For 2 decades I've dreamed of Age of Mythology getting further support with additional pantheons. Tale of the Dragon was obviously a dud, but this? With a guarantee of another already on the way. This is the start of something magical right here. Literal dream come true, I cannot wait to experience the future of this game.

Please add a campaign along with every new civilizations release. It would be great for learning the mechanics. I mostly plays offline and I really love to dive into the mythical story of each new civilizations.

I do get it, I also love Japanese mythology, it's still funny though. Same could be said of the Aztecs since there were more prominent mesoamerican pantheons historically, but that one does have more intact historical records as a reason

I hated the original chinese faction. horrible design and very unbalanced. looked more like a mod than an official release. but with this trailer, they look great. nice rework. i'm glad i got the premium version. I hope with the single player they will add conflict with other factions so that the new faction doesn't seem so alien and out of place.
They did say this was gonna be a complete rework of the Chinese because the reception was that poor for expansion. I never played it but people I know say it’s still buggy AF and it seems to lack an identity gameplay wise. I have confidence in Forgotten Empires and Worlds Edge as they’ve introduced new civs in past games that were well balanced (mostly) and well received.
No surprise there (still looks way better than the Tale of the Dragon expansion) I do wonder we get more Mythologies like Azetec, Mayan, Native American, Indian, Inuit, Aborigines, Babylonian etc. There are sooo many more!

I really REALLY hope that we have a chance of getting more expansions after the two that were promised. I know that the next one would most likely be Aztec, but there are many more potential factions like Celtic, Japan, India and even Rome that would be amazing to see added. Not to mention future single player campaign stories and additional New Gods packs for each faction.
I don't know about you, but I really wanted to see Brazilian mythology in this work of art called Age of Mythology. See the creatures from Brazilian mythology, werewolves or some mythology that has these types of creatures, like wendigo.
I'm very encouraged by this trailer, the Chinese civ looks gorgeous! Tale of the Dragon was pretty terrible, but I'm so glad that they haven't just canned the Chinese altogether for AOM Retold. Cannot wait to see more details on the gods, myth units, god powers, and unique mechanics
Give me Japan, Indian and native american mythos and we will be all set (it's like Warhammer Fantasy with less edgy stuff). Maybe Sumeria to represent the middle-east?
While Japanese is a good choice for a new pantheon I really doubt the devs would give us them after just giving us the Chinese because it would feel quite redundant to have two Asian expansions in a row.

I highly doubt they are going to do Japanese right after Chinese, when there are still major regions in the world lacking representation in the game (America, Mesopotamia, Celtic, e.t.c.).

I really REALLY hope that we have a chance of getting more expansions after the two that were promised. I know that the next one would most likely be Aztec, but there are many more potential factions like Celtic, Japan, India and even Rome that would be amazing to see added.
Not to mention future single player campaign stories and additional New Gods packs for each faction.
I hope most of it is available to everyone

I don't know about you, but I really wanted to see Brazilian mythology in this work of art called Age of Mythology. See the creatures from Brazilian mythology, werewolves or some mythology that has these types of creatures, like wendigo.

The Aztec mod that was released DAYS before the teaser for Retold, replaced the Chs with expertly crafted mesoamerican pantheon
I'm very encouraged by this trailer, the Chinese civ looks gorgeous! Tale of the Dragon was pretty terrible, but I'm so glad that they haven't just canned the Chinese altogether for AOM Retold. Cannot wait to see more details on the gods, myth units, god powers, and unique mechanics

apparently it is. They found some game files that indicate it. Also Japanese and Chinese campaigns could be intertwined like OG norse/greek/egyptian
While Japanese is a good choice for a new pantheon I really doubt the devs would give us them after just giving us the Chinese because it would feel quite redundant to have two Asian expansions in a row.
@@0o0RoyaLCukY0o0 Those game files are just left over files from the Japanese civ from Age of Empires III, because Retold runs on the same engine. I highly doubt they are going to do Japanese right after Chinese, when there are still major regions in the world lacking representation in the game (America, Mesopotamia, Celtic, e.t.c.).
As an almost-lifelong AOM player/follower, after watching this teaser I can only say one thing: THANK YOU!!!

A lot of people are saying it will be a rework. Haven't found an official statement though.
@@ManchmalGamingit is. This contains new majors (apart from Nu-Wa), listed in the description. And it was also confirmed to be a rework in the premium edition FAQ page (which is information also available on the Steam store Page for AOM:R).
It's a completely new Chinese expansion with no connection to Tale of the Dragon.
