I wonder what the sikhs who think they have nothing to do with hinduism think, when they listen to such deep and honest analysis of our great sanatan dharma of which sikhi is a part.
I've met alot of them. They just go in denial mode saying how the mention of "durga" and "shiva" isn't actually durga and shiva but analogy and what not.
@@Vajrapani108 yes I have had heated debates with them. I concluded that if someone wants not to identify with you there isnt anything you could say to change their mind. Theyre either feeling inferior or superior or just insecure.

I’m a Sikh and believe the Sikhs are Vaishnavs, devotees of Gopal. Gopal is mentioned many times in Gurbani and can only be Krishna. Sikhs are also ksatriyas and prefer to fight on Krishna’s side.

Sikhi has both apects of Nirgun and Sagun Upasna as we can see that "Japji Sahib" by Guru Nanak Devji emphazise on Nirgun Onkaar , On the other hand compositions of "Chandi Charitr and Chandi di Vaar" written by Guru Gobind Singh ji is in devotion to Goddess Chandi which is a Sagun Upasna of the feminine form of God as Goddess Chandi. Also mention of Lord Vishnu as Parmatma in Guru Granth Sahib ji and his Avatars, is also a Sagun Bhakti.

Because of MARYADA AND PERSONIFICATION established by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, whomsoever adheres to that maryada is a Sikh, this maryada is Dharmic and comes from our Sanatan Dharma itself and belief in one God ONKAAR .
Sikhi was never ever considered as a separate Mazab by the gurus. It was always been considered as a Paanth within sanathan Dharma until khalistan movement spoilt it.

"Sikh Religion and Hinduism" by G. S. Sidhu M. A. Fil (London) published by Guru Nanak Charitable Trust (278 pages book) is available on net for all seekers of knowledge. It's an excellent source on comparative study of two religions. This book demolished the theological connection some scholars are trying to make between Vedic and Sikh religion.

That connection between Sanatan dharam and Sikhi is made by our Gurus first. So people doing work against their own Gurus teachings and yet calling themselves Sikh is a contradiction.

Prof Jagbir Singh is unable to describe the Objective of Sikhism.
Guru Nanak sahib refused to adopt Janeu and explained spiritual janeu one should seek.
Guru Nanak Sahib also scripted bani "Aarti" to open the eyes of humankind by describing Aarti, which is continuously happening in Univers by 'Ik Onkar's Grace'
This Professor is trying to merge guru granth sahibs teaching in to Vedics system. Not acceptable

I am a Sikh and let me tell you Vedant at its core does not tell you to follow rituals but asks you questions so you can seek the brahm(divine conciousness).
The hinduism we all see today evolved from the vedant philosophy to tantra(ritualistic) philosophy.
If you deep dive in vedant you will find all the similarities between vedant and Sikhism.
Let me give some more proof regarding the similarities between Sikhism and Vedant.
According to Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1,
“Ekam Evadvitiyam
Translation: He is One and only, without a second”
According to Yajurveda 32:3,
"Na tasya pratima asti
Translation: "There is no image of Him."
Now what does Gurbani says:
ਬਰਨੁ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਰਚਨਾ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥
The creation has absolutely no colour or markings, the whole expansive universe is an illusion.
According to Rigveda 1.164.46,
“Indraṃ mitraṃ varuṇamaghnimāhuratho divyaḥ sa suparṇo gharutmān,
ekaṃ sad viprā bahudhā vadantyaghniṃ yamaṃ mātariśvānamāhuḥ
Translation: "They call him Indra, Mitra, Varuṇa, Agni, and he is heavenly nobly-winged Garutmān. To what is One, sages give many a title”
What does Gurbani says:
ਏਕ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਨ ਰੂਪ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
The form of the One can be viewed in countless ways, as a result of taking countless forms.
ਖੇਲ ਖੇਲਿ ਅਖੇਲ ਖੇਲਨ ਅੰਤ ਕੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਏਕ ॥੮੧॥
The Divine, who is beyond the game, plays this drama of the world, but in the end, only the One remains.
Advaita vedanta believes in oneness of atma and parmatma that your atma is brahm itself and in reality you are the atma sikhism too believes in this idea of oneness of atma and parmatma.
ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਆਤਮ ॥
Atman is Rama (Brahman) and Rama (Brahman) is the Atman - (Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Ang/Page 1030).
The Upanishads say the same in various ways, such as "Tat Tvam Asi" (That Thou Art), "Aham Brahmasmi" (I am Brahman), and "Ayam Atma Brahma" (This Self is Brahman).
Advaita Vedanta and Sikhism are similar to each other, as advaita Vedanta believe that only brahm exists and this whole jagat is mithya i.e an illusion sikhism also believes the same, in sikhism also jagat does not truely exists and is just a projection of polluted intellect, and in reality only brahm is existing.
Vedant says:
ब्रह्म सत्यं जगन्मिथ्या जीवो ब्रह्मैव नापरः । अनेन वेद्यं सच्छास्त्रमिति वेदान्तडिण्डिमः ॥

All the virtues that exist in it including known and unknown are his own virtues including what we perceive and what we can't perceive what has originated and what has not yet originated I'd him is his own virtues!

They do not understand the concept of Nirgun Nirakar or the non manifested God that is why they do not know the techniques to worship the non manifested God while we use the Cosmic sound of Om to focus our minds on the abstract non Manifested God or Brahmn without knowing or thinking about his attributes!
On the other hand we also worship the manifested forms of God and its attributes either partially like one or many attributes or wholly that is the attributes of entire Cosmos!

मै इस बात से असहमत हूँ की आमंत्रित वक्ता को ये नहीं पता की सिख ग्रंथो में हिन्दू देवी देवताओं का वर्णन है। अभी तक जितने भी सिख ग्यानी जयपुर डायलॉग में आये हैं वे सभी इस बात को टाल गए या स्वीकार करने से कतराते हैं की सभी सिख गुरु माँ शक्ति या माँ काली या अन्य किसी देवता का उपासक थे। उन्हें ये लगता है की यदि ये बात मान ली गई तो उनके गुरुओं के मान मे कोई कमी आएगी या कद छोटा हो जाएगा। जब की ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं है। इस पर मै संजय जी टिप्पणी चाहूंगा, अगर संभव हो तो।
