I remember I had a friend who may not have been conventionally attractive. It's interesting because I didn't notice it then. When you like someone, you don't notice those things. I tried to understand where his problem was and why others didn't give him any chances that I did. I guess knowing someone since grade school makes you face blind. Not anymore.
Believe it or not even grown ups do this too. Social media has warped our minds.
I've always had this same view amongst my friends, i guess theres way too many things worth more than pure appearance in friendships.

Yeah. I'm 62, Mom is 86 and really, she's fantastic. Not complaining or clingy or anything: she still lives independently and I have my own home and just finished a fantastic career. The week after I retired, I went to see her and we talked about how all I did was work; she let slip that she had always wished for grandchildren from me...I just changed the subject. She thinks I would be able to attract a women. I never admitted to her what she can't see: I am a profoundly ugly man. My entire life, I've asked countless women out and never succeeded. After 50, I just gave it up.

A lot of it can be improved with rigorous routines, but at a point genetics do matter, that doesn't mean you should give up and be unhealthy, fat, and unhygienic.
I’m tired of being ugly. I’m always sad, angry, and hurt. Hurt of the way I’ve been treated for something I can’t control. I’m just so exhausted and I can’t wait to die. My life is horrible, I wouldn’t wish it on the worst of the worst. It’s so much pain and misery and for what? All I know is the day I pass away is the day I’ll rest. And if there’s an afterlife, I hope I die in that one too.
Edit: Y’all I am learning to love myself and those around me, and life is pretty okay now. I’m boosting my self confidence and I say this is some better improvement. :)
Try finding new hobbies, something to like,to look forward,keep yourself busy with healthy habbits,ik its a lot of work but itll at least make life a bit easier instead of eternal torment

Like, people nowadays would call some bloke who they go to school/uni/work with and maybe drink a round of beers or two & play videogames a "Friend". These aren't friends, these are your drinking buddies that won't commit and will ditch you the moment you need them. True friendship is hard to find, your best shot at it in adulthood is ironically to go to war and your brothers in arms become friends if you survive, or do some dangerous communal stuff, like alpinism or smth.

I'm not the most beautiful, but I know my ego. I know my strenghts and my weaknesses and I play with them. I'm very honest and it makes people laugh, I know I can make girls laugh, and a lot. I was purchasing a suit this afternoon because my best friend is getting married next month, and I started to speak with the cashier, a nice girl and I was joking about myself, my weight (I'm not fat but I have 5/6 kilos I could get rid of) and my short height and it made her burst in laughters. I'm pretty sure I could've asked her number if I were alone, which I wasn't (with the lads picking suits).
They like men who are honest with themselves without turning into a "me me me" show. A slight change of attitude is the beginning. Nathan overthinks way too much. He can't even appreciate when his friends try to make him feel better, he doesn't commit one bit and makes no effort whatsoever to blend in. He needs to find something special, his strength, and become the best at it.
I myself am very knowledgeable in language, literature and other stuff like history. I am to be teacher a in English, well I'm not bragging about when my friends are around but they always need me or think of me when there is something to translate from English to French, whenever there is a foreigner and I'm the only one to do the talking when we go abroad etc etc. I'm full of wit and when I speak, which is not all the damn time, it's funny, sharp and witty. Always makes an effect, even my colleagues find it very relevant.
And still I'm single. Just enjoy yourself and you'll find someone who will find your company and your personality pleasant and attractive, that's how the average and less than average looking people (should) do.
I like who I am and who I've become, with my (many) losses, failures but also wins sometimes. Nathan doesn't know shit about himself, he doesn't know what he likes to eat, drink or wear. He projects his insecurities and self hatred onto others, which, coincidentally, makes him less appealing due to his aura of negativity. And I know many things about negativity, I used to be Nathan at some point in my 20's. That guy is dead now, I got rid of him for good and I respect myself now and forever.

