It's great to know it, thanks. But i do not reccomend using it with your volume at max because you can see how the passive radiators vibrate, in long term it can damage the speaker. I tried it now on my jbl flip 5, it sound a lot bassier but at high volume you can also hear the metal of the radiators, and i'm afraid to use it for too long. But thanks for the video

There's no such thing as “low frequency mode”. That mode you're using is a debug mode made for JBL to diagnose any issues with it. Listening to music with debug mode active can potentially cause damage

It is more a loudnes button, at a low volume you will no longer get bass, go to a higher volume and the bass will come back, but then it sound much too shrill and out of balance, and you can no longer use the EQ app, it is af if the JBL does is own thing.

I'll have to check on that. Still really am pleased by this speaker sound signature for the intended environments...and highly still recommend it.
Feel bad for folks getting one now though...since the price actually went up recently. It's touching overpriced territory. The gen 2 isn't that much different though, and refurbs will be just fine. Hopefully JBL can keep selling these without cheapening them. They really really sound good for what they are.

just bought a JBL EXTREME 3, if you use this low frequency feature I strongly advise that you do NOT turn this up for long periods as this can fry the drivers in the passive radiators. ONLY turn this on if you honestly feel that you just wanna kickback and feel the rumble don't forget to turn it off as it won't do it by itself its a hidden feature. best of luck ya'll #TEAMJBL
