Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons were singing stuff that sounded a lot like Motown, before Motown was a record label a few years later. In the early 60s, these guys were on top of the music world. Then, Like all of the other American performers, like Elvis, and the others, they dropped down a notch or two with "The British Invasion of Band's like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and many others. Franki Valli was so good. So many hit songs.
Walking down the sidewalk, Newport Beach, summer 67 listening to my "Transistor" radio and this song comes on....WOW. We all knew Frankie and The Four Seasons were damn good, but, this one blew everybody away. Just hearing it brings me back to that moment.... Music Is Magical.
Was that you? I hope you mean CA, I spent a summer there, and loved digging for sand crabs to sell to the shore fishermen so I could buy my Hershey's cocoa butter for the day!
Frankie Valli's voice is LEGENDARY. You want to look into The Four Season's playlist....Incredible stuff in the 60's filled the clubs with great tunes like this. Thanks again.
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons span a lot of decades. Some you should check out: "Grease", "Who Loves You", "Dec. 63 (Oh What a Night), "Sherry", "Walk Like a Man", "Working My Way Back To You", "My Eyes Adored You', "C'mon Marianne" and so many more!
Perfect singing group for the time. They had some great songs with tight musicians and arrangements. I guess you could call them a real slice of Americana.
Franki Valli & the 4 Seasons Sherry , Walk like a man , my eyes adored you, Big girls don't cry , Rag Doll, just for starters 🔥. Great reaction , thanks
If you had a Dime for every time this song was dedicated on radio and events like weddings you would have enough to buy..... you name it, just about anything you wanted.
My Friend, you just added another of the iconic performers from the 60's - 70's - 80's name to your Top Shelf Playlist.... AWESOME. Thanks again....108... so far
A number one hit record for Frankie Valli in 1967 and the 5th most played song of the 20th Century. Written by Four Seasons band member Bob Gaudio & Producer Bob Crewe. Valli & The Four Seasons went on to have over 60 Billboard Chart records in their career. A fantastic review my friend.
@@tedostrowski1379 Yes made it to number two on the Billboard Chart, but went to number one in Cashbox & Record World and remained at number one for two weeks in each of those industry mags.
My friend John Zov used to do this song on a Piano & Hammond Organ at the same time. He got a standing ovation with a crowd of over 500 in Newport Beach 1977. Now you know who I'm talking about and know his talents. It was awesome.
1980.... 26 years old, I sang the chorus to my girlfriend Danita, (6 foot tall Blonde "Barbie")... she was in the shower and I was inspired to sing this song.
With the Four Seasons, Frankie Valli had dozens of hits but this is probably his best one. Frankie was a self-professed fan of Frank Sinatra and it is kind of done in that style. The Four Seasons did a Frank Sinatra cover and had a big hit in the mid-60s with I've Got You Under My Skin. You should definitely check that one out.
Smooth! Smooth, super sixties smooth. You know you've got the classic version when the tambourine kicks in during the big chorus before the song turns around to start again with a Motown like sound of four piece combo and strings. Dig how the various instruments subtly introduce themselves in the opening verses before all joining together as a full orchestra. And that drum line -- right from the start it guarantees a groovy vibe. When you're ready for more from Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, check out "Big Girls Don't Cry", "Sherry", "Walk Like A Man", "Who Loves You", "My Eyes Adored You", and "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" among many others.
As I see it, having lived it, in the 60's-70's songs came on the radio ALL THE TIME that you couldn't wait to hear it again... Call the station and request it, at least 80% was great stuff. Today's music I hear it and think... I never want to hear that again. It all sounds the same digital crap, barely 20% is worth hearing more than once. We were so lucky.
I just seen Frankie Valli and the four seasons one week ago in Niagara Falls at the casino that was Frankie's last concert he's 90 years old now you've always be a legend in my mind great reaction to some old style music
Great review brutha, you really nailed it! This song was played probably 10 times a day when I was a kid when it was on the charts. Frankie Valli was one of a kind back then and the Four Seasons made many great songs in the 60's and 70's, do some more reactions to their songs I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
Frankie Valli and the Four Season had about 20 Gold Records. One of the vest bands in the 60's, if not the best. JMBOY, try "Opus 17" ... one of their best songs.
It's a classic, but why do YT reactors all do the same song at the same time? Doesn't anyone take chances anymore instead of following the leader? Why not react to something else from the same album?

Frankie Valli !!!! You need to explore him and the Four Seasons !!!!!! Sooooo good !!
They were always on the radio when I was little. :}
The Beach Boys and the Four Seasons held the fort during the British Invasion.
…..just went to see Jersey Boys 2 weeks ago ! What a story of Frankie Valli and his road to success ❤️
Great reaction….. his catalog is “Amazing”
I liked the movie too. I had no idea Joe Pesci helped them get their break.
Many called The Four Seasons... "America's Beatles" back in the 60's both groups owned the radio waves and charts
AGREED!!!!
I am old enough to have seen Frankie Valli when I was 17. In NYC.
This is a beautiful song, heard this for the first time when I was just a young girl but I grew up with Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.
I can’t hear this song without remembering one of the greatest movie scenes from “The Deer Hunter”. 🔥
I love watching all of y’all’s faces of young people listening to music that I grew up with.
Me too. They are usually blown away at the great music we grew up with.
Swearing to God the best Frankie Valli and 4 Seasons ❤❤❤
Perfect singing group for the time. They had some great songs with tight musicians and arrangements.
I guess you could call them a real slice of Americana.
Great reaction to a legendary song👍
Franki Valli & the 4 Seasons Sherry , Walk like a man , my eyes adored you, Big girls don't cry , Rag Doll, just for starters 🔥. Great reaction , thanks
All are great tunes
Seeing only ONE person, knowing they are too, and comfortable enough to give them the heart.
That's what has disappeared.
Saw him in concert a few years ago and his voice was amazing!
Sherry Frankie Valli!

It never got to number 1, stalled at number 2

such an uber cool song. I feel like I should be on beach patio , pina colada in hand, with my favorite gal by my side.
I'll join you my friend. I requested this, if you didn't know.
Frankie Valli is in "THE SOPRANOS"
This is their best song
This song when the people are having breakfast at the bar in "Deer Hunter" movie? Raises the hairs on your arms.

This song was featured in 10 Things I Hate About You. Heath Ledger did a lipsync and dance to Julia Stiles.
oh Yeah , that's the ticket ❤❤❤
Fantastic reaction to a fantastic song!
I cant believe someone is an adult and has never heard this song somewhere before
Almost sounds like a throwback to 1950’s crooners music (Sinatra)
Classic
HUGE HIT!!! IT'S IN MOVIE "DEERHUNTER" 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤❤❤❤❤❤

Four Seasons Rag Doll
Hey My friend, this tune is going to get some views....YEP
Massive.
❤
Swearing to God is possibly the best by the 4 Seasons
❤❤❤ welcome to the 60s and 70s the four seasons were an icon like almost as big as the Beatles❤❤❤❤ I like the four seasons better❤❤❤❤

Are you familiar with Weather Report. It’s more of a jazz type sound. Listen to the song Heavy Weather.
