    This is one of the best reviews I've seen on the new Scrambler...much appreciated !

    Been looking at this bike for awhile & couldn't find a decent review. Loved yours! Thank you 👍🏻

    Excellent video. Finally someone filmed the Street Scrambler calmly, sideways (showing the riding position). It helped me a lot to decide for the SS. Thank you. P.: I live in Brazil.

    Hi Ron,
    I was lucky enough to win a 2017 Street Twin in February. I won the Motoblat Festival drawing from last year. Triumph sent my new bike to QC Moto in Springfield Mo. where i picked it up. Great Bike! Love it! and I own a good running 1970 version as well, so I can compare the two. Actually the 70 is a TR6 with one carb, but then my ST has only one throttle body... My street twin is the all matte black with the Vance and Hines 2 into one high pipe. not cat, and sounds unreal. My 70 sounds way different, but really great as well, with its bu-bump-bu-bump sound at idle. Actually nicer sound than the poot-poot-poot sound of the ST. My ST also has a metal bash plate, brat saddle, led lights, and fender eliminator. All installed at the factory as an "Inspiration Kit" that they don't seem to offer any more. mine is also lower, as the forks are a little shorter. I've got a thousand miles on mine now and have enjoyed it fully out on the beautiful curves in NW Arkansas and southern Missouri. It gets almost as much attention at gas stations as my 70. Thanks for the test video. Seems that everyone who gets these seems to love them.

      Hey Alex I have great news I did the engine tune and it greatly improved throttle response and power. I'm sure this is the issue you're having with your street twin.

    I'm really wanting one of these once I start riding and get some miles under my belt and a used beater bike. I'm actually just east of Raleigh so since you're in NC and did an awesome review on the bike, you got a new sub here! Can't wait for more videos!

    Nice video. Note that the stone guard is not a skid plate. Also not to be confused with a true rock guard. Def want to upgrade to heavy duty though. Safe riding!

    You are the most informative reviewer here! Very helpful....thank you! I'm getting the black one.

      @ronaldgarcia3933  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The black is a great choice it looks awesome, and thanks for the positive feedback it was a lot of fun making this review but it was a lot of work too. It good to know we didn't waste our time lol.

    Nice to hear your thoughts. Question: how much heat do you feel off the heat shield? Is that an issue for you on hot summer days? While riding or just when standing? Thanks!

    • @ronaldgarcia3933
      @ronaldgarcia3933  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeremy Morse it’s hasn’t really been a big issue, it has been hot once or twice but it was mid summer while I was stopped. The heat shielding works well much better than I ever thought it would.

    • @bullfrogribbit
      @bullfrogribbit 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ronald Garcia thanks! I’m considering the bike for everyday commuter here in India, so summer time will be 100F+ in stop and go traffic. I’m just a little concerned. But otherwise the bike is perfectly suited - our roads have gravel patches all over and having the added clearance of the Scrambler vs the Street Twin will really help here. And beyond that, the scrambler’s styling is just awesome! Enjoy your Scrambler, ride safe! And many thanks!

    Don't ride with your feet off the pegs.

  • @lipsee100
    @lipsee100 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Ron,,, Thanks I enjoyed the vid,,, but the bugbear for me with this beauty is the exhaust (I took one out for an hour from the dealer),, I found the exhaust took up too much room ,forcing my right leg to the end of the peg,,,and as for standing that was a no no.... I have seen an older model fitted with a lower exhaust ( aka just like Steve McQueen,s ) What do you reckon!!

    • @johnsanford3596
      @johnsanford3596 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would have to swap to the Street Twin / Bonnie / Street Cup exhaust headers, then any of their exhausts would likely fit, EXCEPT you might have to come up with your own exhaust hangers. I.e. it would be ALMOST a straight, painless swap.

    got me wanting to upgrade my bonny to one of these. Do pipes interfere with right leg seating position ?

      No not at all and the heat shielding is phenomenal. We will be launching a diy video this coming week that will give you many great views of the exhaust.

