what took me out of the movie was the amber hues. the 1st was saturated in blue. The second in reds & blues, but the amber hue in the third made it look like a direct-to-video release
It's not a great movie, but Blade Trinity is still a fun bad movie. Ryan Reynolds is a highlight in the film, as well as Triple H and Parker Posey. At least this mess led to a happy ending with Wesley Snipes as BLADE being brought back years later thanks to Ryan.
Dominic Purcell is totally the wrong choice for Dracula and Goyer's direction and script was just awful. I can understand why Norrington passed on directing this wreck. Also never trust anything from Patton Oswalt. If Snipes was so bad, Reynolds would never have hired Snipes for Deadpool and Wolverine or push for a Logan style Blade movie for Snipes.
Snipes has changed a lot since then and like Reynolds said in the tweet he IS marvel daddy and deserves respect. Doesn't immediately mean things said about Blade III's production are untrue, Reynolds is obligated to spread positivity with the position he is in. Things have changed a lot since then
I still love the Blade trilogy watched them all last year with my GF.. A 4th Blade movie would be awesome & something I never thought about until recently 👀
I Remember Seeing This In The Cinema Back In 2004 And So Excited To See It But After I Saw Blade: Trinity This Movie Was a Joke. The First And Second Blade Movie Was Way Way Better They Should've Ended The Entire Blade Franchise With Blade 2.
I'm watching this but Blade Trinity was a good movie lol Edit: There will ever only be one blade, motherfuckers need to stop trying to ice skate up hill.
What happened is that Goyer HATED Snipes and didn't like that he had most of the control of the franchise. If you go back to listen to commentary tracks on Blade 2 you'd see that Snipes is on one track with Del Toro because they were on the same page and Goyer was on the other one. Eventually Goyer managed to land director's chair on Trinity and used it as a backdoor pilot to kill off Whistler, Blade and softlaunch his spinoff with Reynolds and Biel. Admittedly Snipes could have handled it better than sulking and smoking weed and actually fought for his movie but he didn't. Maybe he wasn't in position to and just "rebeled" against the whole production. Either way Goyer's direction was awful both on camera and behind it.
Good video. Loved what you said about Blade being the one that started it all with the Marvel universe and rated r movies. Besides The Incredible Hulk, Marvel couldn't make a successful franchise to save its life until Blade hit the world. I know, I was there and it was glorious. I saw Blade 3 times in the theater. I got up early to get my first DVD of it at Musicland. I loved it then and Iove it now.
Wesley Snipe brought Ryan Reynolds into Blade as a side character and now, Ryan Reynolds is bringing Wesley Snipe into Deadpool as a side character. Be nice to your co-stars. Never know when you might need them.
It's never sat right with me that some of the guys like Patton Oswalt, Ryan Reynolds and others were dogging on Wesley Snipes for what went down with Trinity. Those Blade movies were his babies and Goyer was very much shitting on that with that dogshit story. He knew what was up. He deserved better than that, that movie stands out like a sore thumb when you look at the trilogy as a whole.
Doing background research on movies will usually help add so much context and explanations lol even if it has nothing to do with the actual movie that was made.
I am a fan of Jessica Biel, but I think you glazed her "intimidating" a bit much. She only looks slightly awkward when doing action scenes which is why they did so much slow mo, to hide the lack of athletic ability.
I honestly love the 3rd. Ryan Reynolds and Jessica biel added really likable characters. It was the campiest of them all of course. But It was still a good watch. Patton Oswalt seemed the most out of place overall.
I am not defending bad behaviors if there was any BUUUUUUT I get so tired of hearing people joke about Wesley snipes method acting blade. Wesley snipes in character as Blade directing Jessica Biel in the scene as a scene in the movie is one of the best likely un-intentional meta scenes ever lol. "USE IT!"
