Today a friend of mine confirmed that they got bloodline trait from breeding two animals without it. So that might be a way to do it but its unreliable.
I bred bears S + S and yes sometimes you get 2 abilities instead of 4, there is also a rare color of animals also if you cross A + A there is a chance to get S or S + C (rare) to get S rare regarding the level of abilities, this comes from the dogwood that the small individuals have abilities of a higher level
It’s worth noting that the breeding cooldown (~24hrs) will expire even if an animal is in storage. They also wont lose hunger or thirst. I think you’re better off always having untamed or young animals out rather than mature ones unless you intend to afk for more than a day. I just pull out the specific pairs I want to breed, let them breed, then back in the dark box they go lol.
Mating mode happens with a chance when they eat, if you are out of food, they will never mate, it sometimes takes a while for both to get the mating buff if you are unlucky. Also, they get one and ONLY ONE TRAIT of each parents, so it's an other reason why it is a pain to breed S to get what you want. Then they have a chance to get 1 or more additional traits. Then they have a chance to upgrade one or more traits. That's what I found out so far with my breedings.
the buff traits that the animals offer... when, if ever do they apply to you? once the animal is tamed? or do you have to slaughter it? where in the game does it show a list of animal buff that i have acquired thru this process? much appreciate.
Strong and Sturdy comes from the Tower that buffs babies One trait people totally forgot is that there s a trait that gives a buff to byproducts so it fits really well with golden sheep + their milk ofc (no idea why people forget to talk about milk...) Yes sometimes you lose a trait it seems it occures after their 1st baby from my testings. 1st baby always came with full traits 2 grade S Bears gave me a 1 grade S baby with 5 traits (tower one + 4 of their parent traits), next babies always came with only tower trait + 3 traits. I m also wondering if level 3 traits arent only obtainable via reproduction, never seen a single animal with a trait lvl 3 in the wild so... Another info some traits are trash like food and water consumption lowered on animals you have to kill. For example on Bears it s a really trash traits except if you use them for battle (which is pointless cause if they die it s over for them so you lose your animal...) In the other hand it s a good trait to have for Sheeps cause you dont want to kill them but keep them so it will reduce the production of food you have to do. Last thing lets say you want Bear Prime Meat (the 2 worth meats are bear and rabbit all the rest is trash). So you want ofc Quality Meat but you have to know one important info => apparently further you go further the baby cant get his parents traits but also grandparents traits. This means that if you have for example 1 father Quality Meat + Acid Meat and 1 mother Quality Meat + Docile, even if you have 2 babies with quality meat and docile that can reproduce there s a chance they get Acid Meat back... which is problematic for animals you reproduce to kill cause there s a CD of 48h between each reproduction and a baby take a bit less than 2 days to grow (1 day and a half something like that) So the first 2 parents you have is really important choice instead of just yolo reproducing. No idea if it s a bug, if it was meant to be like that (which is logical in reality), but yeah happened to me on my reproduction setup so had to restart from the beginning and also so that it happens to others on reddit. Yes there s a small chance to get other trait with reproduction but it s probably the worst choice to take that path with the actual system. Better find 2 animals with the trait you want and reproduce them so the base of your reproduction setup is strong.
For sage I recommend player try to be patient, buy from vendor x3,get breeder fertilizer, get a greenhouse planter box perks , open your thermal tower temperature and upgrade those yield perks, u can easily get a lot of sage. And you don’t need to much , just put enough inside and put the rest in fridge. After that I will just make grain feeds for them , no need worry about them, while I farm deviant wheat, those normal turn into feed.
@@Tenzou988 i also prefer getting honeysuckle since getting a breeding fertilizer will also require you to run around and cut trees for random fruits. So I'd rather run around with honeysuckle then
@@420yoloscopes Buffon, before you make a fool of yourself, tell me how long you go harvest , and tell me how many time u go feed your goat , tell me also how long until your harvest food place on the bin expired, tell me when u have multiple crops planting when you specificly need to take care of honeysuckle on the water and lighting volume u have to adjust that eat your space , I am returning back this to you 🤡
Id recommend changing the name of the animal to the trait it has you like before you put it in a box, that way if it is patched you can still tell which has the traits prior to taming.
Hello, i've tried to do halfwalls for their enclosure but they seem to glitch off, either below my foundation or somewhere I can't seem to find. Any tips for this?
@@MrSnowpaw1 Just a quick note here: I'm testing this for 3 days now by taming the Buffalo (Mountain) and Crocodile (Beach). Both creatures have a trait called 'seed' instead of 'bloodline,' unlike Ram. Their descriptions only mention 'slaughter' without the additional phrase 'by-product harvest' following the word 'slaughter' under the seed traits. This means you cannot obtain their hides when harvesting them. Instead, you will receive eggs or milk.
@@jheiidizon818 I agree with Saxonite_. It's a good place, even if you catch them without a mushroom can but trough tranquilizer, because they tend to get stuck everywhere and can't escape you. Also, while you're in wish land, you can find crocodiles, wolves, bears, and birds (and if you really want to do everything here, you can grab some mushrooms on top).

i just did the shift thingy, out of 20+ catch i only got 2 goat with golden bloodline, luckily they are opposite genders for me to breed

No point in farming sage when honeysuckle is way more common. And afaik the favourites are not ordered, they all provide the same benefit

Yes it is possible and i have only gotten on lower tiers actually since those animals are more common
