    The only thing that would make this any better is if the USB C was an input that allowed charging from a USB power pack or car USB.
    And before you say why? The USB QC protocol now allows you to charge @20v 1.8amps.

    Nice charger, like many other nice chargers these days. In my experience, it's always good practice to calibrate the charger before you use it for the first time: Unfortunately, some batches have an incorrect (dangerous) initial setup in some brands!

    Are you sure that it automatically selects the correct battery type? Most of these smart chargers will select the LiPo profile by default. Check it by connecting another type, like LiHv or LiFe.

      For the most part, Yes, it selects the correct battery type.

    Is this the same charger that Horizon Hobby put their name on to sell as their Smart Charger? I have the HH Spektrum Smart checker and it’s just a rebranded ISDT checker.

    May i ask (using the D6 dual lite and T240 power supply) what would be the max amp per channel charge rate with two 6s batteries being charged at once?

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Each channel is 15 amps. There could be a difference in max due to the power source, but I have not checked it out.

      @MaxBreak 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks for the speedy reply, i would be interested in knowing the max 6s charge rate with the same charger/power supply combo reason being, i have a DIY electric 12s mountainboard and use 2 x 6s 14000ah lipos, looking for a field/portable charging set up that will fit in the backpack, and give me about 12amp a channel.

    Do you have any suggestions for identifying which battery is charged or discharged when there are multiple batteries that are identical. Just got my 1st drone, bought a Nocchi to learn on and I got the 3 battery deal.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes... just use a battery tester. You plug the balance plug into the tester. They cost around $20 or less.

  • @ChainsawFPV

    Why do they have to make power packs separate? It seems as a charger is a good price, then they tell you you need to spend another 60 bucks to plug it in......

    • @richardb8492
      @richardb8492 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is an option for a built in power supply but for those like me that charge batteries in the field there is no point carrying the extra weight.
      Check out the pro version on his link. It also has a higher output rating @650watts total power.

    If you take care of your lipos they can last for years. I've got some that are at least 5 years old.

    • @ValFPV
      @ValFPV 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Let me guess.. You are using them for a pretty low power application? Because if you use them near their amp limit (which many 1/8th scale cars and fpv quads do) They usually have really bad punch after 2 years or so. And let's not talk about LIHV, they don't last at all in my experience. Probably just standard lipos that claim they can be overcharged lol.

    • @richardb8492
      @richardb8492 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have some packs from when we made lipo packs before lipo batteries were a thing for the RC hobby (20 years ago) that still work and balance fine but like VFPV said they are relics with no guts and I'd be lucky to pull .1C from these batteries.

    Very nice, i use Junsi 4010 Charger , It would be nice ,when it would be possible to use, it for DJI or other Batterys. I dont understand why they build the Balancerboard inside the Battery. I hate this included Smartphone Charger.It would be better that they put out +and - and the Balance connector , to go direct on a better Charger

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is all designed for beginners. Imagine someone new to drones having to also know how to charge a battery correctly. DJI and other camera drone companies keep things simple for beginners at the expensive of overpriced batteries that really won't last that long due to how they charge.

    My my, you are being offensive today. Not every one wants to be an FPV pilot. The FPV world of drones is like racing cars in the world of cars. The camera drones are like the normal cars you drive on the road. But just because you are not an FPV pilot does not mean that a you are a beginner, just that you have a different hobby.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh oh, I believe someone is made of glass and marked fragile. The video is made very clear from the start that if you only fly Camera Drones then you are stuck with what came in the box. This is the reality of the world. In that box you received a lipo battery and charger, and that is pretty much most ever know about batteries. But the reality is that the rest of the RC Hobby world is not like that and you actually have to buy a battery charger and know how to charge batteries safely, which also gives you flexibility to do all the things to the battery that you can't do in the camera drone world. Are you still feeling overly sensitive? Explore the RC Hobby, I'm sure there is much out there you would enjoy.
