    1) The game is awesome i have all of the expansions too. But hear my word u should include some special abilities for the furniture you can create a table with randoms effects. Each player rolls a d6 die to see what happened.
    2) You must also add at least 2 extra abilities for our barbarian, for the Dwarf and at least 1 special ability for the Elf and the wizard to make the game more interesting, you can also tell that after a certain point of succesful missions u can get those abilities (like leveling up).
    3) A bonus for deactivating traps would be nice too.
    4) It would also be wise to release alternative models for the warlock, the druid, the bard and for the dragon that were in the mythic tier.

    Umm are we gonna to get an actual update for this game I backed or is the dice pics and barbarian just good enough?

  • @disruptive_innovator
    @disruptive_innovator 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    First, the components and game look well done. Can we have some assurance that the gameplay and quests will be mostly (thematically) very close to the original?
    Second, so, what's a Warlock halfling doing in here? Dread magic (chaos) is not to be messed with and Heroquest isn't exactly the place for anti-heroes. Sounds like a creative rip off of Warcraft, where a gnome(halfling) warlock is a trope. I am concerned about the creative team's new additions because it doesn't seem to fit.
    Thirdly, why stop just short of offering the Elvin and Barbarian expansions? Surely those could have gone into the stretch goals (another million for a quest book and 5 more models!)
    Fourth, Thank you for offering 8 hero figures, male and female variants of each class, that is HIGHLY APPRECIATED!
    Finally, on the price it is better than buying these sets on ebay where $300 is not uncommon, but it would be nice if children could hope to save and buy this game. Will this come out in stores at a lower price point eventually?
    Overall though, Thank You for finally getting this great game back into print in some form!

    • @yodaflyz
      @yodaflyz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, they really need to do a budget edition if this hits retail so the average family can afford it. What we have right now looks like a luxury edition.
      The original edition didn't use minatures for the funature & doors like this one does & instead used cardboard items likely to reduce production cost. 35 minatures with some cardboard cost drastically less to produce then 71 full minatures like in this edition & I think they need to consider this angle again for a new retail edition so the game can sell to family's while still turning a profit.
      As for myself, I'm already hooked on the original so paying for a luxury edition doesn't bother me but to the average consumer $100 is a little steep for a game you don't know if your going to like it or not.

      Oh, there are more expansions than just the Elf Quest Pack (also known as Mage of the Mirror) and the Barbarian Quest Pack (also known as The Frozen Horror). There's also Against the Ogre Horde and the Wizards of Morcar. It would have been a bit much to release six expansion packs (or seven, if you include the Adventure Design Kit) right away. If enough people buy HeroQuest, and the Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord expansions when there is a general release, I'm sure they'll follow it up with the other four expansions too.

    • @Shadzar
      @Shadzar 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@disruptive_innovator While i can see that, there is really no excuse when they look at prices of the original game.
      The "D&D: Adventure Begins" is a mockery of HeroQuest, aimed at 6 year olds, while HeorQuest wil span the ages with unlimited play hours... or until the board wears out and you have to replace it like Axis & Allies. Not to mention the minis. People would buy this off the shelf for the minis alone. Creatures, terrain all 3D. People would buy this game just to get the minis at $1 each.
      HeroQuest is a direct competitor and the progenitor of games like: Gloomhaven, Descent/Descent 2: Journeys in th Dark. The amount of money people put into those games is ridiculous and HASBRO would be doing a disservice to its shareholders to not consider having the ability to have the number 1 game sold out at Christmas 2021 by making this a retail item rather than a limited edition one. I mean just the fact this is limited to US/Canada is hurting their bottom line when at least 50% of the market for this game is in Europe and South America combined! Retail version wouldn't even have all the little bonus things from this crowd-funding campaign.
      As in the past the board game would lead way to video games, maybe mobile apps, with DLC or such, but only after people get a chance to play the tabletop version to get hooked on the brand name. HASBRO could have, with HeroQuest, the thing that makes more money consistently, with less controversy than D&D. HQ could even have a tournament scene like Games Workshop does with its games such as 40k, or WotC does with MtG.
      Not trying to put the base game and the 2 expansion packs on retail shelves is just a waste of effort after people have spent so much time with each other in 2020 and might have gotten a new taste for board games.
      In less than 12 hours , they have already had 750k of 1 million dollars pledged to this thing, If that doesn't show legs, then i don't know what will.
      Was that over the top for a sales pitch? :thinking:

      Shadzar I have to agree with you. I’m sure they had concerns on how it would compete against modern games, but the shipping costs of the crowdfunding model alone are going to lower sales. Mass marketed would have made them insane money. I hope they go that route in the future if it proves successful.

    • @joshjohnson6639
      @joshjohnson6639 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with @disruptive_innovator that Hasbro is new to this market and wants to know the 'pulse' of how well Heroequest could be for them.
      Also, I think of it this way. When Tesla was releasing its first electric vehicle, it started with a sports car. Get early adopters, enthusiasts, the economically able to get it up and running. Then they moved on to a range of other models. Maybe Harbro's Walmart etc. version will have cardboard standees instead of minis (like Legends of Andor) and decor similar to the original game. This would fetch a much better price point. They could still have the Heroic/Mythic edition for those that want an upgraded edition. If they came out with standees first, the community wouldn't have been as supportive of the effort.
      At the time of this post, it has been just less than 24 hours and it has already past the $1M funding mark. I hope there is enough enthusiasm that they will produce all original expansions as well as new ones (Hasbro, I hope you are reading :).