This is so fucking relatable, Doesn't help that I also have crippling social anxiety, im tired of the endless mocking, the name calling and talking behind my back. Im treated like dogshit but when I lash out on them they look at me like im crazy and have a short temper. I literally have no friends, never been in a relationship i live in my house with only my mom and shes at work a majority of the day so its really just me and my books. I think about ending it all one day but then I remember im only a freshmen and that my life would be to short to end. I watch in the distance as all the attractive douchbags sit around and do nothing, yet pull the baddest girls in the school. Then I look back at my life, working 4x as hard as them yet im getting not even a fraction of the happiness they have. I feel I have greatness in me but who's to care for somone like me. It's like people don't even acknowledge your presence, girls always called me a creep and It finally broke me when I tried to get with my 1st grade crush that liked me years ago. She rejected me and called me ugly just destroyed any confidence I had.
The fact you let your own dignity, autonomy, self-esteem, self-value, and self-respect be dictated by something superficial and hollow. You let yourself be jealous of some hot guys? You let yourself be unhappy and depressed because you're ugly? Pathetic. And, to hammer down the message, it's inauthentic. Patheticness is in fact understatement. You won't even find true happiness if you magically become hot and sexy, you only find true happiness within yourself that is stable and internal. Yes, you're in fact having 4x to work hard, it's okay to be unhappy about those things, but don't let it misguide you to true happiness. holy, I never met anyone who was balding in early 20s. it must suck, I'm sorry guys. well you know what, hair implants are there and they aren't that expensive or invasive. sure toxic stuff but hey, if you want to try it, they're still there. it's such a rare case to be balding so early I really don't see it often...

One would need too many grafts and probably wont have enough in his donor area for good coverage, not to mention that it will be extremely expensive if you want it to look good (cheap HTs are a meme and they always look bad/ botched).
Even if it's not aggressive and progressed too far, in the case of a HT, the newly transplanted hair is safe (not actually, but hey) and the donor area too, but all the other hair continues to miniaturize. You will always need another transplant after that and eventually run out of donor hair.
You need to either 1. get lucky and have your hair stabilize at some point or 2. get on meds that stabilize and even regrow (you can take them to prevent balding in the first place, but the DHT blockers are risky for younger people like the character in this video).
I'm just writing this so people know this issue cannot be solved by just getting a HT. Probably the vast majority of people think "just go to Turkey bro". Then they also think people like the character in these videos have agency over their situation, when the truth is they are entirely at the mercy of their genes/ luck (if they can stabilize and not need further transplants or have enough donor hair to cover their end progression). Wigs, hair systems and SMP are an option tho.
I think the most relatable part of this is being bitter towards everyone else because they have something you just can't get. The fact that you are less valuable just because of the way you look. Having nobody be attracted to you means if you're naturally shy you lose all social skills and withdraw. With this, seeing normal looking people enjoy themselves pisses you off. You dont want to be in any pictures or even see your own reflection. You just don't have a sense of belonging. Especially when you do everything you can to try to at least fit some semblance of the beauty standard. Hopelessness turned into hate basically.

