As someone who grew up in Las Vegas in the 1990s, I’m glad all of these family attractions existed. They may not have attracted the tourists they were meant to, but they sure made being a kid in Las Vegas at that time something special.

Honestly as someone who grew up and Vegas and Adventure Dome was a relatively affordable option for a special fun day out with friends, this place was my Disneyland. Sure, it isn't much, but it'll always be close to me. Still so sad about the Rim Runner being gone, I was too chicken to ride El Loco and it's interesting that a lot of track from Rim inner had been left untouched (the lift hill is still there!)

I LOVED the pirate show! Growing up, we stayed at Circus Circus so my brother and I had stuff to do (including all-day passes at the adventure dome), but we would pester our parents to go see the pirate show. The Siren show was good (more comedic), but I was a little heartbroken to see it's no more.

Summer sucks. Lol. I just would recommend getting a job that doesn't revolve solely on tourism. So you don't have to worry about recessions, etc. Vegas is a normal city outside the major tourist areas. Also have a reliable car. AC is a must during June/July/August.

My personal favorites back then were Excalibur's own carnival themed play room, MGM had a nice arcade floor, as well as Luxor, New York New York and Treasure Island. Nowadays, you really can't find a hotel with a decent arcade room. Circus Circus stayed with this theme though. And as ghetto as it was to visit, nostalgia was always welcomed. Please do an episode on Gilroy Gardens! It has a very unique history. With it starting with a Disney like drive towards an amusement park, by the owner of a Local grocery store chain (Nob Hill Foods) Bonfonte was the man who the park was named after (before basing changed to Gilroy Gardens. Plus in the works is a full on amusement park!

I first visited Vegas in 1999 as a young adult. I visited Circus Circus then and was struck immediately by the feeling of what it must have been like in its heyday. It was a tad depressing to see what it had become, but there was still a bit of shimmer and whimsey just below the crust. I still had an amazing time there in large part due to a Christmas tour from Japan visiting at the same time we were. We were surrounded by hundreds of Japanese tourist while in there. It was a surreal, but very lovely experience. I really love that you filled in so many holes in my knowledge of this casino, hotel & theme park. I love your content because it delivers information about things I didn't know I wanted to know. This is an example. Thanks for your work!

I was a kid in the 90s visiting my dad every summer and we went to all these places. I have a ton of photos and videos from MGM's little theme park and plenty of nights spent at the Adventuredome with a friend who lived here. The nostalgia is REAL.

Thanks for doing this, I have a lot of nostalgia for that place. I had hoped you would cover more about the Frightdome in particular, as it did have a couple good years. That place was a blast, completely fogged out and crawling with actors, Tons of haunts/mazes, overpriced drinks. It was a great time with the exception of the final year i attended. Just a complete letdown from previous years
I have a lot of good memories of this place. The casino was one of the only ones that had newer cabinets for fighting games I played, although I'm pretty sure they moved them all to the Orleans eventually

Whenever I am in Vegas I always stay at Circus Circus. After the demolition d Sahara's it is the last place on the Strip with the old campy feel. I was last there 10 years ago and had fun on the rides, but it did feel a bit cramped in there.

Adventuredome is very underrated, and is not a failure. El Loco took it to a new level! The unique thrill rides helped to round out the experience. Canyon Blaster is actually still as smooth as my first ride in 2007.
My first visit to Circus Circus was in 1986. Then, I visited in 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2020. Each of those visits were quite special.

Canyon Blaster was the first looping roller coaster I rode as a kid during a family vacation to Vegas in 1999... It inspired a new love for coasters within me that I still have. It will forever hold a special place in my heart. I remember those old Circus Circus promo videos would play in the hotel rooms... nothing pumped you more as kid to see that playing in your hotel room and know that it was just down the hall.

I recognize an epidemic sound sub when I hear one. Good choice of music.
I loved Adventuredome, I used to spend days there as a kid and the roller coaster is still one of my all time favorites. The crowds were so tolerable there, it always had this feel that you had the park to yourself. I remember riding the roller coaster 10 to 15 times in a row with no wait time. Playing "Mad Dog" in the arcade. And then dominating some laser tag. As a SoCal resident, this place gives me almost as much nostalgia as Disneyland or Knotts.

I’ve been a huge fan of your content, particularly because of the videos you’ve done on the rides and attractions in Las Vegas. My family would take yearly Summer trips to the city and these are all the places I grew up with, I knew that it was only a matter of time before you did a video on The Adventuredome (known as Grand Slam Canyon when I was a kid). When I went to Vegas when I was five, we ALMOST stayed at the Circus Circus. When we got there, we didn't have a resort to stay at yet so we just walked around until we picked one. My mom and I liked Circus Circus because I loved the arcade games and she liked how family-friendly it was. My dad wanted to stay at the now demolished Frontier...we ended up at the Frontier. And boy did it smell bad. The Frontier saw better days.
Circus Circus thought of the box, they wanted to re-invent Vegas. And they did it. It reminds me of how Times Square was transformed from a rundown place ridden with crime and whatnot to a family-friendly tourist mecca.

I went to fright dome that year and honestly? fnaf was easily the worst haunted house we went in that night. We followed our guide in a straight line the entire way and.... nothing happened? we would walk into the different rooms and things would be moving and there was a bunch going on and then it would all just turn off abruptly, intentionally, and that was about it? I was in the back of the line and the only remotely scary thing that happened was I felt something hit the back of my foot and i glanced back and saw an actor dressed up as a chicken? (I'm not familiar with the games idk what it was) but that was it. I got startled obviously but they paused in their step since they got too close to me and started shuffling behind me once there was enough distance between us but that was it. Allegedly it was supposed to be an interactive house but the guides stress that you have to stick with them the entire time and follow in a straight line because they would not turn back for you. And they meant it. There was no mention beforehand that we could touch anything, and it was a big no no to touch anything in the other houses so naturally we assumed the same rules applied. So yeah... unfortunately it was not a good maze. Absolutely nothing happened. It sets and costumes looked pretty spot on from what I've seen of the game so maybe fans would've appreciated it but yeah.... not a very good haunted house.

Funny enough that they tried to draw in family friendly crowds with the adventure dome. i always thought circus circus looked kinda seedy and grodey. i've only been in there a few times. the halloween thing didn't help my willingness to go either haha, i'm a bit of a fraidy cat.
i'm definitely going once the pandemic is over though.

It's because Las Vegas never really had the local population to sustain a theme park until 2010. Honestly, locals don't want to go to the Strip in order to enjoy a day out with the family. If they had built it in the suburbs away from the strip, locals would go. It would be like Disneyland in the way that more locals than tourists would be there on the regular. That's how it works with the 2 water Parks we have. Wetn Wild 2.0 on the Westside and Cowabunga Bay on the east side. Annual passes and locals all season long. I just wish those waterparks were indoors so they could be year round. One thing they got right with Adventure Dome was it being indoors.

I went to Vegas with my family in 2006 to celebrate my parent's 10th anniversary and the Adventuredome is one of the things I remember most vividly. For some reason one of the things I remember most was the little nooks and crannies that housed arcade game and playing House of the Dead 3 in one of them!
