I have taken people who l have worked with over the years to the site and every time its been a fantastic experience the last people l took were 2 American's who owned the steel works l worked for they had been allover the world with there job but rated this place as the best place they had visited ..Great video you have done it justice
the story of the crashed b29 was in 1948. the name of it plane was called "Over Exposed" the cause was due to an early decent in low clouds at night. all of the crew and 2 passengers had unfortunately lost their lives in the crash. the cargo was 7500 USD in wages heading to RAF Burtonwood. they decided to keep the crash their for tourists and historians to look at the sight to remember the lives that had been lost in the crash.
I always spot something new every time I visit that wreckage. The best way to get there is to start from Old Glossop and approach by a scramble up Yellowslacks Brook.
I would just like to ask. I live in the Glossop area and was going to park on the lay-by on Snakes Pass and walk to the crash site. I've got a 7 year old boy who really wants to go. How long do you think it would take to walk?
@@WalkingintheWildwithJoeJackson hi,,cheers for that buddy,,I went there yesterday and went up the mountain and found the crash site,,but unfortunately i must of got mixed up with paths coming back down haha because I can probably guarantee nobody has every been the way I came back haha,,I was climbing up hills on my hands and knees and in sometimes I was in a foot deep of mud hahaha but it was all good and worth it,,I think I no where I went wrong so I’m going to try going up again next week,,,I park at the big lay-by just before where you parked as there was over 10 cars there and a blue container so it was active there and it’s a straight path up almost,👍👍👍👍👍
@@WalkingintheWildwithJoeJackson well I went up today baby and dog in toe. So glad I watched this before going or I wouldn't of had a clue, we will definitely have to tick off some more of your walks
It is illegal to fly a drone on Kinder, Bleaklow (this crash site) and Black Hill as they are all SSSI sites, and with a substantial fine for doing so.
Got a trail running route planned to see this in the morning. Exciting, brilliant video by the way. Earned yourself a subby ☺️
Enjoy the run and thanks for subscribing! 😁

Give yourself 3 hours which is plenty of time to get there and back and see the wreakage
@@WalkingintheWildwithJoeJackson thank you. I'm just about to set off shortly. I'll take loads of pictures and upload them to Google later 👍
Hi,,do you have a postcode for the car park/ lay-by for parking up buddy
Google Maps shows SK13 7PQ. Hopefully that will get you there :)

Is this easy to get to? Where did you start from please
The top of Snakes Pass on the side of the road. If you can find the path turning left and get up to the Trig then yes it isnt tol hard to find
Brilliant video,
Just wondering if this route is dog friendly (obviously taking care near the crash site)
Yes I would say so, just be careful :)

Good walking area sadly ruined by tedious commentary, makes it sound like a bad recipe!
