Do you need to destatic yourself before opening it up? I do not want to harm the hardware. And when you upgrade the storage with a new 500gb stick will you need to reinstall everything or can you bring it over?

@@raphael5f547 i took it to. A shop and they fixed it Apparently the driver needed is actually the RAID driver for the laptop. They extracted the files from the driver and installed it that way Which is ridiculous because it's not raid, it's a single drive But apparently the raid driver from the laptop is needed to to get everything working. So just make sure u download the raid driver and extract contents and copy those to your windows install usb so u can select them.

Where did you get the standoff and the screw for the M.2 SSD? I have looked on amazon and the only ones that I can find are for the ASUS motherboard and it doesn't fit.
Nice job! I have one and the first thing I did was take out that horrific Windows OS. Replaced it with Linux Pop OS. So much faster. Windows is a dog. Try Linux...you'll never go back to that bloatware os.

So, i have a lenovo e15 and it has an hhd, but i installed a second drive ssd, and I have tried to get it to boot to it, but it still boots to the hhd even though I changed the boot order. Do you have any idea how i can get it to boot from my ssd?
Your boot manager is defaulting to you hdd. As soon as you turn on your laptop, start tapping the f12 key to bring up your boot menu, choose your new ssd to boot from. Having 2 different drives with windows installed is confusing to the windows boot manager. You may have to remove your hdd to force it to boot from your ssd, then put hdd back in.
I could with the first screws cause pliers but I just gave up after because the next screw is near impossible without a tool. I don’t think I got it to move in the slightest
M.2 yes, if you are talking about 2.5 ssd drive then you have to have a flex cable provided with a laptop to install 2.5 ssd and a room for one of course

Lenovo has made it needlessly hard for users to upgrade their overpriced laptops. Seems like they're learning from apple. Hopefully by next year Right to Repair is in full swing and this ridiculousness goes extinct.

This video is a total fraud and the video was apparently all faked! You can't upgrade the SSD as shown because there is no way to do a new install of the OS since none of the media creation tools like the one for Windows can recognize the crappy NVMe card they used as a real hard drive! It's going to always be stuck in useless Windows S mode with the original SSD unless it is booted from an SD card!
Sometimes you have to install some drivers for the Intel RST. Windows 11 doesn't come with this as standard on their boot media. Have to download and install it as per old Windows.

Always protect yourself from static discharge, yes. You can either do clone, or a clean install of Windows.

Hi..I believe the s145 comes with 128GB SATA SSD. you should be safe to go with 250, 500 or 1TB. you must use a SATA M.2 SSD.

it was screwed into the other hole just unscrew it and screw it in to the farther hole.

yes you can, but maybe you have 4gb soldered thant you can't remove, su you only upgrade the other 8gb to 16gb for a total of 20gb.

Did you clone the original hard drive or install and OS on the SSD? If not, the drive is blank and there for has nothing to boot.
