LOLOL!! They forgot to say it works as a great wrist exerciser! Easy to clean...if you use a powerful vacuum cleaner! Of course it has tip saver technology .... you just forgot to connect it to your computer. Great one Rix!
Tips on to to use it properly: 1:when putting the shaving into trash, make sure the sharpener is facing sideways. To do this use you finger or pencil to make it face sideways. 2: if in case you super handy sharpener has a lead breakage in the sharpener u can do these steps: one: use the switch that changes to dull and it will send the lead out. Two open the sharpener (clean it out) then there's a little part for the dull and sharp settings, with a pencil firmly press on to the little green thing to remove the lead. Note this doesn't work with pencils that have a paper like layer (or some kind of art paper in the pencil) because it causes more mess and you will have to take those paper things out which is awkward. Please love this comment so when every starts looking at the video and the comment so they won't feel like they want a refund on this product
I love this sharpener. For a manual pencil sharpener it works awesome. I do art and draw alot I recently got this sharpener cause I was in hurry and just grabbed one. Love this Rachet twist mechanism. I found it easy to clean . The blade turns all the way around so if something is jammed just turn it towards the opening. Stuff comes right out with no problems. And I think what they mean by the" over sharpen" technology is that it won't sharpen the tip til its so fine is breaks easily. Its in the way the blade is shaped. Sure if you set there and turn twist twist and twist til there's a nub there but the leads tip stays the correct sharpness. It's not gonna stop shaving the wood if you are constantly running it across the blade... come on dude..... in my opinion it's a excellent sharpener. Love the simple rachet mechanism, ( great idea.) Its. easy to use with that for sure... Cleans out easy enough just turn the blade around to the opening if something is stuck is moves all the way around to face the opening. It sharpness perfectly and evenly. I really like it I've used it now for a few several months. Even got a couple more to have on hand around the house and with my art supplies in my studio.. your review was way off on this sorry...
Thank you i appreciate that..it helped me figure out how to get it open couldn't figure it out I have the same color as well Wal-Mart only had 1 left in stock lol
For real I was like so confused like it had an arrow going down so it made me think that I have to pull it down but I didn't expect it to be you know thing on the side
Thank you for this video. Threw directions away (its a pencil sharpener who knew), Ive been trying for over 2 months to dump the shavings out. Been without a sharp pencil until your video.😁 thx
You can clean that out with a small, cheap kid's paint brush. Thanks for the video, I purchased mine at the Goodwill Outlet, no packaging, but in perfect shape. Probably paid 16 cents for it. No mess as you are sharpening and no sense in trying to overdo it on the sharpening.
It works great if you are smarter than the reviewer. The tip is saved by not falling off of the pencil, as is the case with regular sharpeners, when over sharpened by someone who doesn't know how to use a pencil sharpener. I still saw a sharp tip(saved), even though it was over sharpened. It is also easy to empty if you simply turn the sharpener with your pencil still inside, what a mind blowing concept. Not mentioned by reviewer was the statement that it works well on colored pencils. It does this as well, which is why I purchased it. Colored pencils are Infamous for breaking, and the leads falling out of the pencil, or just not sharpening well. I find coloring relaxing, and this sharpener has a lot to do with it. I don't get frustrated when sharpening my colored pencils anymore. Therefore, I hope those of you who are looking for a sharpener for colored pencils will pick this one; it really works well.
Well, there's the answer. You just have to be smarter than me. That would probably be 98% of the population. Oh shucks. With all the sharpeners reviewed, this is junk. Just my opinion, but then, I'm a dummy. ;-b
Thank you for this video ha I bought one of these on Amazon and there were no instructions. It was so full and I was worried about breaking it until I finally found your video on how to open and empty it. You are awesome thank you :)
Highly amusing review. It had been so long since I purchased sharpener, that I couldn't figure out how to open up the shavings reservoir. It was like a Chinese finger lock, as I struggled with it. However, your video was so amusing that I continued to watch it for the full 15 minutes. 👍
Now that's probably the best reason I've ever read for watching this video to the end. Kudos and thanks. This review is one of the most controversial of all my reviews. There is a small fanbase for this sharpener, for reasons I'll never understand. I get my money's worth by using it for target practice. :-)
@@RixCanDoit I don't know it's actually pretty good stopping spotted pencils pretty good and it's actually quite simple to get the pencil shavings out and it's easy to carry like the design is pretty good I kind of want to still take it apart though cuz it's basically useless to me
You gotta turn the blade to face the clear side of the sharpener to make for a wider space to empty pencil shavings. I think what it meant by "tip saver" is that the sharp point won't break while sharpening; as with other pencil sharpeners.
