well this may sound stupid to you, but I'm 57 years old and I grew up part-time with my dad in Las Vegas... the song brings back very fond memories of when I was really young ....walking through the casinos to the restaurants or wherever it was always being played on the speakers in the background.🤍
Turning 90 years old in May...this man is touring this year and still doing fantastic shows. Love this tune and more of Frankie's...great reaction Shawn 🎤🎶💖
I'm going to see Frankie Valli TONIGHT, at Radio City Music Hall!!!! How cool you're reacting to Frankie today!!! I grew up with the Four Seasons back in the 60s, it seems like they were always on the radio. I saw Frankie at Radio City when he was 87 years old, and his voice was just as great as it ever was. Tonight I see him and he is 89!! He has a group of "new" Four Seasons now
@tchampagne1494 he's amazing. At 87 years old, he hit every note perfectly, and only left for a fast break once. At the end of the concert, he handed out his CD to people in the front row, waved to all of us and said "see you next year!!" We'll, it's a bit past "next year" but he's 89 now!
You could spend the next couple of weeks doing Frankie Vallie reactions, and most of us would be fine with it. "Sherry," "Walk Like A Man," "Ragdoll," and many more huge hit songs from the early to mid 60s . They made a movie and Broadway play about these guys called "Jersey Boys." Lots more for you to dive into.
YES!! This is such a great song. "(Dec 1963) Oh What A Night" and "Who Loves You", both by The Four Seasons of which Frankie Valli was a member, are among my favorite songs ever and awesome songs to check out! There was a whole Broadway show done about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons celebrating all of their great music! As you read, local radio stations were often responsible for exposing listeners to songs to become breakout hits. Today, almost all radio stations (and streaming sites) are owned by national conglomerates that make decisions that all their stations must follow, taking out any break out opportunities that used to exist with locally owned stations.
Shawn is a perceptive listener -- I like the way he immediately noticed how the second verse has a much different, and more "explosive" vibe, than the first verse.
When this song was released, the music industry didn't know what to do with this song. It was groundbreaking when it was new. A classic song that I'll always love.
This is Frankie's best song, solo or with the Four Seasons. His second best solo song is My Eyes Adored You, and a good next step if you want to check out more. If you're into movies, Jersey Boys is an excellent movie about their careers.
Frankie Valli was great solo, but to get the true voice of Frankie you need to listen to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Sherry, oh what a night, walk like a man, let's hang on, rag doll, big girls don't cry, and grease. Just to name a few.
I just love Franki Valli & the Four Seasons ❤️❤️. They had so many hits , Sherry, Big Girls don't cry , Begging ( the original) , Oh what a night , Rag Doll, walk like a man to name a few . Thanks for reacting to them, I hope you will check out their other hits
The first concert I ever attended was Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons in Baltimore. I think it must have been around 1964. Such a remarkable voice. Yeah he had his lapses trying to keep up with the trends of the time through the Disco era, but the old classics are the best. This song did not feature the Four Seasons harmonies, which were superb, of course, but it was always his voice that shined.
Ya. The Four Seasons began as a DooWop group. Had multiple hits in the sixties. Frankie has had a long career covering different styles. You may know him from the song Grease from the movie Grease.
Shawn the depth of your musical adventures is paying off by playing Frankie Valli, The 4 seasons was one of my favs back in the day, Thanks for playing this awesome piece of the 60’s and thanks to all of the people that advise you.
So, here is "Can't Take My Eyes Off from tonight's concert at Radio City Music Hall, NYC, with Frankie at 89 years old. Please forgive the crappy video quality. My phone is garbage. But you'll hear it just fine! 😂 th-cam.com/video/kHQ8qcdRBgE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uI-gJLU_68rY1V0d
This was what rock ‘n’ roll was like a heavy jazz influence before the Beatles came along and changed rock ‘n’ roll A lot of those bands didn’t survive the British invasion, but Frankie Valli did
This is really old school talking to you, Lady stuff - next thing you know, you're married with kids. Great pick, Shawn - you know you've been there, Brotherman.
LOL, my wife and her girlfriend just paid $159 each to see Frankie Valli in Vegas in April, I hope dude will still be alive, he's 89 years old, he's just a tad bit older than the Rolling Stones, they're coming to Vegas in a couple of months.
Frankie Valli started out with "The Four Seasons" back in the 60's. They had so many hits together such as "Silence Is Golden", "Sherry", "Rag Doll", "Candy Girl", "Walk Like A Man", "Ronnie", "Dawn", "Let's Hang On!", "Working My Way Back To You", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night)" etc. When Frankie went out on his own in the 70's, he had the hit songs "My Eyes Adored You" & "Can't Take My Eyes Off You". He also had a hit with the song "Grease" from the movie. Always loved that he was able to sing in a falsetto voice.
Frankie Valli and the Four seasons! Such a rewarding Rabbit Hole to go down. If you really are going to make this jump, I highly recommend these iconic Mega hits: Walk Like a Man, Big Girls Don't Cry, Sherry, Ragdoll, Silence is Golden, Ronnie, and Dawn.( I think Ragdoll gives me the most Goosebumps)
I was soo happy to see this! So the 4 Seasons were actually my first favorite group. I remember “Sherry” .. “Walk like a man” .. “Big girls don’t cry”…. And on and on and ON! Beatles came in a bit… The Beach Boys… so much amazing music! You need to hear some of the 4 seasons early stuff… Frankie could belt it out with a never to be forgotten falsetto! I’m excited now… because I know you will be checking them out! 😀
Hi Shawn! Thanks for reacting to this terrific group! Their music is AMAZING! Rag Doll is my favourite, however there is SO many you could do! Please goo down this rabbit hole? You won’t regret it! Thanks again! Peace and Blessings from Australia.
If you're up to a movie reaction or just want to check it out with the family watch Jersey Boys it's the story behind Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons

