tho), but yeah it should work

    4:15 and onwards. My manual for my Ideapad Gaming 3 15ARH05 states "M.2 2280 SSD up to 512GB"

    • @stenovitz
      @stenovitz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      OK, just an update. No problem installing a 1TB Samsung SSD 980 MVNe PCI-E 3x4.0 M.2 2280, though the manual for my 15ARH05 - Type 82EY states 'up to 512Gb',
      So now my laptop onsists of 2 x PCI-E 3x4.0 MVNe 2280 cards, i.e. the aforementioned 512Gb Micron M.2 2280 card coming preinstalled + now my fresh 1TB from Samsung.
      Think I could even go for 2 x 4TB M.2 2280 cards if I wanted to.
      Just an info regarding the official Lenovo manual 'limitations¨on storage size'. Apparently, there's nothing in it, and hurray for that 🙂
