Installing Yoshimura exhaust & disabling SET valve (K7 GSX-R1000)

  • How to install an aftermarket muffler and mid-pipe to stock headers on a 2007 or 2008 Suzuki GSX-R1000. I also show left and right fairing removal, and how to disable or bypass the SET Valve (Exhaust Valve) without buying a servo buddy.
NOTE: If you are planning to flash your ECU, the eliminator plugs are unnecessary, as the flash itself will disable the FI light.
The next GSX-R1000 video will feature installing a K&N racing air filter, a Power Commander 5, and blocking the PAIR system.

So I had my ecu flashed and the servo was eliminated in the ecu do I still need to remove servo for the set valve

As long as the valve is sitting in the open position, you don't have to remove it if you don't want to. But most people yank it out to get rid of the dead weight.

Question i started to do exhaust valve delete while i was doing cat delete/ mid pipe. But when i unhooked the cables at the butterfly it flopped closed? And i can open and close by hand, i dont think it will work right isnt the idea to keep open all the time???? Thanks

There is supposed to be a spring on it that keeps it open. Check to make sure that the spring isn't broken.

@@lonelyryder7441 I actually just tried something different..Turn on key cycle kill switch so valve opens..turn switch off before valve completes it's cycle,,( close/ then open 1/2 way). Went to ECU and pulled the black/ white wire started bike valve stayed open no FI light. Now you can hear the servo turning at ignition but the cables don't move.. Whah Lah..Have not rode it yet but all seems ok till I can send ECU out for flash?. This be good option if didn't want tear out servo. Or maybe under Warranty or?? ..Peace Out Brother ✌️✌️✌️

I need to fit mine with the o2 sensor Eliminator and bolt to remove the the sensor totally, as have f1 light from custom exhaust. Do i need to do the other bits you done aswell ?

Only if you want to bypass the exhaust valve. Then you will need to pull the wire from the ECU harness as I demonstrated, or buy a bypass plug for it instead.

I doubt it, the entire bike changed going from 08 to 09. A whole different engine, chassis, everything. There might be some similarities, but it's a whole different bike.

    Olá...
Ao tirar a válvula que abre e fecha no escape... ela fica logo aberta?

Sim, é acionado por mola para permanecer aberto quando os cabos são removidos.

Are you in the midwest? Your mispronunciation of sawzall kinda gave it away. 😂

would you sell me your old exhaust that you removed in this video? :)

    • @lonelyryder7441
      @lonelyryder7441  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Sorry, it's already in the scrapyard. Trust me you didn't want it, it was completely rusted out, things were rattling lose inside. After I removed it, I tried to unscrew the O2 sensor (off camera) and the bung was rusted so bad it broke off in my hand. It was junk.

@@lonelyryder7441 thanks for the reply and thanks for the video, mine runs way better after using the o2 delete.
