Namibia is underrated one of the top 5 cleanest countries in Africa. It’s very organized there and the government actually does take care of the country there unlike other corrupted countries

Awesome, you right prices are competitive if you coming from the USA but it is expensive for the locals given the incomes for many.. You need to try Spar too. You will love it

Dear Anton, am sure u agree with me that due to popular demand, u need to do a video of private schools in Windhoek as well as private hospitals how they look like. People in diaspora also want to know about the two items. Education and health especially private. I recommend if u travel to coast, then also show private schools over there at coast and private hospitals before u can show the Windhoek ones. Thanks. My freinds were asking me how things are and I referred them to Yr channel. 👍

@@AntonsClass I know few private schools like Saint Paul's College in Klein Windhoek, Saint George in Town, Windhoek Gymnasium in Klein kuppe, Windhoek technical school in Olympia, Windhoek International school in Pioneers Park etc. These are private high schools. Of course there are lots of public schools like Windhoek high school near Parliament, Academia High school, Concordia High school pionerspark, Cosmos High school khomasdal, David bezuidenhout in Khomasdal, Augusteneum college in khomasdal, Centaurus High school at Maerua mall etc. These are few schools I know.
@@AntonsClass private hospitals I know include Medi-Clinic hospital in Eros, Paramount hospital in Eros, Rhino Park hospital in Windhoek North, Roman Catholic hospital in CBD, Lady Pohamba hospital in Klein Kuppe etc. Moreso I heard u mentioning universities in Namibia in other episode. There are 4 universities in Windhoek :University of Namibia (has 3 campuses in Windhoek - main campus in Academia, khomasdal campus and Medical school campus in Windhoek North), International University of Management in Dorado Park, Namibia, Namibia University of science & technology(NUST) and Welwitchia private University in Northern Industry and few other colleges. I highlighted these coz I detected u ommited some of them. Of course u may not have been aware or given full information since u just arrived there.

I'm happy you vlogged. I'm we are headed to Namibia, from Tanzania. Tanzania is to much of a culture shock. After 6 months it's time for civilization.

I think you will feel at home in Namibia. Less culture shock for sure. Corruption is pretty low here. From what I gathered.

Is the produce sprayed with American Corp Toxic Pesticides ie Round-up? I guess one would have to go to local farmers to know if chemicals is in the food
Good question. Not so sure about that.
where does their produce come from? what at the store is grown/produced in namibia?
Most of the products come from South Africa even the shops are franchises of South African companies some of the fresh products can be from Namibia the fruits and veggies, salt and of course the meat but most processed food products are products South Africa or neighbouring countries

Only certain things are produced in Namibia. The spinach, peppers, onions, squash, and various other fruits and veg are produced in Namibia. Like the other friend commented above, most processed foods are made in SA.

What are their non-diary options like?
Glad you asked! They have soy milk (sweetened and unsweetened) at Food Lovers, and they have almond milk and soy milk ( and I think one other plant milk) at Dis-Chem.
There is an ice cream shop downtown that has a couple of dairy free options, but they weren't the best. I haven't found any dairy free ice cream at the grocery stores. That's about it. It hasn't caught on very well here yet, but it's growing.

Are the people there generally fit???/it seems like they have a lot of processed good. You know in the states they say we are the fattest? What is the health and fitness there?
Yes, they are generally fit here. I think they have good genetics and also don't overeat. You do see people who enjoy working out and putting on muscle, as well as people who play sports outdoors. Some of the food staples, like pasta and refined wheat flour, are definitely devoid of nutrients though, so that is something of concern
@@AntonsClass so they have a far more active life style and binge eating is less of a thing do they walk more? Will u interview people about their life style?
@@tessfromtheu.s256 they don't necessarily walk more, since taxis here are extremely affordable. I would love to interview some folks, and I have some collaborations on the way 😊
@@tessfromtheu.s256 a lot of people here don't really binge eat honestly. A lot of junk food that we eat is eaten in small quantities as people don't really want to spend money on unnecessary stuff. Reason being households have at least 7 people living together and things like pizza and KFC and basically a luxury and to us its expensive since you can't feed a large household with fast food. We also eat a lot of traditional food like maize and millet and that plays a big part in our diet. Walking depends on which part of the country you live in, in the city people don't really walk that much since most places are far from each other ( unless it's for exercise of course or it's not a long distance for where ever you want to go) but in the north where I live people walk to almost anyplace even long distance cause we are used to it.

Your preference for Namib is not surprising. All that organization you mention is a seminal benefit of the White Colonial settlers that controlled South Africa and the now defunct German Africa. The supermarkets and many of the products and retail outlets are South African. A real African Country (like Rwanda) will be a different experience. Please read up on the Atrocities committed by the Germans and other European colonizers. Your videos bring a fresh view. Thank you.
I've read up on those things already. I am a product of capitalism, like it or not. The entire world is within the grips of capitalism, including Rwanda. In Rwanda, a tiny elite class rules over the ethic majority, so Rwanda hasn't escaped humanity's flaws either. Children beg in the streets for bread in Kigali, and are chased away from the tourist areas. Rwanda benefits from the horrific mineral wars in the Congo as well. Nowhere is perfect and without a bloody past, unfortunately. And in Rwanda, I was genuinely afraid to speak out against anything/ anyone while living there. The lack of freedom of press is terrible. Anyway, I appreciate your comment. Thank you!
You cant compare with any countries in SACU economic block especially South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.
@@AntonsClass Wow, this is the first time I'm hearing anyone talk about this side of Rwanda. I'm from South Africa and there are a lot of Rwandan people here that's how I know about what you're talking about but on online platforms people will drag you down if you mention such things. Everyone turns a blind eye and pretends things are perfect and the country is above any form of criticism particularly the things the Rwandan govt. Is doing in Congo and silencing of opposition members especially those who have fled the country.
@@Tt-iu4vk yep! You're right. I'm sure you've met people in SA who have left Rwanda. And as you stated, many on TH-cam won't speak on such topics. I had to turn off comments on my video about leaving Rwanda due to all of the attacks in the comments.
We know our challenges here,let alone our past history which is not good, from colonizers who were here however we have peace with it,hence our national reconciliation policy which is rather working better for us.We don't need to be remained about that,let alone by someone who us not from here.We are multiracial/ cultural nation and we have no alternative but to accept it.We do not want any one to try drive a wedge between races,despite flew incidents here and there we live in harmony of one another here. We got our independence 32 years ago so to say we are organized because of white people as rather an insult to us.goveemrnt including local authorities and many corporate companies are being led by black Namibians professionals, so other countries in Africa and beyond could probably learn one or two things from us.
