Wales. October 14th. 2023. Tadpoles in ponds. Weird.

The tadpoles were obviously different from normal this year.
Slow and many became sideways fat.
The spawn was in the pond in Spring.
I would have noticed any late spawn.
The owner of the house mentioned the tadpoles appearance and lack of energy.
There are many in the sediment.
Frogs and toads are vital to healthy gardens, so this is of major importance. They are important in the food chain, food for animals and predator to smaller creatures.
Hard to film so forgive the quality.
Lots of normal toads and frogs came and went, so it's not all bad.
