Santa always deploys the elves early so they get to their destination on time. But he doesn’t grant their magic powers until closer to Christmas.
It makes total sense that Emma’s elf would hide in the Christmas box until powers are granted.

I am just feeling better myself after being so sick too. Like some sort of stomach bug. Yesterday I finally started eating-actually felt starved. But a day or two I ate nothing. Then one day I had toast. Like 4 slices with a little jelly and that’s it. It was awful. I still think that the Noro Virus was a lot worse for me. But this was no picnic. I’m glad you guys are feeling better too. It’s so hard when the kids are sick. You feel so helpless. My nephew got sick once, snd every time he’d throw up, he’d say over and over I sorry I sorry, like he thought his parents were doing that to him. I think he was about a year and a half. His mom cried. Hard to explain germs to a toddler. 😢
Just explain to her that he came down to check on them real quick to make sure they're behaving and he's going back to report to Santa soon since she's still young enough to not quite understand how he works yet anyway

Your face though when Emma saw her elf 😮 I felt for you I have to keep all 5 of my kids elves hidden away from the Christmas stuff so they can’t find them. Is that room allowed to be a bedroom? I don’t know about the rules over in america, but here it’s illegal to have a bedroom without a window, even a window that’s not big enough for a person to fit through would not be legal or acceptable for a bedroom.

I've been sick with the same thing for now two weeks. Off and on with stomach virus- bug and I have a headache too. I've been taking oil of oregano twice a day and that has been helping me. I'm praying that I will be better before Thanksgiving. Its hard to sleep when I feel awful. So glad you all are better. Love from some coast of Florida 🌴🌺🌞⛱