    Great bike, I’m actually looking to get a used one in this exact color finish, definitely the best color option. My question is, I’m a bigger guy at 5’10 and about 275lbs roughly. Would this bike be too small for a larger rider?

  • @21FunkyMonkeys
    @21FunkyMonkeys 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    would you consider this a decent beginner bike? if not, what would you recommend (looking for a nice standard bike, i hate sportbikes)

    • @ronaldgarcia3933
      @ronaldgarcia3933  7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I get this question a lot, I don't think anyone should start riding on a new bike. Most of the time I recommend buying a late 70's early 80's Japanese bike off Craigslist you can get a good running one for less than $2000. The reason I recommend this is because you're learning and $2000 mistakes hurt a lot less than $10000 mistakes. Buy a cheap bike, have a great time learning, sell it for what you have in it (or keep it. Cause I've loved all my old Japanese bikes!) Then after you feel comfortable buy the one you want. Believe me I learned this the hard way lol.
      Sweet beginner bikes:
      Any
      70-80s honda cb
      70-80s Yamaha xs
      70-80s Suzuki gs
      Note they will all need a new battery and the carbs cleaned. Also I'd probably stay between 500cc-900cc.
      P.S. there will always be some butt whole talking crap about what you ride or how you ride, but those are the guys that wreck bikes trying to show off. Firefighters call them job security. Riding is about the feeling of freedom it's not a popularity contest. Anyway hope to see you on the road let me know what you get!

    how tall r u ?

    • @ronaldgarcia3933
      @ronaldgarcia3933  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      5' 11" but the weight of the rider will also account for the suspension compression and change the height of the seat. The lowest setting is for 150 lbs rider, and the seat height with no weight is jus under 32 inches and will compress 2-3 when sat on.

    The bike seems on the small side (I'm guessing you're about 5ft9in). I'm 5ft11in, 165lbs and I have relatively long arms and legs - do you reckon I'd be cramped?

    • @ronaldgarcia3933

    It's just too hot! I live in the south and though I do like wearing them for protection its just to damn hot. If we did wear them it would look like we just got out of a swimming pool by the time we reached the end of the street. Also with temperatures and humidity as bad as it is here we would have more wrecks from people losing consciousness due to heat exhaustion. Have you ever ridden without one? It's funny because I wondered if it was always cold in the U.K. because they were always wearing jackets lol

      in the first week I put over 500 miles on it. I ride it almost daily but I don't really watch the miles the last I remember was just over 800. That was weeks ago though

    Nice video, I really like this bike, but I have one doubt. I'm 190 cm, 6'2'' tall, you think I'm fitting well in this bike?

    • @ronaldgarcia3933
      @ronaldgarcia3933  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isaac Oliveira I think it would fit you ok but the only true way to tell is go to you closest triumph dealer and feel it out for yourself. I think you like it. Oh and btw this thing has no problem going off road

    I'm in the UK. I can't believe how many of you guys in the US ride bikes without jackets and GLOVES! (not a criticism, just an observation). Over here you never see anybody riding a motorbike without gloves. I can only imagine the gravel rash if you came off at 70mph. As I say, each to their own, your choice, not criticizing. I too have a Street Scrambler in matt khaki green and I'm loving it. Nice review BTW.

      I'm from the UK and live in Texas now. It's unbearably hot for a good portion of the year and unreasonably humid also. I still wear all the gear, but it's truly miserable. Gloves get soaked through, trousers same, jackets get stuffy, helmet the same. It's pretty difficult to be comfortable.

    This model has 58 HP? Really?? Where do you get your figures from? And the "data" that most of the "common people aren't gonna understand"? What is that supposed to mean...you think that most people aren't as bright as YOU?! And what does "shipping weight is 480lbs, plus the weight of the bike" even mean? "The gross vehicle weight is 946". 946 what?? Still, top marks for cramming in so many errors in a video barely 6 minutes long!

    • @phils2180
      @phils2180 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go back and listen to the video again. He said the shipping weight is 480lbs, THAT’S the weight of the bike. The gross vehicle weight (bike plus max load) is 946lbs, he’s just given the shipping weight in lbs so what else would it be!