I tried the suggestion on turning the blade but it didn't help. As for the "tip saver", I'm sure you are right. But I have to say, it's pretty meaningless considering that every sharpener, cheap and otherwise, that I've reviewed to date did not break the tip. A dull blade on any sharpener will, and that goes for this one as well. You gotta love their gimmicky claims though to make it sound extra special. But hey, it cost less than $3 so you get what you pay for, as they say. Thanks for commenting!
I keep one of these in my pocket despite its obvious shortcomings, for the most part because of A) ratchet mechanism and B) containment. I've got Prismacolor and KUM twist sharpeners and while the actual sharpening part is far superior, they've had containment failures that make them poor choices for using on the go. Granted, the Twist'n'Sharp contains shavings so well it's hard to get them out sometimes. I've looked up other ratchet pencil sharpeners and Sonic's Ratchetta line looks interesting. The regular Ratchetta is just about identical to the Twist'n'Sharp, with the side door. But the "One" and "Capsule" models have a removable top. *Edit a few days later* I've obtained a Ratchetta Capsule (from JetPens). Overall about the same size as the Twist'n'Sharp. A little taller and narrower. Ratchet mechanism and sharp/dull dial looks identical. But, the top with the sharpener assembly can be fully removed from the reservoir, attached by a bayonet fitting, which I'm pleased about. If it had been a simple friction fit, I would be concerned that after some wear and tear, the fit would loosen as minor cracks start to develop. That was what happened with my Prismacolor sharpener.
It might be good for Prismacolor pencils. Leads have a tendency to break while sharpening on those. The trick is to turn the sharpener, not the pencil, which this seems ideal for.
Best video ever. Definitely appreciate the humor. I just bought 3 of these. They will be returned. I experienced same issues. What is your recommendation for a manual sharpener?
I'm 6 minutes into the video and still have had ZERO useful info about this sharpener. This video should have gotten to the point (pun intended) in under two minutes total. Not sure why people waste other people's time like this.
I'm so glad it wasn't just user error. I absolutely love a nice sharp pencil. I absolutely hate this sharpener all it kept doing was breaking the pencils over and over. I look it up to make sure I wasn't the only one with the same issues. It took me forever as well to clean. It was a waste of money and a big disappointment. Thank you for sharing.
Ok this is what I do to get the shavings out. I take my pointer finger and push it against the hole where you put your pencil. Then I start turning my finger to the right which will turn the sharpener making easier to get the shavings out. Edit: you can use a pencil and turn it to the right aswell

I have one of those but is blue and i was looking for pink but they didnt have it at were i looked for it which was Walmart, i only found the pink one online. Oh and there is only blue pink and that redish
Just a tip when using a knife you want you know use your momentum to drive it into that basically I mean before you even stabbed into something you want to move your wrist in whatever Direction you are trying to cut
Obviously if you move the pencil one was it sharpens and if you move it the the other it spins the core. If you spin the core while trying to empty the sharpiner the core will act as a pusher.
Thank you so much for laugh. I’m not a good at other languages either. Thank you for turning the package over. I wanted to know how to empty it. My daughter doesn’t use it. I got the bluish green looking one. 😎
I love this sharpener! JUST USE TWEEZERS TO CLEAN IT OUT! SIMPLE! ITS BEST HAND SHARPENER! OTHER THAN THE ISSUE OF IT HAVING A SMALL CASE!! HAD THEY MADE IT 10MM larger in circumference AND had the cover on the opposite side maybe? it would have not caught all the shavings maybe?

To clean the back of the pencil sharpener, all you have to do is put in the pencil like you sharpening it but you rotate the pencil the opposite way of sharpening. You should hear a bunch of clicks
