I don't know why I haven't seen this before Chris, great video. I think Kinder is probably my favourite camping spot, so varied and always challenging.
This weather lately chris driving me nuts..we should be getting frost & possible snow not this mild horrible wet & windy weather..nice route up you took there done it several time myself & ive stopped off at that old cabin several time for snap breaks..i really enjoy a walk over the plateau from edale side to kinder gates its not a route a lot of folk do..not sure if you would have followed it but there is a feint path from kinder gates to top of fairbrook not on map & you wouldn't know it was there unless you did know..great stuff as always pal tfs.
Cheers Andy. Yep, I'm getting fair sick of this weather too.....I got soaked on my latest trip up Blackstone Edge as well 😭. I really enjoyed this way up, a new route for me and Fairbrook is a great location for pitching, lots of good spots. I did find a sketchy path between Kinder Gates and Fairbrook but kept losing it then finding it again 🤔. I need to watch your latest vid mate but the footy keeps getting in the way....I'll do it though 👍👍 ATB, Chris
On form there Chris. Keckle and bockle, brilliant 👏 Pendle which you visited recently, was Pengle when I were a lad. I do like those old signs and waymarkers shown at the beginning. Many round our way on the West Pennines. Lot of work in them. Cheers Chris, Paul
How do Paul. Yes, I'd forgot about Pengle.....I've heard that too....probably from the same person who called a Pot Noodle a Pot 'Noogle' 😀. I like the old signs as well. There's lots in the Peak District. ATB pal.
Sorry I missed this trip earlier! Quite a way to finish up… tired, wet, sweaty, and with a prize mushroom! Nice first day with a few wildflowers and some nice views… enjoyed the colors in the sunset. Wow, it sure was wet and blustery overnight… your tent stands up well to the elements, even if you can’t sleep. ⛺👌👍
Evening Chris! Yaaas a Puffball tickle 😊 we haven't had to many flyers arica 🍄 know we know why! You've had um all ❤️ Glad you are back out and recovered OK from the dreaded C-bomb. And beetle, and hopical! Sorry if I miss heard 😆 ignore thus if that's the case. Another cracking adventure, thank you for taking us along with you, Ceri and Kat ☕️ ❤️ 👍 😊 💙
Evening Ceri and Kat. Interesting that re Kat's mum, I thought it was just a local thing. We have lots of local folk who say 'bokkle', 'kekkle', 'miggle', etc up here and one I heard recently which I love....,'menkle' (mental!). Thankfully no ill effects of the covid, which was a relief as it hit me hard this time round. Hope you are both well and enjoy the upcoming weekend. ATB, Chris
We need that water Chris. It's been chucking down here. I like them Amazon type spaces to mate - when I'm not injured and up Plynlimon I can't get enough of the mosses and deep gullies. Well, good camp there - shame the food was no good. All the best. Mark
You are right Mark. Even after all the rain our reservoirs are still very low. Still, in such circumstances one never has to go very far to find water. Have a good weekend pal. 👍
@@ChrisJB Yeah, they need just a bit more Chris. People keep saying we're getting a lot of rain and I remind them of the water table they can't see. I agree we find water in most places albeit in short supply. I will have a good one - you to.
Thanks for sharing Chris, very variable weather its been a bit iffy latley but I see next week is set to be fair and another forey up Ashop clough could be on the cards with a low level circumnavigation of Kinder. Its always nice to see a familiar place in a video and I was thinking about my first ever trip to the Dark Peak in about 81 with my brother and we went up Ashop clough. Blimey we were young then. I also stayed at the Snake inn twice with Helen. Such a shame its not open to the public these days. Cheers Chris before I ramble on forever. 👍🍻
How do Dave. As much as I have spent a lot of time in the area, I think that is my first time up Ashop Clough.....I really liked it. Because of Kinder's reputation, I was a bit wary on my first visit (1988) but my pal Jeremy navigated us across the plateau brilliantly. Yes, gutting about the Snake Inn. I only ever went in once though.
Loved your video thank you! subbed, I’m enjoying camping on Kinder scout too, Fairbrook Naze has to be my favourite at the moment, had a few camps up there last few months. Enjoyed Some awesome starry calm nights 😃
Hello Sarah and thank you. I hope you like some of the other stuff. I agree, I think FN is my favourite Kinder area. Seems a bit wilder somehow looking to the north. Best wishes, Chris.
Well survived ! The weather over-night looked/sounded hellish and it's much harder at this time of the year. Love the "kekkle" and "bokkle" references,it's always tickled me when people used to say that. Chuffed you saw the Fieldfares, not seen any yet this year, but did see 30 Redwings (about a month ago ). Thanks mate. Yes, I was chuffed with my first fieldfares. I find they arrive a bit later than redwings, round here anyway. Thanks as always for watching and commenting.

Hi Chris. Looked a great camp👍 Pretty blustery overnight though! Velcro attaching itself where it shouldn't is one of my pet hates! ☹ Not seen any redwings or fieldfares myself yet. Winter thrushes are one of my favourite aspects of winter👍👍
Thanks Des. In the main a decent camp (Fairbrook Naze is a great spot with good pitches) though I didn't enjoy the walk back to the car. A few waxwings are being reported on the east coast so a few of them would be nice too. 🙂
Hope now fully recovered to face the challenges of camping out. Weather looked a bit grim for you too! Meeting up with your pal Lee, in the middle of the wilds, that was well navigated! Liked the choice of music, it sounded Indian with pounding beat behind it. Good to see the mushroom trail continues.
Great to see a different part of Kinder Chris, super pitch and views you both had there. I was hoping you’d recommend the meal , I tend to stick with macaroni cheese but fancy a change! Lol! Glad you made it down safely, and was rewarded with some edible funghi at the end.👍👍👍
Hello Anthony. No, I wouldn't recommend that brand. Fairbrook Naze turned out to be a tremendous spot with plenty of pitches, though the wind unpredictably changed direction (not in the forecast) and that's what left us exposed to its full blasts. Bye for now, Chris.
Well it was a chilled camp till that wind came , very similar terrain to the Bewcastle fells I frequent (but on a larger scale). I did a camp the other night down to 1c with 20-30mph winds that was a shock to the system . “ it was like chewing ginger beer” lol I guess you won’t be buying that make again , tis the season of tent time 😂 roll on the spring lol .
