What I loved about this video was how real it was. Baby feeling unsettled, enthusiastic helper , dad trying to distract baby, you keeping your cool. . And it worked . Well done. You’ll thank yourself in the future when you are eating the meals
I don’t know if this will help with future mass cook ups but I process garlic, cilantro, parsley, chilli’s on a food processor and freeze them onto individual little blocks using an ice cube tray and just pop the amount needed for a recipe straight into pot or freezer meal bags. Save me a lot of time.

You are such a great mom! And Mark is such a great dad! Growing up myself, my home life was nothing like the home you have created for your children. It is wonderful to watch your parenting.
For recipes that call to add items later in the cooking process, you can bag those items (like grated cheese or cornstarch or whatever) to a small bag then put main bag and any extra bags all together in a 1 or 2 gallon bag. That way you have everything together and don’t accidentally use up an item you need to add to the end of a recipe. Hope that makes sense.

Fold up a crockpot liner bag and put it into a snack size zip bag. Then tape that bag to the back side of your freezer meal. You'll never forget again!
Great idea doing lots of meal prep and planning. You have a busy schedule with 4 active boys and a newborn still trying to settle. I have to admit that I think in your situation I’d be buying a lot of convenience meals at the supermarket for the next few months and get some home cleaning done every week. Lauren you have been through a lot physically and mentally lately so take care of yourself. ❤

Unfortunately, convenience meals probably won't help her feel better physically but I would definitely consider having a mother's helper for a season of healing.

Once again a wonderful video!!! Tip for the slow cooker bags. Put one into the slow cooker after it's cleaned and then put away. It's ready for the next time you use it. Then it will start to become a habit.

I put the box of crock bags in the crock when I am not using it. That way, when I take the crock pot out, the bags are there to use. Love your family!

I love that you were totally unflappable with Everett as your sous chef and with Violet crying in the background. You would certainly have been my mentor if you were around when I was a new mom 30 years ago!

Our fridge indoors just went kaput, a new one arriving tomorrow. After cleaning out years worth of pickles & olives today, I’m ready for a new start! What was left was from when we had 4 adults in the house during covid, but now there are just us two. We just cannot get through a whole jar of pickles. It’s a whole new world.
Remembering my grandma saying she always felt sorry for old folks who ate cereal for dinner, then she found herself eating cereal for dinner… Ahh, time marches on.
All that said, I still love making large recipes and freezing leftovers for when we’re too tired or busy to cook a good meal. I love chili, lentil soup, etc. Will def look up the link.

When you are a Mom you juggle many things. I remember those Baby days!
But you did it just so calm...I think it makes things worse when Mom gets tense...because 'baby knows' and then they get more upset!

@@ThisAlaskaLife yes he is! My husband enjoyed him when we watched a couple of your trips and Mark explained different things. We’ve been married 51yrs and he’s always wanted to visit Alaska. We’ve never been able to take a vacation our whole marriage due to he worked so many hours and never was allowed to take 2 weeks off at a time. Same job for 53yrs and raising kids it just never worked out.

Store the freezer bags in the crockpot. That’s what I did to not forget to use them.
Actually meant store crock pot liners in crockpot….not freezer bags.

You know the packing slips come in a plastic holder. Its about 8x5. You need to get some of those to put your recipe on baggies. The paper will not get wet.

Just a tip on tomatoe basil soup, I grow basil year around, I put it in a food processer with the olive oil and freeze in ice cube trays. As for cream I don't use it instead I use evaporated milk or powdered cream. We travel a lot and live in a RV, not much storage space.

You need some full page labels to print the instructions on. Then you can just peel and stick them to the bag and avoid the tape. You also need a measuring spoon that adjusts to the size you need. To make it easy, for the Italian soup, I’d buy the premade Italian meatballs and cut them in either half or quarters.

Another great video !! It takes a lot of effort to get things prepared but you guys will definately benefit from it later. Lots of prep and work Lauren….but worth it in the end for nice easy meals…..Being a Brit….Lee & Perrins goes in all my casseroles….wouldn’t be without it….. you should be able to get the large Bottle at Costco. Baby Violet is getting so big and cuter by the minute…Bless❤
My mom used to freeze cream in the carton. When thawed, it's fine and ready to whip or use in recipes. Or you can also whip it fresh, add vanilla and sugar (or keep plain for savory dishes) and dollop on a baking tray to flash freeze. When frozen solid store in a bag in the freezer. Pull out desired amount for pie when needed and thaw or put directly on a piece of warm pie.

I give my lemons and limes a quick blast in micro to get the juices flowing as well a rolling them, seems to produce a lot more juice.
