I saw them at The Warfield SF back in 2003. At 4:27 Dave stood up with this look on his face like he was possessed and then he smiled right before going back to banging his drums. The crowd went crazy. One of the most memorable concert experiences of my life.

Kiss drummer Peter Kriss got me interested in drums as a kid in the 70s. But Dave Lombardo was the one who lit the fire and made me get a drum set cuz I wanted to play drums like THAT. I was 16 when this album came out and it changed my life forever

I wasn't even born at the time and was very small when they got old, also i live in asia. I always wish to visit my favourite old bands but I can't. Cuz they rarely come to Asia, as metal is not something super popular here.

I LOVE Slayer! When I first heard them back in the mid-eigbties I thought they were evil BUT I grew up and realized they were just a group of awakened souls trying to spread a message. They never glorified Mengale but we're just trying to keep history alive. If we forget where we came from we'll surely go back there.

My dad took me and my brother to this show when I was 13. God Forbid, Hatebreed, and Slipknot also played. My dad was in the parking lot waiting for us and said a bunch of guys in masks walked by his truck and got into a tour bus. We were like yeah THAT WAS SLIPKNOT. Slayer were famously confused when people began saying they thought this song was meant to glorify Mengele. If you read the lyrics, they clearly describe a monster of a human being They not praise him beyond saying the things he thought about himself as he carried out his atrocities, and in fact describe his atrocities in about as graphic detail as one can within the confines of a song this fast. They didn't feel like they needed to end the song with "oh by the way he was a very bad man" because they thought the lyrics stated that about as clearly as one possibly could.

There are obviously a lot of awesome things to love about slayers music. What gets me, more with them compared to other bands is their phenomenal instrumental skills and influences. From guitars to bass and drum, what slayer does with their instruments is crazy awesome.
Nothing can catch up with that evil metal music energy of Slayer. Iron maiden is no doubt the greatest story tellers and scary, but Slayer is beautiful too.

Saw them live some years ago, back in 2015. The best live performance I've ever seen. That's saying something, as I saw Metallica live three times from '92 to '96. Also saw Pantera in their prime and live three times from the same era. Prior to finally seeing Slayer, my favorite live shows were Machinehead and Fear Factory some time in the the early 2000s and Amon Amarth in 2014 or 2015. When Slayer took the stage in 2015 they utterly destroyed the place for two hours straight, took their bows, and left. Coils of the Serpent unwind....
This was prime Slayer imo I wish I would have been born a little bit earlier so I could have got a chance to see them around this time I did get to see this line up in 2010 and it was still epic but again this was when they were at their best
When I was younger I didn't understand Slayer were too fast for me, but now that I am older I understand that they were making an advance of the future generation of these days. Life is going too fast nowadays that this kind of music is just a need.

There are obviously a lot of awesome things to love about slayers music. What gets me, more with them compared to other bands is their phenomenal instrumental skills and influences. From guitars to bass and drum, what slayer does with their instruments is crazy awesome.
There will never be energy felt again like the energy felt at a Slayer gig.
Nothing can catch up with that evil metal music energy of Slayer. Iron maiden is no doubt the greatest story tellers and scary, but Slayer is beautiful too.

Saw them live some years ago, back in 2015. The best live performance I've ever seen. That's saying something, as I saw Metallica live three times from '92 to '96. Also saw Pantera in their prime and live three times from the same era. Prior to finally seeing Slayer, my favorite live shows were Machinehead and Fear Factory some time in the the early 2000s and Amon Amarth in 2014 or 2015. When Slayer took the stage in 2015 they utterly destroyed the place for two hours straight, took their bows, and left. Coils of the Serpent unwind....
