  • What’s up everybody!!!
In this episode of the 1994 Ford Mustang Rebuild I get new tires, repair the idle issue and get the floor pans repaired.
Before I can spend some much needed time repairing the floor pans, I need to first replace the serpentine belt as the older belt was cracked and brittle. I also noticed the car started idling rough so I decided to run a code reader on it. Turned out the camshaft position sensor had gone bad. This was a fairly straight forward and simple fix. Ran the code reader one more time after replacing the sensor, started it up and all seemed in order. I was also in need of some new rubber!! I decided to go with a set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500’s. They grip up well and give increased confidence in the wet weather. After fitting the stang with some new shoes, it was on to the floor pans. I had to cut out the rotted old pans without removing too much car. Once the area was cut out and cleaned up, I went over to Home Depot to grab sheet metal and sealant. For now this will be the repair that make sense. Functionally and financially this was the right route for me. Once I get further into the build I can look at fully replacing the floor pans and welding everything together.
