    The power input is dc. If the inverter is on there'd be no flicker in the output. It's not switching between the cord and battery, only charging the battery while outputting

    Yeah Al we needed this. I think I’ll have to start buying some Ryobi tools. They have great products that I don’t think Ego will even make. Like their outdoor propane heater for example.

      They have a ton of really cool tools especially for their 18 volt lineup but wait I'm coming out with a head to head with this new Ryobi power station

    Use perallel cables with this ryobi 1800w power station with the ryobi 18v 1800w power station, and at the same time, use the "pass threw" charger.

    Good review👍I do have a couple of thoughts.. When you tested the UPS function, you had the power brick charger hooked up and on. I wonder if you should have tested the UPS without power going in since it has pass-through charging? I understand the thought that for maintaining best battery conditioning, it's best to store the unit at less than 100%. I think you suggested around 50%. That said, if you need the unit when power goes off and it's only at a 50-75% charge, aren't you loosing how many hours you can use it, i.e., powering a refrigerator. If that's the case, I'm not sure it makes sense. Anyway, as always, a great revuew😊

      @TechMadeEzy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi Frank, the light switch turns power off to see how fast the power switches to battery. As far as storage, when you have a power outage solar would be a good solution with most power stations, this one doesn’t have that option (not good)

      I doubt it has an ups or transfer relay I’m assuming power brick directly feeds battery cells and inverter draws from separately. Probably why it reads 275watts input no matter the load. Great video though 👍

    So, about the 1600w vs 1800w as it pertains to this inverter. A 15amp breaker in your house is an 1800w circuit. Max load on that circuit is 80% of that, which is 1600w. Every breaker in the US, except those specifically listed for full load, follow this rule. This inverter is also following this rule. It's essentially a portable 15amp circuit and behaves the same as your household outlet.

    I'm glad the Ryobi was able to handle the load of your Keurig if it couldn't you could have ended up possibly damaging your Keurig.

    I don't think there is a ups feature in this power station..remember power brick step down ac to Dc so it will have pass through charging not ups ..ups allows ac to run the loads..how can it do that when we already have dc coming out of the brick....

      @@TechMadeEzy I can agree with that. And if it's not LFP, it's an automatic no go. With all the benefits of LFP (100% charging, no thermal runaway, longer life), they really messed this one up. And they announced it months ago. Plenty of time to assess the other choices and price points on the market. They also only limit you to two Powerstations max.

      As long as the ac units wattage and surge meets the Ryobi specs BUT the challenge you will have if it does it run time. AC units take up a lot of power and this unit doesn’t have a large battery. You would need a much larger capacity unit that’s expandable to do that and it gets expensive. Here is an example of a unit that can in most cases and it’s expandable th-cam.com/video/ixx4gfHV4oo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6DbHvfuM-uGAjUIh

    As a ryobi 40v inverter owner, I am also disapointed with this model. The inverter seems to be the same as the 40V model which is 1600w- its 1800w between AC & DC - i hate this markeing bs. Cons: Way over priced for a NMC battery. fan sounds like you are at an airport. Can only be charged by AC power, no solar input not even a bidirectional USBC - come on ryobi. The only people buying this will be novices and fan boys. The Ecoflow delta 2 crushs this in every spec.
    This does NOT have a UPS.

      I find it hard to believe that they don't have solar charging, yet here we are. I wouldn't mind the fan I think. But for the wattage and price point it actually seems fair to me, but maybe I am missing something. Most other power supplies seem to be 1,000-1,200 watts. The form factor and wattage seems like great selling features. Sure under $1000 would be great, but I like others are most bothered by the lack of solar and 12v car charging options.

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TechMadeEzyI know, and that is why it's so disappointing. The form factor of this model vs the other options is what makes this so appealing to me. We would use this camping so the form factor is important.
