Mine is the R-spec Pursuit. It seems to handle pretty good although some wider wheels would be nice. That can come after the lid & spoiler (in attempt to gain down force on the rear). Still, for cruising & having a blast I want my engine putting out more than it currently does.
@@change_your_oil_regularly4287 I have a set of Boss 260 and 290 heads and about to rebuild the 290. Keep in touch, I'll be noting and taking photos with part numbers of all the differences. I've also got an article on the exact differences. Just trying to find the doc and will post if you want it.
Think he made an error saying 330kw at the wheels when he dynoed the car. Its 335kw at the motor. With an average of 40kw between the motor and the wheels, makes it around 295kw at the wheels standard.
FPV coyotes, such as the Boss 335, have a transient over-boost function, which can operate under ideal conditions. When over-boost is active they can produce much more power, the GTF actually produces 404 kW when the over-boost is functioning, as opposed to 351 kW when the over-boost function is not enabled. In the past, FPV has marketed their engines with power figures that are always available, as opposed to peak engine powers that can be generated. Hope this helps mate!
I knwo this post is ancient and Im asusming you know now but just in case anyone else wonders, once upon a time when we had 4,3 sp and even old 2 sp auto slush box transmissions they used to be slower than manual but now days with 7 sp ( hell i think the new commodore has a 9sp) autos with all the fancy shit they have in them, theyre actually faster for drag racing now. I'd still want a manual around a track but when all u have to do is put your foot down, the auto changes faster now.
that setup owuldnt have been cheap but you can actually get decent bang for your buck. They started pushing into diminishing returns there, you can actually get a good 70 kw extra with a tune and a little breathing work. Cheap as chips. I got a stage 2 package from the horsepower factory, cost me roughly 3.2k and took my fg gs from 315 to 440 kw at the fly. Only issue i had was the brakes arent all that great on the GS so I wound up spending more on a decent set at the front. I didnt HAVE to do that though, just wanted to. Anyway I know this comment is super old so sorry for dragging it up again, just wanted to answer lol
OMG, look at how they are trying to take off the pulley for the supercharger, everyone else use's common sense, like pulling the pulley off with special tools and also re fitting the new hi end pulley on the supercharger pulley system? NOPE they use a grinder to try to round off the pulley and then try to take it off ? WOW 110Kw gain, but 10K to pay for it ? No mention of headers CAT back system and hi flow cats either ? also cam as well ?
I need this intercooler & upgraded supercharger on my Pursuit
good gains over stock with the Herrops kit, you for got the other acronym a HTV1900 harrop blower as well :P
Quicker launch and no time wasted changing gears. Auto's are always faster than manuals for the same car weight and power down the strip.
I would spend money on traction before power. This has plenty, but the small tires and soft suspension really limit it on track days.

Bit rough cutting the old pulley off the blower :(
Interesting to see but why void a warranty? Oh well. :)
How much would something like this cost??
Hello, if I was going to supercharge my 03 ba xr8, from a stock engine. How much would that cost and what parts would I need?

@@Antifaith29 you serious? Boss is a 8 barra is a 6.
@@deepsearacingprawn1396 There is a Barra V8.

I would guess around the 10k mark.
about 590 ( roughly) rwhp for our American friends.

107 kw extra, would have been nice to know the cost but I would be afraid to ask !!!!!!!!!!!.

There was mention of "headers CAT back system and hi flow cats"... did you have the sound off? It was still stock exhaust system.... ffs
