    Just got this guitar yesterday. My first premium guitar. I played a ltd ec256 with a emg81 in it for the last 5 years. This is a huge improvement.

    @8:38 You should try a Jackson MIJ DKR - MAH ... it is exactly what you are describing.

    Funny you mention the offset dots, they aren't typically supposed to have those. I see them pop up every once in awhile on Sweetwaters in stock section and it's always been on the Indonesian models from what I've seen. I have a MIK one with the traditional dots that I love, but you're right the offsets do look better and more modern. I have to disagree about the neck though, I'm not a shredder by any means (I do play metal rhythm guitar but also a lot of pop punk), but I love the neck profile and feel, and I do enjoy the width of the neck too as i have bigger hands. I don't feel the abrupt edge like you described but rather a gentle slope to the edge. Could just be a difference between our examples or just our hands but the neck fits my hands perfectly and feels natural. Different strokes for different folks and all that. Enjoyed the thoughtfulness put into the review. Cheers

      Thanks for the comment. Yes I agree, we all like different types of shapes and sizes and that ok. Honestly I do like the guitar despite the sharp neck edge and you’re right, it could very well be just my example that came out this way.

    nice play! I'm saving my money for this guitar for 18 months right now.. just 6 more months and I can afford it :)

      At least you have your priorities straight! Better to have the cash rather than buying on credit. 👍

    totally with you on the whole "we need a flat shredder neck" on almost every metal/ super strat style guitar and it's pissing me off lately. I am about to purchase my next guitar but almost every guitar that checks all the boxes and has caught my eye for sometime, ends up scratched off my list due to the super uncomfortable shitty shredder neck. I actually wish they would offer at least two different neck shapes for each guitar but that is just a dream!

      I've been really digging Scheters and Charvels especially for their neck profiles. Maybe check those out if you feel inclined. Best of luck with whatever you ultimately go with my man!

    I have a LTD JM-II and I have the exact same complaint about the neck….also not a fan of Ibanez necks. It sounds and plays so good, that I deal with it. But I like a thicker neck, personally.

    (Transfering my comment here :D )
    Interesting coincidence: I am actually looking at this guitar and Amarok 😂
    Returned LTD H3-1000 because I can't play on TOM bridge, returned Ibanez, because QC is not great, now left with these too :) What can you suggest? In terms of overall feel and pickups?
    On this LTD I only hate how sloppy that glossy black paint ends, looks awful for its price...

    Your tone settings are absolutely killer, can't wait for M1000 to show up, hoping for January but my EC has yet to show up and it's been well over a year for that haha

    Was gonna get that in the 7 string version but i went with a solar s17 and I'm glad i did because it was so good i own two solars now. But i absolutely love the finish on this guitar, I'll probably pick one up someday.😊

    Some of the same specs as my E-II. Hipshot bridge, Fishmans, reverse headstock, same inlays. Wonders what the main differences are. Mine got the Amethyst Sparkle finish. Had the Schecter SLS Elite with many of the same specs too, even with the antique fade burst. But the neck felt like a toothpick. Much prefere the thicker neck on the E-II.

    Can you recommend a Charvel model that I should try? I’ve got two esp and I’ve been wanting to give Charvel a go because everyone seems to love them. Old Japanese ones seem to be ranted about.

      I love my dk24’s but the San Dimas models are great too. I did a few vids on them awhile back. Charvels are great guitars and easy to play imo.

    I actually bought the Schecter equivalent of this guitar. I still want to rip all of the fishmans out of both guitars that have fishmans and get more EMGs. The fishmans just sound hollow to me. I am thinking about getting the mh-1000 but I really don’t want to have to swap yet another guitar. Wish esp would go back to EMG.

    • @digital360
      @digital360  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree with you. I'm tired of the fisherman sound. I have EMG Retoactive hot 70s in another guitar and I dont mind them so much. Overall, I think I'm leaning towards passive though going forward.

      @@digital360 I couldn`t resist and bought this one as well :( As an owner of both LTD M1000 HT and Charvel Pro DK24 ,
      So far it`s superior to Charvel DK24 from various aspects especially better fretboard comfort and workmanship overall. The only thing I didn`t love is the active fishmans I guess. I`m so used to Seymour Duncan over years so they sound a bit weird, without emotions.. But overall it`s a good metal guitar with solid construction. This hip shot bridge was a must so I choose it. I may swap the pickups one day, but it could be also a result of my little Marshall DSL1 tube amp. Because it sounded better when I was back in the guitar shop, with Blackstar amp.

  • @brandonbryson3317
    @brandonbryson3317 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Btw do you still have this guitar? Despite me agreement on the extra thin U being a little fatiguing…I am still considering it cause I legit think the LTD JM-II is the best sounding guitar I have for metal stuff and want a counterpart for tuning more in E and E flat. I keep my JM in D/Drop C/C# range.

    • @digital360
      @digital360  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, unfortunately I sent this back. I couldn’t really get along with the seemingly extra wide “sharp” neck.

    • @brandonbryson3317

      @@digital360 man it’s like LTD is the look I want and Schecter is the specs I want. Just gonna enjoy both. I’m pretty adaptable to necks but not big into the extra thin U or the Ibanez Wizard.

    That's funny you mentioned the lacquer neck, I had a fit and sent off an email to a well-known guitar company here in America and basically put them on blast for using lacquer on 95% of their necks and I said exactly the same thing you said nobody likes this why do you keep doing it, I can find more people that hate it than like it.
    I know it will fall on deaf ears but it made me feel better

    • @digital360

      You don’t get the 3rd voicing on this guitar as you do with other fishman loaded guitars such as the Tim Henson Ibanez.

    So is yours made in Korea or Indo? I have seen a lot of this guitar with the offset inlays made in Korea and the straight inlays made Indo. I love this guitar and its on my short list, but I wont buy any guitar thats made in Indo from any company. I have had bad experiences with every guitar I have ever had that was Indo made. Thanks for the video. I am subscribed now.
