Preschool means she is old. I guess I’m ancient since my daughter graduated high school lol confidence is the most amazing thing we can have, because you’re right confidence is the difference between passing or not passing. Part of being confident is knowing who you are and being yourself.
Keep being yourself Erin and you know how much I love the confidence you have had lately. Even through your rough patches your confidence is still taking over and you’ve been able to let your confidence stay visible.

@@aNewDayWithErin of course Erin. We all need words of encouragement. When it comes to your daughter cherish the time you have with her. Time will fly and in no time you will be thinking she grew up to fast. You’re a great mom and I can see that.

Welcome to day to day! Confidence is huge, if they see you are confident they know you arent easy pickings. When you are not confident ppl pick up on the energy and they take a second look. And yes, if you are combative, look for slights, it won't go well.

It is something that is necessary to learn as trans girls. And ironically it’s the opposite of what we are used to because we hid for so long

What you say really touches the spot. In the UK, the govt has become extreme and lives by creating hate.
I first started to be myself in 80s and yes was grouped with gays and aids the whole terrible thing at that time and received many beatings.
in the late 90's and 2000's I once again found the confidence to be me. Of course received lots of hate as all Trans do.
Im now at a point, where, Im thinking if I try to pass as a man, it might be good or at least I may stay alive.
There is so much hate, it is really difficult to find confidence and yet you have the strength and I hope safety.
Thank you, There is still some hope for us and as you said, we are going through what gays went through in the 80s and are now mostly accepted. Lets hope one day we will be accepted and be allowed to live a quite, peaceful life.
Your words give us a hope, may be one day we can be who we are :)

I do try; unflinching, unapologetic. I am also disabled, and can be given to wonder if they stare because they clock me, or because half my face is paralyzed. They may stare, but are always engaging and kind; more so than when I presented as an able-bodied cis male.

I am glad that they are kind to you, that is a positive, no matter why they are looking at you. I’m sorry you have to deal with that unnecessary attention. That would be difficult, sending love your way 💞

@@aNewDayWithErin Thanks! We're in California, so even though we're in a small, conservative town it could be far worse. I like to think I'm presenting a positive, safe picture of trans-ness. If I always fully passed it would not raise the issue in the same way; passing too well does not represent us as a normal component of a heathy, diverse society.

I think you said something really important there that I'd never heard before. I'd kinda got to this point on my own, but you made it really explicit and spelled it out. What I mean is that there is such a thing as "passing as a transgirl". This is not the same as "passing" (ie passing as a cis-female). So, what is "passing as a transgirl"? It is when you get to that stage that you no longer do boy-mode and you don't appear just like a guy in girls clothes. It is when people can look at you, see that you are trans, but completely accept that you are presenting as your authentic, female self. They will understand that you are genetically male, but that you identify and behave in everyway like a female. You might still have some clockable elements to the way that you present, but that you are very confident in who you are and that you are not to be challenged about your gender-identity. You were also right when you said something like; people will walk away with the impression that they know a transgirl and she was nice. They will have a good impression of you and not just judge you on the fact that you are trans, but rather on who you really are as a person.
I've sort of been behaving like this, but not as good as you, for a while now. And to be honest, I'm very happy like this. I'm kinda proud to be trans. I won't stop trying to present more and more feminine, but I'm not going to worry if I never pass.
Btw Erin, you look gorgeous!! And your content is so nice, that I can't believe you don't have a bigger following.

Wow that’s so nice of you 🥰 and thanks for your input on the topic! It’s so true and I hope to make the world just a little better by my interactions each day and by letting others know it’s okay to be confident as a trans women, not just a trans woman trying to be cis. Which of course is a goal for many of us but it isn’t always a perception that can be achieved. I always say we are here to bridge the gap between genders and I feel that makes us very unique humans. So why not use it to our advantage and show the world who we are in a positive confident way. If the world is still standing 10 years from now 😆I know it will be better for us ♥️
and I’m really glad you are working on this as well. Keep it up girl! Thanks for watching 💞

    Hi Erin
It sounds like you are reading pages from my playbook. Kindness cost you nothing, give it out all day long. Like you said people will remember you for it. You are you, a person, who happens to be trans. Always think of yourself as a person first. If someone wants to hang labels, that's on them.

    Phenomenal Woman
    by Maya Angelou
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
    They think I’m telling lies.
    I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
    The span of my hips,
    The stride of my step,
    The curl of my lips.
    I’m a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That’s me.
    I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
    And to a man,
    The fellows stand or
    Fall down on their knees.
    Then they swarm around me,
    A hive of honey bees.
    I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
    The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
    I’m a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That’s me.
    Men themselves have wondered
    What they see in me.
    They try so much
    But they can’t touch
    My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
    I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
    The sun of my smile,
    The ride of my breasts,
    The grace of my style.
    I’m a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That’s me.
    Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
    When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
    I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
    The bend of my hair,
    the palm of my hand,
    The need for my care.
    ’Cause I’m a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That’s me.