It's a tragedy. They say "Beautiful on the inside", in order to avoid the obvious truth, what really matters. The truth is, it's how you look that determines how your personality is received. It's an unfortunate, cruel truth, that being born a conventionally unattractive person automatically puts you at a disadvantage. Growing up being someone else's punching bag to increase their value in the social hierarchy, being told false lies. The people don't want to come off as shallow, or do something that can negatively impact their PR score in whatever social hierarchy they're apart of. Giving false hope to someone who never had any in the first place is a cruel joke. "Beautiful on the inside" is just something these people tell to avoid a topic that THEY feel deeply uncomfortable about. Someone who's unattractive being in these people's presence makes them uncomfortable, which then makes them see you in an awkward, negative light.
The truth is, Nathan never had a chance. No matter how hard he tries, there are simply some things that Nathan will never be able to do or achieve, simply because he drew the short straw. You see all these movies or shows about "the underdog", a story about going from "nothing" to something. But the thing about these characters is that they had the potential to be great from the start, it just needed to be realized. But what about someone like Nathan? Someone who never had the potential or hope in the first place? It's tough to write a character like this because it forces people to realize the unfortunate truth of reality, that REALITY IS NOT FAIR. And because reality isn't fair, these people constantly try to reaffirm their position that they got to where they are because of their own efforts and not because life didn't give them as shitty as a hand as others. They falsely delude themselves in order to avoid seeing the other POV of what life could have been like had they been given the wrong combination of genes. For people like Nathan, it's not about Perseverance, because you have to persevere for something, a shining hope, something to cling to, an expectation, but for Nathan, that's not the case. It's about Endurance. Enduring a pain that many people will never truly know about. They can try and understand, or feel a shred of sympathy or empathy, or simply partake in schadenfreude, but there will always be a gap between people like Nathan and normal society.
Reality is often viewed in terms of filters, filters that have been imposed on the person by their life experiences, and how reality has treated them. Nathan has a lot of time to think, to introspect, and this is because the only thing that awaits Nathan in the external world is nothing but false truths, awkward interactions, and the cold truth about life. Nathan then starts to view life through a negative filter, that anyone in his position would have eventually developed. You could say, "just try to change your mindset", "just be positive bro", or "just put yourself out there", but all those years of being tormented by reality when they were a kid, the time when your worldview is forming, will forever leave a permanent scar on the psyche. Reality is perceived subjectively, so is Nathan's view correct? Yes and No. It's just one of many interpretations, a path, but it's a path that no person should have to walk. Being ridiculed, avoided, tormented, having a body and mouth but no voice or presence. You just sort of "disappear", a walking anomaly. Only ever being acknowledged for the one thing that you can never change, it's a curse. Positivity just ends up being negative, and Negativity ends up being the interpretation, the reality of the situation. It's a sad, dark, and lonely story that's being told, but one that needs to be said.

The best thing about being not attractive is that is gets more easy with time, in my youth no girl ever approached me or even considered to give an answer. Now that i am reaching my 30´s i finally understood that girls(for the most part) are shallow and only wishes to have the best of guys. So even when i talk to girls nowadays i feel much more relaxed because i know that they will never flirt with me or even giving me false hope. I will definitely die alone, still i have my friends and family so i feel blessed in that regard. then yes, you did not try enough. i was bullied by everyone who knew me in my grade for having whacky hair and bad hygene, even thought i showered every day and put deodorant on when needed, brushed my teeth, i was clean, but people bullied me still. got to the point where i took knives to my throat and thought about ending it all because of them. one day, i thought about what i could do to stop that instead of whining, and i found what my strenght was, making people laugh. i wasn't that good looking, had a lot of acne but people still liked laughing with me by the end of secondary 5, i found a way to have charisma. i then tried acutane to get rid of my acne, grew my hair out so it would look more beautiful, trried looking more friendly with my eyes and guess what, it failed, i got falsely accused of some bad stuff because people at my job didn't like me, i didn't fit their snakey vibe, so i quit, got a depression, a real depression, couldn't do anything for a whole month before being able to even just say hello to a girl. i learned my lesson thought, talk less, listen to who is your company and adjust your limit to what you can say, thats how i got a girlfriend, but she was unstable, so was i, it didn't last long, got back into a depression, i haven't been able to find a job since but i've made friends, real friends who love me and i love them, i'm now charismatic, handsome and nice with people still. why? because my older selff would be ashamed of me if i was hard with people who are uglier or have it harder than me. I will say this, there is no failure big enough to make life not worth living, keep trying, we all make mistakes, you'll have ups, downs, but you'll certainly feel better than you do now. and remember, there is no light, without darkness. if you don't believe me thats fine but please read the entire thing if you think you're not enough. you matter to people, love yourself

