Then, in a post-credits scene, as Megatron's lifeless remains float through empty space, an ominous light flashes in the distance. And then this music suddenly plays. That would have been *AWESOME.*

Here's a hint: as a general real, unless otherwise specified, you don't assume someone has a special resistance to something that's never brought up. You're supposed to assume they don't. Also, Unicorn? Ha! Why is it for being such a great character, Unicron's name can be so easily and hilariously misspelled?
"Your bargaining posture is highly dubious..." I doubt anyone on Michael Bay's team can come up with a line that sophisticated in this day and age. 1986 Unicron was the ultimate badass with the greatest voice and perfect theme music. Great work on this!
Okay: I have two counterpoints, even though I think this movie was better than the Bayformers movies. 1: Bay’s movies are more lighthearted: the characters are more often witty than threatening: An example is Jazz’s death: Megatron drops the pun of the century as he delivers probably the most brutal kill of that movie (“No, I want two!”). The ‘86 movie was nothing but dark for most of the runtime: There were light-hearted bits, but the tone is set immediately in the opening with the Decepticons rushing the Autobot warship and killing much-loved characters such as Ratchet and Ironhide (think I got that right, been a while since I saw it). They kill fan-favourites within the first five minutes, and IIRC Optimus doesn’t even survive an hour even with that badass charge. ‘86 is a bloodbath even compared to Bayformers: the only main cast Autobots to survive ‘86 if memory serves are Bumblebee and Arcee, as well as Ultra Magnus if you don’t consider him a secondary character! 2: Bay’s movies do have badass lines: they mostly come from Optimus, however. A good example would be “I rise, you fall.” from ROTF: that was a great callback to ‘86, and it was the perfect one-liner. But Cullen’s delivery meant that what would be cheesy from anyone else became truly badass. The writing isn’t quite the quality of what we had 30-40 years ago, but Bay’s writing is both a product of our own time, and of his own style. He directs differently than how Nelson Shin did in the 80s, simple as that. Comparing Bay’s movie to the 1986 movie is like comparing the MCU to the comics. The comics often have far less humour and a lot darker story than the kid-proofed, slightly cheesy movies, and they’re also less afraid to kill characters: How many times has Captain America died (At least once)? Or Iron Man (I can think of at least three separate times)? Heck, Vision accidentally nuked St. John’s once in a comic! I agree that Micheal Bay wasn’t the perfect choice to make the Transformers movies (It’s hard to do Transformers justice, to be honest), but damned if he didn’t try his best, and he did still manage to jumpstart what was a dying franchise at the time and give it another chance. He revived the franchise, whether we choose to thank him or vilify him for his work.
I love both this movie and bayformers, both have great lines and amazing music and animation even though the 1986 movie is more consistent in quality. Can transformers fans praise any non-bay media without shitting on the bay movies? And good lines (badass is a farcical term) only from Optimus? Megatron had some great and genuinely thought provoking ones. ‘Is the survival of our race not worth a single human life?’ ‘Cybertron you are saved... at last’ Carly: was it all worth it? Megs: ‘obviously’ OP: ‘You have no soul!’ Galvatron: ‘That is why I have no fear. You die!’ I do like the ‘I rise! You fall’ from Optimus not because it’s ‘badass’ but because it’s terrifying. Especially with the framing and the music
I love the despair that carries through the intensity of the song. When something of Unicron's magnitude and purpose crosses your path, there is no hope, no chance of reprieve. No miracles. A really powerful piece by Vince DiCola. Which sounds even better in this orchestral version.

+The Golden King Starscream's disloyalty was one of the things that made him a cool and unique decepticon. A trait that was lost in Michael Bay's version. I've never seen Transformers: Dark of the Moon. It's probably not worth watching.

