You're incredible Uncanny Omar - I feel like the majority of your episodes are reviewing super-hero books (which I also love), but then your favorites are primarily (if not all), non-super-hero books. I'm actually surprised the the LSH 5 years Later didn't replace your Horror Lives Again omnibus, but they're both great. Problem with Rusty Brown is it would definitely benefit from an oversized edition b/c for me it wasn't so difficult to follow with the numerous panels, but sometimes the font was so small it was frustrating trying to read. Your channel and the Omnibros were the best thing of 2020 and the best thing to come from this horrible pandemic! Thank you so much. And because you asked for it: The Graphic Novel Adaptation of Slaughterhouse 5 was my favorite book of 2020, and I really enjoyed Kent State and Trashed by Derf Derfback. I finally read Animal Man by Grant Morrison and that was just under Slaughterhouse 5. Chip Zdarsky’s Daredevil was my favorite from Marvel, and I’m really enjoying rereading Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing in Absolute from DC. Mr Miracle DHC was the best modern superhero comic I read this year. The Rod Serling bio was great. SARA by Ennis and Epting and last night I read the reprint TPB of Aleister and Adolph which was very disturbing and eye opening. From Image I’m enjoying Department of Truth. Manga: Blood on the Tracks. Wishing you and your family the best 2021!

Uncanny xmen omni vol 1, Preacher omni vol 1, Gotham Central omni, hulk by peter david omni vol 1, miles morales ultimate spiderman omni, absolute swamp thing vol 1, punisher by garth ennis (marvel knights), wolverine omni, uncanny xmen omni, and i know there's more but those are the ones that stuck in my head the most. Top tens are so hard to do, don't think I could do one for 2020 (though my recommendation would the UK "Trigan Empire" Vol 2 which is a bit dated but full of amazing art - would be in my list). First year of reading and collecting comics, mostly thanks to this channel, so thank you for that, Omar. I still have dozens and dozens of great books on the shelf waiting to read in 2021 and beyond, so cannot wait to dig into them. Best reads of 2020 in no particular order. Fatale, Lazarus, Saga, Velvet, From Hell, The Fade Out, Animal Man (Morrison), Sin City, How to Talk to Girls at Parties, and Bone Parish. Definitely recommend Bone Parish as its the only one you may not have read, I would think.
Biggest letdown of 2020. Y: the Last Man.

As soon as you mention a book I might like, I have to skip your discussion as I know there will be details mentioned I don't want to know. Rusty Brown was probably my favorite read this year, glad to see that one and Stitches on this list! I also really enjoyed The Sculptor by Scott McCloud, Killing and Dying by Adrian Tomine, and Ice Haven by Daniel Clowes.

My top readings this year: Daytripper, Maison Ikkoku vol 1 & 2, Astro City vol 1 & 2, Thor by Walter Simonson (2nd reading), Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka vol 1, Dark Avengers, Captain America Epic Collection Man Without a Country (my 1st Epic, now I have 13 and 9 on order), Captain America Winter Soldier.
And let's add other favourite things in 2020: Animal Crossing and spending so much time with my wife and kids!!!
You read some amazing books.
Strontium dog is another favourite from 2000ad, slaine, rogue trooper, judge Anderson. So many awesome characters, and stories.

Shuumatsu no Valkyrie (English title will be Record of Ragnarok, its not yet released in the US. Its just one long Tournament arc, but the storytelling and art are sooo good)
I wouldve read The Wicked + The Divine but my order got delayed and it wont be showing up til Fri

It's funny, Tynion (pronounced Tine-in) almost talked me out of buying Something Is Killing the Children himself, when he said "it's like my take on a Stephen King story." I thought to myself I would just read King (or Hill) if that's what I wanted. But I got enough recommendations that I tried it out and I'm absolutely in love with it. Quite a bit of King there, but much faster paced, there's also some Buffy going on. Great book, really glad I gave it a chance.

Those are some iconic stories that you mentioned in Judge Dredd: Complete Case Files Vol. 5. If you liked the stories featuring Judge Death and the other Dark Judges, I have a recommendation for you. Pick up The Dark Judges: The Fall of Deadworld Books 1 and 2, written by Kek-W and with painted art by Dave Kendall. This is a story that's currently running in the UK, and has been collected in two hardcovers so far. A great apocalyptic horror story.

Great video. Several books were new to me and I'll definitely check them out. "Rusty Brown" is available from Hamilton Books for $7.95. A 2019 book that I just got and is my favorite of the year is "Nobody's Fool: the Life and Times of Schlitzie the Pinhead" by Bill Griffith. Griffith's previous book, "Invisible Ink" is highly recommended too. It seems like Griffith is taking a break from Zippy and working on more personal works in the twilight of his career. Schlitzie was in the classic movie FREAKS and the inspiration for Griffith's Zippy. The beginning of the book, where Schlitzie's parents sell their young boy to the carnival is horrible and haunting. Schlitzie adapts to life at the carnival, as a sideshow freak. All sorts of unusual events happen to him, including being cast in FREAKS. Near the end of the book, Schlitzie's caretaker dies and he slips into "the system" of mental institutions. Griffith depicts the bleakness and despair of this point in Schlitzie's life with a chilling mastery. However, at the end an improbable incident occurs and Schlitzie has a pretty good ending for his life, with a wonderful coda by Griffith. This fine book is also available from Hamilton Books for $6.95 and has a cool die-cut cover.

Eagle Comics printed floppies of that era of Dredd back in the 80s, in full color. And it's actually very well done. Copies were going pretty cheap, but might be getting up there. Of course, it's not been collected in a trade or anything.
I may have to check that out.
