I came to Evesham and ashchurch stations numerous times before and I saw the remains of the trackbed that used to join Evesham station and continuing onwards to ashchurch station where I saw a spur line curving in and I looked at it and the platform on the Evesham loop line is now closed and disappeared altogether but the track is still standing

10:49 it’s a shame that this bridge that used to carry trains over the river is now demolished but the abutments are still here
12:43 The station site is still accessible and although the track bed is completely covered there are remains of the platform
15:28 what a shame that the bridge before broom junction station is now gone and so is broom junction station
Although the station buildings have been cleared away, remnants of the platform still remain The trackbed running through the site has been incorporated into a north-south footpath
19:07 I drove past that signal box a couple of times before I didn’t know that there was once a railway line that ran alongside the road
23:09 The station building of Salford station itself is still in existence, little changed and has been used as an office building The goods shed still stands. The station building is now owned by a property developer company, Bromford Turner, who have applied to demolish the building.

I've stayed in Salford Priors many times and had no idea that their was once a train station there. Thanks for the eye-opener.

Great video. The signal box at Broome fascinates me. It was obviously built quite late on. I would guess 1950s. Am I correct? Around 1960 a link to the Stratford - Honeybourne line was built Round 1960. This made the Stratford Broome line obsolete so it was closed. So this signal box served not purpose after then.

Well if you were travelling from Evesham to Stratford, that line opened in 1942 so as broom west was built to a war time specification to withstand blast damage then I would suggest she was built around 1939/1940. The line itself to Stratford closed in 1962.

Absolutely right the West Junction and it’s Signal Box were installed during the Second World War for freight trains which travelled along the Midland & Stratford Junction Railway from Woodford Halse on the former Great Central Railway which also had a link with the M&SJR.
They also built a new yard at Woodford to cope with the extra traffic and as was quoted in the previous comment in 1960 a new junction was installed at Stratford to connect with the Honeybourne line which unfortunately made this junction virtually redundant.
