I like this guy. I watched the video because I'm interested in the Nonsuch line but his personality really made it enjoyable. I'm now a subscriber. Hope to see more vids. Oh yeah, love the boat too!

Sailing Uma for electric sail boat issues and an electric sail drive and lithium battery bank is expensive, additionally you'll need heating.

good to hear that your cat is adapting well to the boat ;) let's see how long that last.

Regarding an electric engine, you'll still need daily shore power to charge the (your solar panels won't cut it) - also, you may be disappointed by its inability to butt against tidal currents, etc.

The new electric sail drives generate power while sailing, the propeller turns into a turbine, but I get your point about the sustained power of a diesel, electrics cant beat them in that regard yet. Likely the point is moot, I doubt I'll have the cash necessary for such an upgrade, diesel engines can be had for a fraction of the price of an electric with sufficient batteries.

@@homelessinayacht3987 I knew a guy on the st. Lawrence River who yanked the Atomic 4 out of his Alberg 30 in favour of an electric drive (don't know the brand), and he really regretted it. Mind, that was years ago, and maybe these motors are better now? I know he complained about lack of power and range, which can be a safety issue on a heavily trafficked body of water where there can be strong currents.

I lived in a nonsuch 26 for 4 years. The 30 doesn’t look a whole lot different. I’d like to hear more about your full enclosure, whoever built that did a great job. I’m looking at the freedom 44 for my next cruiser.

Would love to know the maker of the hard canopy over the cockpit. Looks good and haven't seen it on any others. It's one of the things that's kept me away from nonsuch's. Beyond that I find them to be beautifully simple!

Nonsuch wishbones will almost touch the binnacle guard when the mast flexes in heavy seas. Be ready to kiss your solar panels goodby.

British is in the name so British Columbia must belong to me. Don’t forget to pay your land lease and cut the grass more often coz we have had some complaints. 😆 Nice boat by the way 👍