It is amazing how he can still reach the falsetto at 90 plus years old. Stunning!!!
So cool. Enjoy!!
Awesome, I'm 70 and have always adored him.@@subwaygoddess1
@@tedcole9936 thank you!!
……Frankie is still on tour today !!! (89) yrs old and still sounds great !!! Check out Big Girls “don’t cry”
The Four Seasons had tons of hit records just before The Beatles arrived in America and started the British Invasion.
Love this song, reminds me of childhood memories.
Great memory of this song, dancing with my dad at my wedding back in 77!!
Man, I grew up listening to this kind of music. So awesome!
Singing along word for word even as I listen....love, love, love this song 😍
I haven't heard this in forever...what a great song!

Frankie comes to Las Vegas every now and then. Never miss a show.
I think he's in residency at the Hilton there now.
Oh, this song is sooooo good!❤
You'll love My eyes adored you!
And with The four seasons, "December 63" and "Who loves you" are great!
Shawn is a perceptive listener -- I like the way he immediately noticed how the second verse has a much different, and more "explosive" vibe, than the first verse.
This what music is supposed to sound like, not the garbage today
Agreed.
I agree too for SURE!
When this song was released, the music industry didn't know what to do with this song. It was groundbreaking when it was new. A classic song that I'll always love.
Getting chills listening to Frankie. So so good! Solo and with the 4 Seasons he is fabulous!!!

You should watch Jersey Boys...about their start & fame. Great music in there.
"Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is a 1967 song written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio.
This song is so romantic but also rocks, great combo
Frankie Valli was great solo, but to get the true voice of Frankie you need to listen to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Sherry, oh what a night, walk like a man, let's hang on, rag doll, big girls don't cry, and grease. Just to name a few.

Thank goodness folks are listening to Frankie Valli songs other than "Oh What a Night" where he hardly song at all. He had so many# 1 hit records.
A later song they did called “Who Loves You” is good too. Also should listen to “Lightnin’ Strikes” by Lou Christie.
I listen to this song at least once a week.
Love the horns!!

Yeah, man. CKLW in Windsor DROVE Detroit radio back in the day. Higher power from across the river!
Ya. The Four Seasons began as a DooWop group. Had multiple hits in the sixties. Frankie has had a long career covering different styles. You may know him from the song Grease from the movie Grease.
A classic!🤩Much more where this came from!
The Four Seasons were such a huge part of my teen years, even my mother loved them!
My mother did too… she took me to see them live in the 60!s!
💕💕💕💕 Try "December 1963 (Oh, What A Night)", "Sherry", "My Eyes Adored You", "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Let's Hang On".
Every time I hear this song, I think about the bar scene in The Deer Hunter.
Same! What a great scene!
Shawn the depth of your musical adventures is paying off by playing Frankie Valli, The 4 seasons was one of my favs back in the day, Thanks for playing this awesome piece of the 60’s and thanks to all of the people that advise you.
This tune is a beauty. ❤. Danced to it sooo often 😊 being loved like that is the best 😢
So, here is "Can't Take My Eyes Off from tonight's concert at Radio City Music Hall, NYC, with Frankie at 89 years old. Please forgive the crappy video quality. My phone is garbage. But you'll hear it just fine! 😂

smooth as silk!!
This was what rock ‘n’ roll was like a heavy jazz influence before the Beatles came along and changed rock ‘n’ roll A lot of those bands didn’t survive the British invasion, but Frankie Valli did
My favorite song from Frankie is My Eyes Adored You.❤
My favorite from the four seasons is probably, December 1963 Oh what a night.
One of my favorites 💗💗💗💗
You're getting medium high Frankie in this one, wait till you get to "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Dawn".
"Rag doll" could be next. Great tune.
Love Frankie Valle, Bobby Vinton is also good, same quality. Try "Blue on Blue", my favorite.
My favorite from Frankie Valli solo and with the Four Seasons
Frankie has a huge catalog, I hope you play “ Sherry Baby! “👍🩵🩵
God I wish I could go back to those times. Seemed like a better simpler world.
Love this song ~ miss this style of writing ~
This is really old school talking to you, Lady stuff - next thing you know, you're married with kids. Great pick, Shawn - you know you've been there, Brotherman.
Saw Frankie about 5 years ago in Ventura Ca. He was about 80 and still has that smooth effortless voice. Unbelievable
they don't make em like they used to
This song was always played at our school’s dances, what a great time
always loved this tune as a lighthearted romantic frolic. Then I watched 'The Deer Hunter'. Everything turned upside down.
Fab song
Watch JERSEY BOYS !!!!
Fabulous film - the music was so great! Watched it three times.

So many great songs in that group. How do you decide? "Big Girls Don't Cry" was a mega hit, but they were all mega hits.
My goodness 🤩such a beautiful song♥️🎶💙
