  • How to hit your driver straight - How do you get a CONSISTENT golf swing?
In this weeks golf instruction Im going to show you how in less than 15 minutes we were able to help a recent student James stop slicing the golf ball and hit his driver dead straight...
James still sliced the odd one throughout the session but with the 3 simple golf tips I gave him he knew what he was doing wrong and was able to instantly stop his slice and return to hitting the driver straight and far.
I know you could do this too.
    PRACTICE PLAN
I you like the golf lesson with my compliments you can download the PDF lesson summary and step by step practice plan. Great to take to your next driving range session: Download it for free here:

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On TH-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

For me (who has struggled with swing path and ball control consistency) this shoulder, arm and hand explanation has just made my day. Of all the ways the grip and swing path has been explained over the years by others this has to be the last one ever discussed. Danny, you have taken the "Pressure" off of me and now I know where, why and how to use it. If ever in SW Florida I would love to play a round with you at my Club. Drinks and Dinner are on me. Cheers!!!

Hi Danny. I stopped playing golf for 10 years - family took over - but came back a few months ago. Generally avoided my driver in favour of my trusted 5 wood which is 95% safe 200+ yards. Recently been trying my driver with awful right push but straight (30 yards right) and right slices (40 yards curved right). I put your grip and face squaring suggestions to use in the driving range last night with some excellent results. Still had one or two moderate slices (30 yards right of target), but out of 20 drives 16/17 were either dead straight or only ~10 yards off track right. Lots more practice required because the grip felt uncomfortable, but I actually felt great about working more on this.

His wife said my swing looked so smooth and effortless. I later showed her your video where to talked about helping your wife with the 3 keys and she loved it. I suggested she subscribe and I think she will. I am starting a week of holidays and have at least 5 rounds planned. Thanks again Danny and keep up the good work.

    Hi Danny
Your video on the one pice takeaway was fantastic. Your concept of Co ordinated takeaway was so well explained, it painted a picture in my mind so vivid I got home took out my SW and started to practice it in my living room. Moving the arms and body together felt so alien at first. Which was all the proof I needed I havnt been doing it probably ever.
But that first move is all I have tried so far. But every tiny follow through produces a crisp clean connection with the ball.

Throwing my right shoulder forward was my biggest problem and this video really helped. Thanks again!

I apologize for re-posting a comment but this advice has been a complete and total game changer for me! My slice has completely disappeared, gone. Distance ratcheting up with each game played as my confidence in the swing is increasing. This advice on rolling your wrists a bit instead of shoulders is also working magic with my irons too. My scores are 96,96,94,89,87,86,85,85,84,83,and today already achieved my goal of 80. Told guys at the course when I first started 80 is my goal. I thought this would take years to achieve. I feel as if I might be able to make playing into something. I’m sure I’ll hit a plateau around 75 but 16 strokes in 10 rounds that’s unbelievable. I started changing my grip in my first game after the video came out and its worked wonders for me, yesterday in a betterball comp my claim to fame was on the 11th which off the whites is 521 yds par 5. The drive off gets to a small dog leg in the fairway and over a ditch, i got to 20yds from the ditch then with a 5 wood over and up the fairway then with a 3 wood using your step right video onto the edge of the green and down in 6 , not bad for a27 hcp.

Great lesson Danny on where to look for more consistent hitting of the driver. As one who has moved from a serious slicer to more of a strong fader (still not fully controlling the shot shape), these pointers are great for getting solid swing thoughts by working in steps. One thing many do not realize is it is a step by step process. Thanks again for solid teaching on how to get better - also love that caveat of "Yes, your old habits will try to take back over" Too many want to think it's one and done. In golf, its one and one more and one more and one more, as it is a lifelong process of continuous improvement. As any gain, whether small or large, is huge.

Hey Danny. I'm fairly new to your channel and I've finally gotten around to applying your tips to my game. I'm 6'5 and weigh over 250 lbs so therefore friends that I play with always expect me to have that crazy long drive and all I would have for them is a huge banana slice that would often times end up either in the woods or way off the fairway. We played as a foursome yesterday and I applied your 3 steps and really zoned in on my grip. OMG, were they ever surprised, as was I !! I think I hit three 'mild' slices during the entire round! The fact that my ball traveled a mostly straight line enabled me to out-drive them all by 20 to 30 yards every single time! I am literally over the moon! I am now about to look at your video on the proper transfer of weight and I can't wait to apply that also. I cannot thank you enough for this lesson and I can guarantee you that I will be a regular from hereon in! Cheers from Canada!! Stay safe!

Thank you so much, I have been leaving the club face open and never knew why and more importantly how to fix it. Just been to range and turning ball from right to left using the feeling of turning the club face closed through impact. Look forward to your videos every week, thanks again.

Really good explanation Danny! I used to be a slicer and yet I was conciously doing the 3 steps you describe. I discovered that my fault was at the top of the backswing where I wasn't aware that I was cupping my wrists and opening up the clubface! So although I then conciously tried to swing in to out and apply pressure to the ball and turn the wrists I was still slicing because it wasn't enough to compensate for the wrist cupping in the short time it takes for the downswing. Once I stopped that my drives where straight and longer!

  • @daracummins6234

Love your videos. Simple, easy to follow advice. I have historically been a slicer but have SLOWLY improved and now I waver between slicing, hooking...and sometimes hitting straight. I'm going to check my grip as you recommend and I like the imagery you talked about in this video of putting "pressure" on the ball with the tennis racquet prop. I am guessing that my occasional vicious hooks are simply a result of over compensating for my nagging tendency to hit a slice and closing the club face too much through impact.

Many thanks Danny - another great lesson, a very timely one for me as on my last couple of rounds (just on two or three holes), I've developed an ugly hook seemingly from nowhere! The problem being I didn't really know the cause nor have a reference point to correct it - which I do have now. Like all your subscribers I'm so impressed & grateful that every week you're able to deliver us such meaningful and original lessons.
