Great , I now know how to root roses ,I liked the way you went straight to the task and explained the procedure .Too many of these "How to ......." videos go round and round the houses before getting to the point of showing me what I want to know and I thank you for that.

One recommendation I learned from working at a botanical garden for a summer was to not dip your cuttings into the rooting hormone bottle, but to pour the rooting hormone into a dish and dip from there. If you dunk cuttings into the bottle you can get virus or other diseases into the hormone and it can spread from cutting to cutting. If you pour it out onto a dish or something, the chance of this is reduced and you can at least still have a good bottle left if the cuttings were infected.

@@archiev.1633 it definitely helps I've used clonex as well but since I found honey to me it's better it's natural no chemicals. If you would like to make it slightly stronger you can mix aloe vera and coconut water. If you mix those three you would need to dilute with water for sure. Try it you'll see what I'm talking about.

Too much moisture can definitely make the cuttings rot and die.I'm pretty sure that's why some people have failed with this method and many others. Humidity definitely is different wherever you live so people need to know this that way they can prevent rot and fungus! Also please include the best time of the year for the best results and mention that all cuttings may not survive as with any propagation!

When is the best time to do this? Summer, Fall? I live in North East Oklahoma and winter does get below freezing.

Always try to propagate cuttings in temperate and humid weather. The cuttings can have enough temperature and humidity to start growing and rooting.🌯

Thanks for sharing your info , will try it this way but do you seal the entire top of the container/or home made green house ? How would I recognize if the roses are beginning to become/develop fungus? What do you suggest I spray the plant with if I notice it getting that way. Any home made remedies? Thanks again, god bless!

I use worm tea on all of my fruit , veg and plants! Great results and most of all it can't burn the roots or leafs

Great video! I tried and failed at growing a new rose by using a method on another video which I’m sure you’re familiar with. I used powder root hormone and put it in a potato and planted it in a pot. I live in a dry climate and didn’t have cellophane or plastic over it other than one of five I planted - which I put a 2 L bottle over. That stem did not die but did not grow any new leaves. I am excited to try your method as it seems like it might work much better. Plus I won’t have thousands of gnats or fruit flies swarming the fermenting potato. Yuck!!
At what point do you put it in a pot or the ground? Is powder hormone OK to use? Is there a type of rose that succeeds more often than others? Thanks!

What time of the year is best to do this, should you do it at the end of the year when pruning and use the pruned cuttings or do you need to do it in the summer where the cuttings can start growing straight away?
