- The Supreme Court rejected former President Donald Trump’s claim of absolute immunity from prosecution, ruling that while a former president is immune from prosecution for their official acts, they are not immune from unofficial acts.
Monday's historic 6-3 ruling doesn't answer the question of what is an official or unofficial act. Instead, the court kicks the question back to the lower courts for to figure out precisely how to apply the decision to Trump's case.

The Court Verdict could not be more understandable. Any decision taken that is related to his official duty while in office has presidential immunity backup. Any decision taken outside his official jurisdiction has no immunity backup , such decisions as asking more Votes in Georgia , Jan 6th aiding and abetting the Democracy Meltdown, using tax payers' money in paying for jiggy , jiggy and so on. All those were very unofficial. Immunity doesn't cover those.

In more sane times, trying to put the president on trial for stuff they did while in office was a non-starter, so it never needed remediation by the courts.
This has not taken any longer than how ordinary cases in the US Supreme court normally take. The court has no obligation to meet election date goals arbitrarily set by democrats as acceptable date by with the matter must be resolved, intended by democrats in order to interfere in the election. If you wanted this matter to resolved sooner, which is always out of your control you should have opened the case much earlier, but you did not.
Yep back to the lower court, they have a trial again found guilty then appealed back to the MAGA scotus members will then overturn the conviction.

If the President signs a bill into law, performing the official duties of office, said President can't be sued by someone who claims damages arising from that law, or prosecuted by a District Attorney or other government agency. Similarly if the President orders military action subsequent to a declaration of law by Congress. One the other hand, if the President calls an election official in Georgia and asks him to find him 11,780 votes, he is not performing the official duties of office, he is trying to win re-election. Any 10 year old understands this. It's common sense. That adults cannot grasp this just shows how biased they are.

All the Supreme Court did was waste a lot of time to decide what we already knew - Presidents are immune from doing their job, but not from doing stuff outside of their job. That was never the issue - Trump wasn't charged for doing stuff that was part of his official duties, he was charged for doing stuff outside his official duties. So this decision changes nothing - the charges against Trump are legit. What the Supreme Court really wanted to do was stall for time, and delay the trials until after the election. In this they succeeded, but they changed nothing legally.

Is a president the president 24/7 or is the president a part-time president, if the president goes to a movie is he off-duty or is he on/call 27/7, who has the football, where is the football, if the president is eating dinner is he off-duty or is he on/call 24/7, if the president is sleeping in his bed is he off-duty or on/call 24/7. My point, is the president acting in an unofficial capacity when he views a movie or is he off-duty. Is the president acting in an unofficial capacity when he is eating, or is he off-duty. Is the president acting in an official or unofficial capacity when he is sleeping or is he on/call 24/7. I think if the president is on/call he is on duty
So he is still serving in the official capacity as the official president, therein is your answer, everything the president does is official. See article 1 section 3 clause7. My 2nd point, a president must be found guilty on impeachment of high crimes & misdemeanors, kicked out as president BEFORE the ATTORNEY GENERAL can go after a former president to legally prosecute him.
Remember the Nixon circumstances & the Ford pardon were totally different, Nixon resigned so as not to be impeached. We are talking about real high crimes & misdemeanors here. The pardon was to end it right there.

So they ruled that he essentially gets partial immunity. I dont have time to decipher the lengthy opinion thats now out there on this decision but my first question is what do they consider if anything about Trumps conduct on Jan 6 to be an offical act because to me much of his conduct on Jan 6 2021 was private. The second question is if he can still be prosecuted for acts that he took that were not official but private what does that mean for this case going forward because obviously the only way that he can be subject to any form of criminal prosecution/accountability here for any of his actions that he took on Jan 6 2021 is if he loses the election this year because at this point its clear that Judge Tanya Chutkan is not going to be able to get back to the US Supreme Court on what she considers to be offical and private acts on Jan 6 2021 before November election. Though this is the outcome that I expected from this court its not necessairly one that I completely agree with, I guess we should atleast be glad that they didn't rule that he has absolute immunity for both offical and unoffical acts that would be insane although I still think that the extensive delay here and the fact that he was granted any immunity for Jan 6 2021 has now set a very dangerous precedent for our country and like I said its very clear that the conservative majority on this courts allegiance is to Donald Trump and not to protecting, preserving, and doing whats in the best interest of our country. I also wonder if this court actually used examples from history or from the Constitution to guide them in making this decision because ultimately I dont think they did I think they just made this up because they like the idea of having a Republican president more than they do about making the right decision to preserve the safety of our democracy and even though I'm somewhat glad that they didnt grant Trump absolute immunity I dont necessairly agree that this was the right decision. It be one thing if Trump committed a crime that was less serious than what he did on Jan 6 2021 then I could see a reason for partial immunity but what he did on Jan 6 2021 to me is just way too serious of a crime and way too much of a threat to this countrys safety and the safety of our democracy for him to be granted any immunity for his actions on Jan 6 2021. Maybe the court feels in someway that they did the right thing here by only granting him partial immunity but I still disagree with the decision and still dont think any immunity should of been granted here to Trump in my opinion this is just too serious of a crime and its not because Trump is a Republican and that people just dont want a Republican president its because Trump is dangerous and a threat to democracy. He has already implied at the debate this past Thursday that if he loses again this November that he will do this again if he loses and if he truly only has partial immunity for Jan 6 2021 then I think we deserve an answer from this court or from someone what if anything surrounding his actions on Jan 6 that he can be prosecutedd for because he should not just be able to get away with this scot free. Also he will do this again if he loses in November so in someways I think this court has opened a pandoras box that cant be closed there should be no immunity what so ever for trying to overthrow the government in an effort to stay in power in my opinion, I dont care if the person is a Democrat or Republican and the fact that this court thinks that this case brought against Trump was brought because of political reason proves that they ddont understand the seriousness of it. Bottom line I want to say that this court somewhat did the right think here by only giving Trump partial immunity instead of full but they wont really be doing the right thing in the end because its clear now Trump wont go to trial before the election because their going to send this back to Judge Chutkan to determine which of Trump acts are entitled and not entitled to immunity and if god forbid if Trump wins in November which for the sake of our democracy and everything thats at stake in this election, I hope he doesnt but if he wins then this case goes away so the bottom line is he will only face some level of criminal accountability and consequences if he loses the election in November. Soo again the US Supreme Court here may think it somewhat did the right thing by granting him partial immunity but they really havent because the right thing here would of been to give him no immunity because he is simply too much of a unhinged threat to our democracy and like I said he will do this again we will get a repeat of Jan 6 if he loses again which again for the sake of our democracy and everything thats at stake in this election lets hope he does.