+Chris Tubestinks True to that... Starscream disloyalty and strife in the Decepticon tradition for leadership was good and unique among the D-ranks ... only with the same slimmery voice of Cobra Commander (Chris Latta) and lack of spine made him also annoying to some point of a simple backstabber. If Starscream had the voice of Shockwave or of his fellow Seekers it would have raise the sympathy for him.
Most terrifying scifi monster ever. Reading Unicron's backstory shows that he can never be killed, since he is a part of nature; namely Chaos, Evil, and Destruction. The evil of the Decepticons can even be drawn back to Unicron's taint during the creation of the universe. It doesn't matter how hard you fight, how much you sacrifice, Unicron always comes back, and will not stop until all universes have been devoured. So technically speaking, in every transformers series, it is the same Unicron. With how many close calls against him there are, it makes you wonder how many realities he has devoured.
@@stealthattack2209 He literally almost does. Uses Starscream and Octane and nearly gets them to turn Cybertron into his new body. Happens in Season 3, if I remember correctly. The way Unicron gets described in the further canon of Transformers, is as the eventual end of reality. Primus created life, Unicron destroys life. Unicron fears the Matrix because it is a piece of Primus, hence it's mere presence causes Unicron pain, and the opening of it inside him blows his body apart. But the body is just matter, while the "soul" still lives on. So long as life can die, Unicron won't.
@@Kryojenix All science fiction turns into fantasy at some point. There is no actual science as to what energon is, nor how a Spark grants life. Arthur C. Clark, one of the greatest science fiction authors said that "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." In Star Trek, Spock can copy his entire mind into another person by touching their face, and Diana Troi can send psychic waves through starship shields while the most powerful weapons cannot. That's magic, and yet Star Trek is still called one of the greatest science fiction series. The idea is that Unicron and Primus are part of whatever "Big Bang" event created everything. It isn't magic, but the very fabric of the universe and of reality itself. Science still can't explain a lot about the universe, since somethings are just beyond what we can understand at the moment. So don't think of it as magic, just as something that no modern math or science can yet explain.
*A shame that most people who watched the live action films probably never heard of Unicron. I almost wish that they'd watch even one clip of the original Unicron or even Unicron from Transformers Prime. Then they'd know true power ... and perhaps wet themselves.* *To those who mock Unicron? I know OminousVoice used a synthesizer to pull this off, but I still can't process that fact. I think if they have an actual orchestra play this music in the future, folks are gonna LOVE IT!!!!!
Good, but it would've been greater with Unicron's transformation bit. I think that Unicron's initial appearance and planet-eating capabilities made most of us crap our pants, but when he transformed into his robot form and started wrecking Cybertron, I think that was the moment when we realized just how powerful he could get. Even though he eventually fell, of course.

That would be a nice twist since originally Orson Welles was in mind to be Darth Vader, but they would probably unfortunately use AI technology for most of his lines, since he is getting older.
I'm not saying they wouldn't be awesome but just about everyone always says either Benedict Cumberbatch or Idris Elba should play every single role lol.
This is incredibly ominous which I love but my favorite Unicron theme is the theme in Transformers: Armada (PS2 game) titled Cyberton #2. The soundtrack is an absolute masterpiece.

I cant explain the effect what this version of unicron's theme had on me. But is good. It takes me back to my childhood. reminds me of when the movie came out, how I would sit down every evening to watch it on VHS :) It just contains how epic the movie and the character Unicron was. It's...I can't put into words how... breathtaking this song is...the piece is sad, and makes you feel kinda... hopeless and empty, even though it's beautiful at the same time... really gives you an insight into what Unicron is and what he stands for... just amazing.
This is actually very well done. The boldness of the full strings was an interesting choice. Overall well done. If only a Vince DiCola or a Graeme Revell or a Harry Gregson Williams had the chance to do something like this.
Only in the cartoon. Most other sources, notably the comics, have him as a primordial being, an embodiment of chaos. He's a dimensional singularity, meaning there is only one Unicron across all universes. One fanwanky explanation for the Primacron origin is that Unicron had him construct a body for his consciousness to inhabit.
Gives the vibes of something huge and from space, a treath so masive that you could say it's the end of the World because a planet is coming to eat your's and all in it
Holy hell... Composers need to remember that techno sounds are all well and good, but *nothing* gets the spine tingling and hair stood on end like orchestral music... Simply fantastic.

