  • Here is my design process for the glasses from start to finish. I'm designing a custom pair of glasses that I can wear in future videos! Banton frameworks is an eyewear company in Scotland and they handmake all of their frames. I can't wait to see how they turn out! Subscribe to catch the next episode when it drops, where we'll be showing the manufacturing process and unboxing.

    This is really fun to watch, i've been an eye-wear designer for 6 years, designed about 150+ frames. still had a few moments 'huh that interesting to do it that way' i will try that.

    Stunning video!. Love how you show all the steps in detail but without getting too technical 👍. What’s your thoughts about 3D printing to create a mock up ( Instead of printed paper )?

    • @SamDoesDesign
      @SamDoesDesign  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! I wanted to show the whole process but keep it short and snappy. And 3D printing would have worked great for this project! It definitely would have helped with the flimsy paper and awful scissors. Maybe I'll look into getting a 3D printer soon...

    For quick personal project to do within a weekend, would you recommend learning shaper3D or continue with solidworks?
    Also what is better for organic, flowy soft shapes, shaper3D or Solidworks?
    cheers!

    • @SamDoesDesign
      @SamDoesDesign  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Shapr3D is great to design on the go and get some quick shapes down, but for soft and flowing shapes I recommend sticking with Solidworks. Have fun!

    Hey - Tremendous video! Thank you!
    I am an instructional video SNOB.
    From those like yours to golf instruction - hand gun tutorials and reviews and on.
    I end up not being able to force myself to sit through many if not most videos for such reasons as:
    A)Hosts believing they are auditioning for a spot on a late night TV show
    B) Nonsensical rambling
    C) Boring and/or irritating hosts who are convinced they are entertaining
    D) The most common being hosts who have never been on camera before so they tend to speak as if they’re doing a Radio Show narrating every single thought action - things they see off camera along with every detail of what a friend or pet in the room is doing. Etc.
    YOU on the other hand are straight to the point. No wasted words. No history lectures on every haircut you ever had ‘til arriving at the one in this video.
    You “push” or “force” absolutely Nothing.
    You have a naturally interesting presence about you and never try to be anything you’re not.
    As far as I can tell not once did you repeat yourself -
    and now - certain that I’m boring you to no end and with faith that you most likely got the jist of my point about 2 lines in I will shut up.
    Seriously - what a pleasure -
    One question: I am in Los Angeles California- how and where does one go to learn how to use the equipment you’re working on and with.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Be well -
    THANK YOU AGAIN for a wonderful job with this