Thanks for the videos. I am an ugly man, so I can relate to the "ugly character". I remember being in high school, I got insulted every once in awhile, but I figured it was random and happened to other people (ugly people get insulted, normies get treated with a baseline level of respect). Then, I was the victim to a prank, it was complex and involved atleast 1 guy and 2 girls to pull it off. I was not beat up, just got my hopes up that some average looking girl liked me, only to find they were jerking me around. That kind of thing would not happen to a normie.
As an adult, I tried online dating. In theory, anyone, man or woman should be open to meeting new people on a dating site, why else would they have created an online dating profile? I often got rejected by women ( they were lonely, but not so lonely as to date an ugly guy).
I once tried explaining online dating to a boomer. He said, maybe I was wearing the wrong cologne. I asked him, how do you were the wrong cologne for online dating, we never met in person. I think he accidently created a new insult. Imagine being so ugly, a woman can look at your picture ( I am not a slob, good hygiene) and gets the feeling you must smell bad.
From experience if you're average theres low chances you'll find someone only matches you'll get are below average or average women that won't reply to you or show interest and if you're under average don't even think about it you'll be lucky if you get even the most unattractive women to match with you and then they'll lose interest because they found someone better looking because girls will get matches no matter how they look and they'll obviously pick the better looking.

if you’re helplessly unattractive, the LEAST you can do is be kind. i’ve met people who don’t necessarily fit under the “conventionally attractive” index, and normally they’re the sweetest people i’ve become great friends with some of them. i’m no 10 myself, and i have to offset where i’m lacking in looks with personality and charisma. now, i have met some people who are already “ugly” by world standards AND have the nastiest attitude about everything, kinda like nate here. like i get it, life was probably mean to you but acting like that isn’t gonna help anything. cmon guys please it’s like if you were already a 4 but with shit personality you shot yourself down to a -1. congrats.
And if you’re a average looking guy, you’ll just be a third wheel or jester to the groups you hang out with, unless you find the right group, you’ll most of the time be that guy in the group

Unsustainable work environments and standards are making us unhealthier every day, so the average person has an even lower chance of reproducing or even getting a date. I remember in HS this girl who was a part of my general friend group told me that her friend like heard some video I was speaking in and said I had a nice voice so she asked to see what I looked like. She showed her a pic of me and her friend was like "oh, well at least he has a nice voice..." I dont even know why she felt the need to tell me that or what to say to it. It was this random little interaction just like in a hallway while we were waiting for rehearsal to start but I still think about that all the time. I remember it just destroying me for the next month or two

I was made fun of for my voice as a child. I had a deep voice and spoke like I had low blood pressure. My twin sister has the same thing. My younger sister gets complimented for her voice, but foreigners make fun of her for it, and the way she speaks, since it’s a typical valley girl dialect with some affectations of British RP.

Obese (I work with that), I have ugly face, I always look very tired (because I am), I am not short, but also not tall, I am pretty wide (like I have wide shoulders). I suppose that's what makes people never approach me. Even with that I am pretty interesting person in my opinion. The loneliness is killing me. Also my mind is a great pain to me as I have criticaly low self-esteem and I don't see any self-worth (result of loneliness and being bullied for half of my life)

@@bredi7811Start changing your eating habits and working out. If you actually have wide shoulders you’d have a really good frame after a while. It also helps give more structure to your face especially if you’re obese.

Do you actually do anything socially? If you’re version of being interesting is having a hobby like reading or hiking thats not interesting. Its such a dumb way of thinking yourself attractive and puts yourself in a shit mindset.
Start actually going out and meeting people. Join a fitness class to fix the obesity issue and actually meet people. I don’t want to be rude but these changes are not hard and most people just love to be their own obstacle in life cause its easier to self pity than actually motivate yourself.
@@bredi7811 You know the problems now try to fix them. Stop eating sugar and do some exercises, It is hard but you can. You'll have a better sleep, will be in better shape, you'll have more energy and you'll like yourself better. sometimes we cultivate our loneliness. Also, there is a lot of attractive people that feel lonely.

You should've included photo and reflection like things. I always avoid group photos, I don't have social medias except fb (without photos ofc.) and whenever I see my reflection in the phone/mirror/windows etc. I just turn away, because I don't want to see myself. Sometimes I feel like I have similiar power to Medusa, tho she turns others to stone and I turn myself into garbage, whenever I look.
