It is now after 12pm on April 2nd 2024 and the doors of this beautiful historic casino has officially closed its doors for good after 67 years of history. Tropicana you will be missed by many generations of people. Thank you Tropicana for all the memories you provided people. RIP Tropicana.
Sadly this fabulous hotel is no longer standing due to the hotel being imploded on October 9th, 2024 I saw the Implosion live from the Luxor side in the early morning hours, still I will certainly miss the Tropicana Hotel due to it's cool theming in the 2000s and early 2010s and fits well on the south end of the strip especially right across the street from the neighboring MGM Grand. R.I.P Tropicana Las Vegas 1957 - 2024
I love these casino history videos they are phenomenal! I appreciate the amount of detailed history you pack into these 👏 Looking forward to future videos, would love to see NYNY, Aladdin, or Caesar’s 🙌
It’s now a year and a half later, and sadly the Tropicana is set to close its doors for good in just a week’s time - making way for a new baseball stadium. It’s sad to see the Tropicana go. I’m actually heading there tonight to say a final goodbye. I love the 50’s era of Vegas and the Trop was the last one standing. Thank you for the memories ❤
Rich Little is my great uncle, we were sad to see his show go and the Tropicana as well. I was there just a few months ago in January to see his show a few times
very great information in this video, though at 10:49 you got the names mixed up. the tiffany tower became the paradise tower and the island tower become the club tower
The Tropicana is now owned by Bally's and it may be possible that it might be Renamed Bally's, since they now also own the name, (the current Bally's casino in Vegas is being renamed to Horseshoe). Great video
Went there over 20 years ago to see a magic show and thought it was already run down then. Can’t imagine how bad it is now. Feel sorry for people I see walking into that place. They should just tear it down and build something new. No amount of money can revive that place which for decades now has developed a reputation for being old and run down.
Yeah, this guy must be a Millennial with the funny mispronunciations. He would have been whacked if he called the gangster, Lucky “Loosiano”. 😂. Totally butchered George Chakiris too lol. But I have to give him credit, he does a good job and is informative.
The whited out color scheme is terrible. And today there are broken windows and cracking walls. It looks like a prison. It was a terrible idea. You didnt mention the owner Alex Yemenidjian and how he gave up on the renovations to pursue a cannabis business

Very nice. A little slower would be pleasant for everyone to re-feel visiting there over the decades . Thanks for an excellent presentation.

it's nice compared to 20 years ago
I saw ‘The Magic of Rick Thomas’ at the Tropicana. That must have been back in ‘97. Was that the same show?
More than likely the new Bally's Corp will tear this thing down and build a brand new Bally's in its place.
