    These ramps are fantastic. I had the long set when I had my lifted truck and bought the shortest set when I bought my new truck that is stock. These ramps are better than any other ramp out there, hands down. Plus they're made in the USA. I'm sold on them for sure.

    I came up with a safe fool proof way to load my atv in my truck. I have a winch on the front which I attach to a hook in the front of the truck bed. With the front tires lined up with the ramp and the ATV in neutral I use the remote winch cable to pull it up the ramp and into the bed. Sitting on the ATV to steer isn't necessary and adds too much weight. As the ATV is pulled up I check to make sure tires are lined up in the process. In getting the ATV out of the truck I use the same remote system. Very safe with little chance of injury to myself, the truck or ATV.

    Inspect the truck’s tailgate cables , they are intended to hold an unfolded tailgate and not much other weight . The rubber coating holds moisture in the cable’s strands . Let Crosby fabricate a strong set for your tailgate . Lubricate the cables .

    One piece ramps are still the best, and when you tie them down, use a ratchet strap and move the anchor point to the top of the ramp as much as possible, it will secure the ramp to prevent "kick-out" the lower the anchor point is placed the less effective it is. The Canadian Safety Council recommends you "push" your ATV off the back of the truck for maximum safety, as loading and unloading are one of the leading causes of injuries and collisions. If done correctly many style of ramps can be used in a safe and secure manner. Its all about operator awareness.

      Also cause of the size of the tires on the trailer you really can’t go that fast enough maybe 60 miles an hour when on some trailers you can go up to 80 miles an hour .

  • @JBodine67
    @JBodine67 11 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Place a spare tire up against the front of the bed will prevent the broken window scenerio.Also,a trailer is 100% safer; and a pickup tailgate will take a pounding loading wheelers on trucks.The 2 worst things about a trailer is they beat and thrash along behind you,making for a noisy trip to wherever;and,it can be hard to turn around with a trailer in real world apps....So,I like the long ramps,but they look like something a thief would love to run away with.

    • @gregrowe1168
      @gregrowe1168 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've used blocks of wood on the floor to stop the machine from going too far forward. On most utility quads, the front bumper sticks out too far and will smash your back window before the tires hit the front of the bed.

    • @antsusa215
      @antsusa215 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      With a trailer strap the ATV down and use cinder block or blocks of wood in front of the tires. Then put the E-brake on works like a charm

    Got a trifold ramp that works just fine.
    If someone is gonna constantly complain about having to fold n unfold the ramps or you feel unsafe while loading or unloading then buy a damn trailer.
    Don't be careless while setting up your ramps and purchase those that are rated for what you'll be using them for.
    Use common sense and you will be just fine.

    how well do the ramps fit in your truck after you have loaded it. do they compact enough to fit underneath or do they have to go on the side?

  • @ghilliemanreviews
    @ghilliemanreviews 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Wow watching you unfold the trifold ramps is all wrong. Idk if you did it to make the ones you’re advertising look better or if you really don’t know how to unfold them. Lay the ramp folded on the tailgate. Then unfold whichever way your ramps unfold. Nothing awkward. If anything they’re the easiest to set up because there’s no lining up the ramps just right. The best ramp to buy IMO are the aluminum trifold ramp from harbor freight. They come with a safety chain built in where you can twist it to tighten them. They’re the cheapest at only a $100 compared to other trifold ramps. They’re also safe. I had older steel ramps and I felt at any moment strapped or not I could be on the ground. I got these and when I’m riding up I feel safe. They also look good too. 1500 pound capacity is more than enough to handle your four wheeler or dirt bike as well.

    • @richreynolds3647
      @richreynolds3647 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just bought the Harbor Freight tri-fold ramp and think it is a good value and a nice sturdy ramp. But in my opinion, it is too short by at least 12" resulting in an unsafe incline. The tabs that sit on the ledge of the truck gate are not as beefy as they should be, and after one use, the cushy sticky tape tore off due to the weight and compression while loading. I am returning the Harbor Freight ramp and will be ordering one of these in the 8' length.

    I hate how everything is tailored for people that can afford the best of the best products. A lot of us are real world blue collar workers that want to see good products we can afford. Not the overpriced products we simply can’t afford or would need to put that money elsewhere on our rigs.