Maybe, but you cannot deny you feel this rendition of the song pulsating with overwhelming evil just like the original, The Daleks by Murray Gold, and The Imperial March by John Williams. when these songs play I swear I hear someone in the background quoting a certain protocol droid: "We're doomed!"

Man, a really excellent orchestration! Sounds like Vince DiCola got himself an orchestra. LOL Deffinitely one of the best themes from his score and you've done it extreme justice, my friend. :D My only suggestion would be to give the trumpets a bigger role. It's very bassy. But damn, I love this piece!
This will sound odd, but this music is exactly the kind of score a new Star Wars trilogy needs. Something grand, haunting, with a touch of retro synth to distinguish it from the Skywalker/John Williams era. I'd like to see a story from SW antiquity, either with the Old Republic or even something earlier. With proto-lightsabers, force wizards, etc. Really go all in with the fantasy elements.
If there is to be another Transformers movie, I want the studio to release trailers of some absolute un-universe SHITE. The fans would still go, expecting the crap in the trailers. Lights off, and suddenly, this theme starts playing, and the text appears over some planet's surface rushing by. "Remember the trailers? Yeah, well... We lied. Enjoy." i think part of why unicron hasnt felt so deadly since the 86 movie is nobody has used a version of the theme alongside his return...the theme is as important to unicron as unicron is himself...
I love how it sounds like there's actually two things happening here: 1. The internal workings of Unicron itself creating sounds 2. The despairing cries of whoever lives on the world Unicron is bearing down upon, as they realize that they are doomed. There is no escaping what's coming. While Unicron's noises are loud and the dominant thing you hear, you can still hear the cries of the doomed- and they both stop at the same time. I can picture Unicron continuing on its path of destruction and death across the cosmos- and where a planet teeming with life once spun in its dance around its star, there is only the void.
The Polack I'll never understand Michael Bay. He starts out strong, but then focuses too much on human drama whereas the titular characters are waiting on the outside to actually do something. At least the new TMNT movie was awesome, but the last Transformers movie did leave something to be desired - I only liked it for the voice actors portraying the Autobots/Decepticons.
Wielding Eminator Michael Bay's more interested in special effects than the actual story, so no one but little kid will like his movies (because of all the explosions), but then again, parents probably won't let their kids watch because of all the violence and swearing. The end result is that no one wants to watch his movies.
Unicron is basically the scariest thing in all of Transformers. I'm still horrified by the 86 G1 film's opening scene where he crushes and devours Lithone. And in my stories, i have a major villain character in my GEM TITANS Franchise and SU fanfics named GEMMACRON, Messier M55, or the Sunflower Galaxy. She appears as a GIANT yellow spiral galaxy with horns and a single ring that goes around all around her galaxial form.
Sleet King Not really, Unicron came into existance after Big Bang, Galactus is being from universe that was destroyed by it. Plus Unicron came in 80., while Galactus came in 60./70.
Captain Ferox Ehm, Unicron predates the Big Bang. The Big Bang was formed out of tiny fragments Unicron missed then he ate the previous universe (yes, he even ate stars and the fabric of spacetime). This score makes me think of impending doom, which is exactly what Unicron represents. Would have made for a great boss theme as well!

+The Golden King Starscream's disloyalty was one of the things that made him a cool and unique decepticon. A trait that was lost in Michael Bay's version. I've never seen Transformers: Dark of the Moon. It's probably not worth watching.

Starscream disloyalty and strife in the Decepticon tradition for leadership was good and unique among the D-ranks ... only with the same slimmery voice of Cobra Commander (Chris Latta) and lack of spine made him also annoying to some point of a simple backstabber. If Starscream had the voice of Shockwave or of his fellow Seekers it would have raise the sympathy for him.

Most terrifying scifi monster ever. Reading Unicron's backstory shows that he can never be killed, since he is a part of nature; namely Chaos, Evil, and Destruction. The evil of the Decepticons can even be drawn back to Unicron's taint during the creation of the universe.
It doesn't matter how hard you fight, how much you sacrifice, Unicron always comes back, and will not stop until all universes have been devoured. So technically speaking, in every transformers series, it is the same Unicron. With how many close calls against him there are, it makes you wonder how many realities he has devoured.
I found that to be a really, really silly backstory for a cartoon I had hitherto thought of as science-fiction and not abject theocratic fantasy.

