The full mesh version of the case is really good, it allows hot air coming out of the GPU’s heatsink fins to directly exit the case through the side panel holes and the side panel is still relatively see-through so you can all your RGB goodness.

@@zenastronomy Its pretty good really. Much less dust than all of my other PC's. That fine mesh does keep much of the dust out. If you can get away with less fans because of more mesh that will help you too.

I love this case, so much I bought 2 all mesh ones for both of my builds because I was so impressed by the 1st one. I do feel like the mesh one is where it’s at for thermal performance- It really tames gpus that throw out a lot of heat allowing it to exit the case easily.

How are the noise levels on the AP201 mesh version ? I own a Lian Li Q58 ITX case which has a mix of glass and mesh panels and I do think my RX 6900XT GPU is now noticeably louder than when it was installed in a typical tempered glass ATX tower case. Now I can also hear some coil whine from the GPU which I didn't before. The Q58 is a sandwich case though so the GPU fans are in vertical orientation which may contribute to my noticing the fan noise. I just can't decide between the mesh or glass versions of AP201 ?

    • @jasonb110
      @jasonb110 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@gencoserpen1260 they aren’t bad at all honestly- I’m sure glass would insulate it a bit more, but for axial fan gpus that blow hot air out the sides when traditionally mounted (not vertically), the mesh REALLY helps dissipate heat that could build up in the case.
I’ve tried out other cases after this one and I keep coming back to it due to the build quality and ease of use.

I have a white mesh version and I am very satisfied as someone who has exclusively used ITX cases in the last few years. It's an excellent MATX case that isn't much larger than ITX solutions and can accommodate all current graphics cards.
The build quality is excellent and the only thing that was missing for me was a transparent side panel, so I will consider getting this new revision of the case :)
By the way, if the power supply cage is raised to the first notch, it is possible to install a front fan even though it is not officially supported, just in case anyone was wondering. :)

I have been building PC's for over 25 years and I just totally fell in love with the AP201. I downsized from a NZXT Phantom 410 for own personal PC. It was just super fun swapping my hardware over and also the versatility of the little chassis is incredible. Once upon a time you needed a big tower to fit everything in but no more. MATX sure aint dead. Personally I have got sick of tempered glass so I went the all mesh AP201. All around airflow is just such a great thing too. I also really like that diffused look of some RGB behind the mesh. Only thing I can criticize is Asus got a bit carried away with the branding. I don't think anyone wanted giant letters saying PRIME. Another plus for the all mesh version is that you don't get that.

  • @Hated19134

Awesome! So i'm working on a similar build with the same case and psu. Was that the top or middle psu chassis slot to fit the aio? You think I can get an asus ryou iii aio and a gigabyte 4090 in there? Also I just learned you can flip the glass and mesh panels around if you want safer gpu breathing room.. Love the beat during the build! Reminds me of some 90's Dj Premier / Gang starr stuff!

  • @kayboo5835

Is it OK to have the power supply fan on the inside of the case?
When I do this it gives me more room for the 4090 OC edition to fit in as the wires/connecters get in the way of the atx PSU.
It can also give a little more room for a 360 AIO since the power cable is on the opposite side.

This is kind of a weird state of things: I think we've all seen a trend of matx being kind of left out as mostly a budget option for a couple years but now well, it seems like no PC company big or small believes in such a thing as a 'budget' PC anymore, specially if you look at modern motherboard prices.
So to me the happy consequence of everything just being on a raise to the top on pricetags is that people won't settle for budget matx based cases anymore so we might start seeing more decent options like this.
So I guess I'm conflicted: case is *super* nice and if I had this available I would have chosen it over the 200R a couple of years ago but at the same time, a couple of years ago I could actually buy a decent, serviceable motherboard for under 100 USD so it doesn't seems like the incentive of going matx to access cheaper but still quality parts is of much use today.

I purchased a RM750 Corsair (white) PSU, will it fit okay in this case as long as I don't try to use a large old style hard drive? Also, nearly same board (B460m), and NZXT 360 Elite cooler as well, with Lian Li case fans, so this video really helped me figure out what it'll look like all put together. Only thing is my GPU is black, oh well.

Regular ATX PSU (Non modular) would fit in this case?

I couldn't agree more regarding the RGB software. That's why I favor cases with built-in controllers now and I ignore the software.

I sincerely wish I had found this comment sooner. I've been using the same PC for 10 years. I really liked your build and wanted to make the same one for myself. I just dropped 3,300 on everything I need to build this same PC with some other things I needed. The last of my parts will arrive tomorrow. Now I don't know what to do. @@GearSeekers

I wish you would have put a smaller ATX PSU in the bracket to see if your GPU could still fit. Just for testing purposes.

Hi mate, I'm gonna build my new editing PC using this case.
I'm just curious is it possible to swap the side panels?
What I have in mind is to swap places the TG and the mesh panel on the back side whenever I don't feel seeing the inside.
I hope you notice this one. I really like how you build PC, been watching your contents for a few days now 😄😄😄

What about noise from the bottom fans? Is it annoying?

  • @Gates-Tech

Very nice case, it's a shame that they have been a bit too stingy at some points. You are forced to unscrew a PSU bracket to connect a power supply, and they use extremely poor screws that are tightened too much = possible stripped screws.

I think when the bottom fans are that close to the gpu fans, it actually hurts the gpu temp rather than help cooling it. Another channel has tested this

On point! I see EVERYWHERE that ppl install those bottom fans without even thinking about it.... They doing nothing there! As @GearSeekers agrees, they just making no difference at all, so just why everyone use them? Common guys dont just copy builds, use your head too! If i will buy this case, definitely will not put fans at all to the bottom, less cable, less money to spend, more room to other cables, HDD-s etc.

The only issue I have with this case it that RTX4070ti (pretty fat in width) is pushing the cables at the bottom of the m-board (I don't know whether it's an issue or not but the angle of cable bending is a little scary. I wonder how you managed to put a normal width fans at the bottom (a standard 25mm CoolerMaster doesn't wanna go in together with GPU). I have black version with mesh side panel - looks extremely good without any rgb things.

I got the same card as his except its a 4090 but same dimensions. Can't get 25mm fans underneath, card's too thick. My mate put a fan on the side mesh panel (on the inside) and it really helped with temps

  • @Invincibleagent

Did you try with the rear fan as an intake? This might help with those CPU temps. It might sound weird to some but is quite common to do with SFF cases with no front intake

I have the mesh version of this case and I successfully installed a fan on the front side even though it's not officially supported.
