Triumph is made of passion
I keep coming back to look at Triumph because I hear they have some of the best build quality and best riding motorcycles in the world. I also absolutely love the entire line of motorbikes they make, they're just beautiful machines. This video makes me want a Triumph even more, I want to own a piece of their glorious history. What a great story they had!
Every motorcycle company can learn from Triumph. Don't be afraid to go big (Rocket III). Don't be afraid to bring back a beloved favorite ( Bonneville). I LOVE my Bonneville T-100 (2007)!!!
AND don't be scared to go your own way, Speed triple ( spear headed the street fighter style) Street triple comfortable street sports bike and 675 Daytona light and torquey. Also I didn't know Triumph's onslaught on the north American market started in Canada, clever.
Me 2. I own 3 Bonne’s. A 71’ & the O4’. Plus a 71’ I use 4 parts. Someday she’ll b up & running 2. The only thing better than owning a Triumph.. is owning 2. Lmao.. !!

Yuppers!...I've had 3 Speedies...03, 05 and my current 13 S3R. Love em and wish I'd kept my 03. It was still a lil raw with its manners and spit fire out of the single pipe.

Interesting vid. As a previous Meriden Bonneville and now Hinkley Thunderbird 900 owner I really enjoyed it. Nice also to catch the briefest glimpse of two Aussie biker icons in Guy Allen and Grant Roff at 13 seconds in. Long live Triumph.
This would be a great video if I didn't have to break focus on the video itself just to be able to read the content.
Royal enfield is also one of the oldest manufacture that still runs

i grew up with Triumphs..they got under my skin, they are,and will always be with me,as i will be with them..it's name is tattooed in my skin , it's name defeines everything i wanted to be....British Bikes on British Roads..

Although no “Royal” Enfields were built for a period of around 25 years from the 70’s to the 90’s.

way to many fancy transitions. It got in the way of the story!
loved the content ,every fact was edited beautifully.background was interesting and created positive vibes on viewer's mind .but thing which disappointed was that street triple was not mentioned anywhere. +_✩
It's a pity that the text with the red background is very intrusive. This video would be much better with voice and optional subtitles.

Had a 1966 and a 1967 T120-r. Changed the valve timing & flew.

I am a great fan of Triumph but it is Royal Enfield that is the oldest continuous production motorcycle in the world that is from 1901 onwards
These are dubious claims for both companies to make:
Royal Enfield may have started in 1901, but the Indian operation didn’t gain the rights to used the Royal Enfield name until the 1990’s, after a gap of around 25-30 years, during which they were called “Enfield”. Hardly continuous production of “Royal” Enfield.
Meanwhile, John Bloor licenced Les Harris to built Triumphs for 5 years, from 1983 to 1988. He stopped production in 1986. Hinckley Triumph didn’t restart production until 1989/90.
Triumph have been in production for around 20+ more years than Royal Enfield, but neither can claim continuous production.
Royal Enfield has been making bikes since 1901. This makes them the oldest brand still in the motorcycle building business.
This is greatest bike old triumph wonderful superb great.

Love it that the rocket was at the end. Mines 12 years newer, But looked pretty much the same. I understand this is more about the Bonneville brand coming out and bringing Triumph up to today. This video didn't touch the modern sports bikes . Guess the new triples are a new story from there. Surprise though finding out that 2 Germans started the compony.
Triumph aren't the only British owned transportation company. Morgan cars are a family owned British car maker. As far as I know both CCM motorcycles and Norton Motorcycles are British owned. There are also plenty of small volume car makers like Noble and Ariel that are British.

A Continuation of my letter below, how is that Enfield 500 bullet? I really like its retro look?
What's the difference between Les Moore licensing the name and Madras licensing the name and design. Nothing legally. Actually, Triumph ceased production and reopened production. Enfield Bullets were manufactured concurrently in England and in India under license. Triumph was actually less "continuously in production" than Enfield.But, we can ask some Harley owners; they'll say the Davidson Brothers invented motorcycles. LOL

Would have been nice to mention the mid 50s Triumphs. Tiger 110 etc. To my understanding the Bonneville was a development on from the Tiger 110 after someone had run a tuned up Tiger 110 on speed runs at the Bonneville salt flats, and production started in 1959 , not 1965.
As others have said, the massive red box pop text does block the pictures of the bikes we all want to see !
But otherwise thanks, and like others , I didn't know it was started by some Germans ! ( and I did learn a few things along the way ! )

