The fact that this guy, Jonathan, took his concours winning car, drove it up to LA on a CA freeway and let Jay drive it says a lot about his character.
He (and Jay) let us all enjoy this beautiful car. For any enthusiast, especially those of us who can never afford such a car, it's really special. Thanks, guys!

People are a little harsh on the owner who clearly is not terribly familiar with his own car. This car has clearly had a vast amount of work done by skilled craftsmen. These craftsmen will have bills to pay and families to feed, this mans money has enabled us all to see this car beautiful again.
It is hard to believe that this car is from the mid 1950s, it looks much later, a two litre, six cylinder twin cam would have been expensive to make, but that is part of the art of the car.

This particular model from Maserati epitomizes the essence of 50's and 60's Italian automotive design. The beautifully sculpted lines, bold trident embossed grill, and visceral engine hark back to a time when car companies could strike a great balance between power and beautiful design. It's nice to see this wonderful soul stirrer of a car resurrected to grace the streets once again.

Recovering from some medical problems and am house bound, I've watched all the episodes except a few short ones and some bike ones. Good medicine ,thanks to Jay, Berhard, Rick Hall, Per the Painter and all the guests and the cars, the fire trucks which are near to my heart as my grandpa was a fireman and he'd take me down to the station and I'd meet the other firefighters and sit in the large Anerican LaFrance trucks and be shown the equipment, slide down the brass pole from upstairs and feel the bond and brotherhood they had with each other. My grandpa's dad who passed on before I was born was the Fire Chief of this small Massachusetts city, and later my Mom's cousin became fire chief. I would have become a fireman in Marlborough, but my Dad and two of his brothers became military officers in WWII and stayed in for their careers and my life lead me other places but I still admire fireman and their trucks.

Im finishing a. 1966 Maserati Sebring Series 2 and changed the troublesome MFI for Webers with side stacks. Twin plug six inline 3.7 liter. I am painting the car in highland green (2019 Bullitt). Boranis and painted the calipers red. Black leather interior. This video was a nice inspiration. been rebuilding it for 13 years. Hard to find all the parts I needed to replace but I did it finally. Paid 9,700 for the car in 2006 after it came out of a US Air Force hangar in the Canal Zone in Panama where it was shipped to from Italy and formerly owned by an Italian businessman sold to a US Air Force Captain who stored it in 1978 in the hangar at the back in a big crate for shipment back to Cali. He ended up retiring in Panama and I bought it from his widow..

i agree dude, people are incredible inconsiderate to this guy, even if the only thing he did was put a black check and bought the car, he did not ask money from you, he likes the looks, paid for the car and have make sure that a rare piece of car art continues to live on, and you know what, the douchsbag are lucky, because i'm sure that if you believe that he doesn't deserve this car he probably will be happy to sell it for the right price... so go on people go and buy this car from the guy and "save it"

As a car enthusiast, I am very glad the owner purchased this basket case and was willing to invest the time and money to make it so beautiful and functional. It is a work of art that was obviously wonderfully restored and potentially saved from destruction due to neglect or worse. He said that he and his children took it apart, so he obviously did get his hands dirty. But even if he paid others to do all of the work, I appreciate him and the restorers greatly.

The 50s and 60s (and maybe very early 70s) was just the greatest time in automotive history. from the XK 120 to the E-Type, to this gorgeous Mazzer A6 GT Allemano, Healey 3000, Talbot-Lago GT Grand Sport, Lambo Miura, Merc SL Gullwing, Aston Martin DB4/5/6, early-ish Ferraris, Jensen Interceptor, 'Stang 428 Cobra Jet, Sunbeam Tiger, Shelby Cobra 427, 69 Corvette Stingray, AMX/3, 69 COPO Camaro... just incredible all of them. Boy, what a time to be alive!
And then the bikes.. Velocette Venom, the Norton's, Triumphs.. and even harking back to the Vincent Black Shadow, and Brough Superior of the 30s and 40s.
    All automotive gold.
And this A6 is just about one of the most beautiful Maseratis I have ever seen in my life. He is so lucky to have such a dream car , but what a lot of work he's put into it making it such a special example. Really well done, as Jay would say.

Some cars however are so perfect that they become references for all other enthusiasts. These "reference" cars if you will need to be protected and maintained in top shape so other cars that are driven for pleasure are accurately restored. So come on give the guy a break he has a wonderful car and it's an essential part of the car culture

4:48 The trident is actually part of the "Nettuno" (Neptun) fountain in Bologna, birthplace of Maserati, (though they moved to nearby Modena after some years) the Maserati brothers only decided to use a landmark from their home town as a logo for their factory

Don't you mean the E type ? There's never been a Jaguar model XKE, even in the USA. XK is and Always was an engine designation. Only Americans call it an XKE.

Another fine example of Italian styling. After adjusting for inflation that $10,000.oo price in 1956 comes out to $95,667.54, if anyone is interested. Thanks for posting.
