    After watching one your reviews a few years ago, I purchased the ESP LTD 1000T CTM. The EMG 81/85s still scream pinched harmonics. ESP produces great guitars. Thanks for the review.

    EMG 81/85 are the best for high gain no doubt. but a lot of people don't realize how good their clean is too. I love those pickups.

    • @offbeatbassgear
      @offbeatbassgear 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A really fine point to make. My ESP LTD 401FM has an EMG 81 and a 60 and the clean tone is really quite remarkable for a guitar for five hundred.

    I own this guitar and despite not having a tremolo, this guitar is the best I've owned. I wish ESP would make an MH with a Wilkinson bridge or a bridge similar to those found on the Ibanez AZ series (no locking nut, more range than a standard tremolo). A splittable bridge humbucker and a single coil for the neck would be the best setup. Similar to this year's LTD model black cherry fade MH1000HS this year but with different pickups, different bridge.

    I’d love to try a guitar with the Evertune bridge and TrueTemp fanfrets... that would be a delight for recording and stay in tune.

  • @ericjam6346
    @ericjam6346 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The Evertune bridge definitely looks interesting. I was hoping you would go into more detail on the fine tuning aspect as I am not quite certain how that works. But, I really like how one tool handles all the adjustments.

    How high are the ever tunes compared to a hard tail? I do really like this guitar but I also seriously like the MH-1000 Hard tail (comes with same tuners I think, not sure about body or neck) and fishman fluence pickups.
    Right now I have a ESP LTD EC-1000 in vintage matte black, it plays wonderfully and I do play on keeping it cause I love les pauls and this is like a metal guys dream les paul style guitar, except it stays in tune, isn't prone to neck breakage and has EMG 81 on bridge and 60 on neck. I had an RGA for while with a hardtail and got used to playing with those, then got this guitar and as much as I love it and still want to be able to play it I want another hardtail guitar so I don't have to float my hand or rest it on the edge of the bridge cause I find it harder to be percise with switch to whatever string I'm gonna pick next if its a far jump.
    How hard from a tune-o-matic do you think it is height wise?

    thinking of getting this as my Mick Thomson guitar, he once used 81/85 and it's simply a high quality 25.5 scale chunk of mahogany, which I think will be better than value than his signature Jackson considering this is made in Korea

  • @mars6433
    @mars6433 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I LIKE ESP/LTD, but, (OH DEAR LORD !! HERE WE GO !) that bridge takes out such a significant hunk of a guitar !! Also, I've never needed a guitar that wouldn't allow me to even vibrato a note. If someone is having a real problem with a guitar not staying in tune, it's a setup issue. Now, when playing LIVE, under hot lights etc., I'm sure it's cool, but, I have a BOSS TU-2, so....btw, TTK ROCKS !!

    • @mars6433
      @mars6433 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry. I meant that "at a certain setting" you can't bend or vibrato and I don't see much need for that.

    • @InfiltrateDestroy93
      @InfiltrateDestroy93 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean you definitely can bend and vibrato using an ever tune. Matt Heafy has one on his guitars and he has it set tight and can still bend/vibrato....

    • @bdamotta
      @bdamotta 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It takes out about as much wood as your average Floyd Route. I agree, for me, the setting to prevent any and all vibrato is only useful in very situational circumstances. If I am tracking something and just want to whale on the guitar like a barbarian to try and convey that vibe without going outta tune, sure... it's great for that. I purchased this exact model last year to finally try the Evertune for myself. For me, the big thing that I was not expecting was the confidence that comes with never having to worry about your tuning. I found that I was using it over both my ESP (not LTD) guitars without it every time. Both for playing live/rehearsal and recording. All I can say is try one for yourself. You might be surprised.

    Love LTD guitars just as much as TKs white Charvel! Excellent demo TK!

  • @ronnienose8608
    @ronnienose8608 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    That guitar must be a rhythm guitarist's dream. Looks lovely, just the pointy headstock that might put me off. I've had a few Charvel, Jackson and Ibanez guitars over the years, down to my last 90s Japanese Jackson that I need to sell; not into the Floyds or pointy headstocks any more. Sorry for going off at a tangent there TTK! That ESP is impressive and you get a great deal for your money.

    Yeah!..The "EverTune " is very reliable !....I have had one since 2014 ( In one of the original " VGS - Radioactive TD-Special Pro ...the pickups are EMG 2x SLV single and 85 in bridge "...with a 24 Fret True Temperament Medium Fret System... THX for your channel.

    An excellent review!! I am just about sold on this guitar. I wonder if this model is a set-neck or neck thru and what frets are we looking at here? One more question, are these locking tuners? Thanks TK..

    A classic 'troll hiccup' (thanks Phil McKnight) at 2:30 'of course we LOVE passive p/ups'
    As far as the ever-tune I just can't see wanting to have this on multiple guitars. For a gigging instrument could be great. But as a daily driver.. still like the Floyd or a good set of locking tuners

    I want an Ltd with a Floyd for my Next guitar right now I just have squier strat want to be able to play heavier music sometimes when I’m not focusing on blues and use a whammy bar still be in tune .. can’t afford an Ltd though unfortunately

    • @InfiltrateDestroy93
      @InfiltrateDestroy93 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bruce Kelly don’t go straight to a floyd if you want to mess about with different tunings. You will find it annoying as fuck if you want to go from standard to drop D to Drop C etc.

    Hey ToneKing, what do you think about the ESP LTD EC 401 with EMG 81/60 Pickups? I am a Zakk Wylde big fan so I was thinking about buying that beauty. I don’t mind about the EMG 60, I love that pickup for bluesy tones too and I use the 81 for Metal Tones. Like always, you make the best videos ever!

      Bro I recommend you schecter solo ll custom, I think a better guitar for a similar price, brings compound radius 12 "to 16" which is essential for low actions without fret buzz and greater comfort in chords in the first frets and ease in leads in the frets higher than 12 fret, Mother of Pearl Blocks plus that natural color and trans black is gorgeous. Guitars made in Korea as the LTD series 1000.

      You can also see the solo ll custom apocalypse reign red that is spectacular with that back translucent matte. Side dote markers glow in the dark, swamp ash body, stainless steel frets, Roman numerals.