Great video but there's a factual mistake. Royal Enfield is the oldest running production motorcycle brand in the world. (Founded in 1901)
They forgot to show the 1st gen of triumph speed triple😭😭... The very first model right after John Bloor bought the company
The very fiirst models from 1990 were:
Trophy
Trident
Daytona
The Speed Triple joined the line up around 1993.
Great potential for a documentary. Shame there couldn’t have been more production value and a quality narration. Gets frustrating to watch after 1.5 minutes

Nice vid! Triumph has turned pretty much into a company that serves the hipster crowd with their retro bikes. However, there is one bike that really boosted the success of the Hinckley Triumphs: The Speed Triple. Too bad you did not even mention the one bike that made Triumph an iconic brand before the beard and flanell shirt crowd discovered it.
Drifting bikes
All this effort, but there are all kinds of inaccuracies in the video. The Bonneville was introduced in 1959 , not in 1965. When you go to the Trident which was a triple introduced in 1969, you show a pic of a 1977 Bonneville Silver Jubilee. The Speed Twin was introduced in 1938, not in 1937. "The Wild One" movie came out in 1953, not in 1945.
Informative video but your big pink background to the text blocks all the great photos behind. Real shame.
I had two used Bonneville 650''s in the early seventies. They looked great, and were a lot of fun to ride, but they broke down on me constantly. did any body else have that problem back in the late 60's or early 70's? I would love to get another one if they were more reliable.
They do need watching.

Triumph is the SECOND oldest continuous production motorcycle. Triumph stopped production from 1984 to 1990. Plus, Royal Enfield has been around since 1901. Triumph since 1902.

Two things...It ended in 1983 and the name was bought in 1990 so its not contentious production. The bikes may have British corporate offices but the factory is in Thailand. Dont get me wrong I love Triumph but the video is misleading.
Production of the Bonneville was licensed to Les Harris, of Racing Spares fame, by John Bloor, for 5 years, from 1983 to 1988, although he ceased production in 1986. There was still a gap of 3 -4 years though.
Look out for news of volume production restarting at Hinckley… 👍

Enfield manufactured their first production motorcycle in 1901. Enfield is still made in India today by the offshoot set up by the original Royal Enfield company.
Triumph was not #1, nor is it longest continuous manufacturer of motorcycles. The Triumph company of today is not the same company that started making motorcycles in 1901. It is a restart by a different entity.
The actual longest production model in the world is the Enfield "Bullet".

Was it Bloor that bought the Triumph company? When it was bought it was still in production with no USA deliveries. He liscense a party to continue the production of Bonnies for England, while he was re-tooling (overhauling) the Triumph bikes. So in fairness there was a continuation of Triumphs since their founding in 1902. And a little more to stir, BSA actually owned Triump since 1959. I agree about the Bullet, an amazing discovery!
Technically Enfield India was a separate company majority owned by Madras motors so wasn't really an offshoot of Royal Enfield.

The manufacture of Triumph Motorcycles has not been continuous. After the failure of the Meriden Workers Co-op folded in 1983, John Bloor (Blessed be his name) purchased the name and Licensed Les Harris in Devon to continue building the 750cc Parallel Twin, which he did until 1988. Triumph's new range of 3 and 4 cylinder bikes arrived in 1990. So there was a break. However throughout the years 1902 to current there has been a company producing or developing motorcycles, called Triumph, so in that respect it is continuous. As an owner of Meriden and Hinckley Triumphs, the new company is streets (pun intended) ahead of the old one. I love my 70 Bonnie, but the modern bikes do everything better and even almost manage to match the character of the 50's and 60's bikes. The modern comparison to the t100.t100 and t120 triumphs aren't the modern bikes carrrying their names, but the Speed Tripel and Street Triple, super fast' loud, brash hooligan bikes.

What you have done is to make the mistake that the new Hinckley bikes are actually Triumphs which they most definitely are not. The original Triumph factory and motorcycle has virtually no connection with the new so called Triumphs. I don't dislike the new Hinckleys but it annoys me that they are assumed to be the product of the original Triumph crew and story.
I own a 1973 T150V which I have owned for 40 years, I also own a 2007 ST 1050, I consider them both to be Triumphs, both are triples and as John Bloore bought the name the bikes his company build are Triumphs
I worked at the Hinckley Triumph in the early 90's and I can assure you that a few of the guys working in the R & D department also worked at Meriden so there is a very real connection