The way Unicron gets described in the further canon of Transformers, is as the eventual end of reality. Primus created life, Unicron destroys life.
Unicron fears the Matrix because it is a piece of Primus, hence it's mere presence causes Unicron pain, and the opening of it inside him blows his body apart. But the body is just matter, while the "soul" still lives on. So long as life can die, Unicron won't.

In Star Trek, Spock can copy his entire mind into another person by touching their face, and Diana Troi can send psychic waves through starship shields while the most powerful weapons cannot. That's magic, and yet Star Trek is still called one of the greatest science fiction series.
The idea is that Unicron and Primus are part of whatever "Big Bang" event created everything. It isn't magic, but the very fabric of the universe and of reality itself. Science still can't explain a lot about the universe, since somethings are just beyond what we can understand at the moment.
So don't think of it as magic, just as something that no modern math or science can yet explain.

I think that Unicron's initial appearance and planet-eating capabilities made most of us crap our pants, but when he transformed into his robot form and started wrecking Cybertron, I think that was the moment when we realized just how powerful he could get.

It takes me back to my childhood. reminds me of when the movie came out, how I would sit down every evening to watch it on VHS :) It just contains how epic the movie and the character Unicron was. It's...I can't put into words how... breathtaking this song is...the piece is sad, and makes you feel kinda... hopeless and empty, even though it's beautiful at the same time... really gives you an insight into what Unicron is and what he stands for... just amazing.
This is actually very well done. The boldness of the full strings was an interesting choice. Overall well done.

The death bringer, the primordial annhilator, unicron is the death of all things. This song covers that perfectly.
This will sound odd, but this music is exactly the kind of score a new Star Wars trilogy needs. Something grand, haunting, with a touch of retro synth to distinguish it from the Skywalker/John Williams era. I'd like to see a story from SW antiquity, either with the Old Republic or even something earlier. With proto-lightsabers, force wizards, etc. Really go all in with the fantasy elements.

I love how it sounds like there's actually two things happening here:
1. The internal workings of Unicron itself creating sounds
2. The despairing cries of whoever lives on the world Unicron is bearing down upon, as they realize that they are doomed. There is no escaping what's coming.
While Unicron's noises are loud and the dominant thing you hear, you can still hear the cries of the doomed- and they both stop at the same time. I can picture Unicron continuing on its path of destruction and death across the cosmos- and where a planet teeming with life once spun in its dance around its star, there is only the void.
The despair caused by Unicron... As if he is coming... The echos of their hopeless deaths

I'll never understand Michael Bay. He starts out strong, but then focuses too much on human drama whereas the titular characters are waiting on the outside to actually do something. At least the new TMNT movie was awesome, but the last Transformers movie did leave something to be desired - I only liked it for the voice actors portraying the Autobots/Decepticons.
Didn't get to see Ninja Turtles yet... I'm hoping I'll like it.

Michael Bay's more interested in special effects than the actual story, so no one but little kid will like his movies (because of all the explosions), but then again, parents probably won't let their kids watch because of all the violence and swearing. The end result is that no one wants to watch his movies.
When I hear this, I get an image of Kronos and the Titains marching down their mountain to face Zeus and the Olympians in mortal combat.

Unicron is basically the scariest thing in all of Transformers. I'm still horrified by the 86 G1 film's opening scene where he crushes and devours Lithone. And in my stories, i have a major villain character in my GEM TITANS Franchise and SU fanfics named GEMMACRON, Messier M55, or the Sunflower Galaxy. She appears as a GIANT yellow spiral galaxy with horns and a single ring that goes around all around her galaxial form.

Plus Unicron came in 80., while Galactus came in 60./70.
Captain Ferox Ehm, Unicron predates the Big Bang. The Big Bang was formed out of tiny fragments Unicron missed then he ate the previous universe (yes, he even ate stars and the fabric of spacetime).
