- In this bass fishing video I throw a topwater frog only in a fishing tournament and catch some big bass! Topwater frog fishing has to be one of my favorite ways to catch big bass! I decided to challenge myself in this bass fishing tournament and only allow myself to fish with a frog! The fishing tournament videos have been so much fun to film and edit so I hope y'all enjoy! Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could th-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

Watching your videos inspired me to put more effort into my fishing, and I have to say it payed off! I ended up switching to a baitcaster since all my open reels were older than dirt and could barely cast anymore and started switching up my fishing tactics and lures based off what I’ve seen on your channel and ended up catching my PB bass a few weeks later! Completely revived my interest in fishing man love the channel!

Bigger frog lure tend to bring bigger fish after it. It looks like there is only decent size fish there because he is luring the BIGGER bass to him. That is the difference between an experienced fisherman and your casual fisherman who don't care what they are catching as long as its something.

Congrats on your fishing tournament Noah! Back on May 18, 2022 I caught my new PB Largemouth Bass on an unnamed 4 acre lake that's connected to Clearwater Lake by a large culvert near Annandale, Minnesota using a simple slip bobber, spit shot, a size 2 hook baited with an angle "big red" worm. She was 20.75 inches long and weighed approx. 5.2 lbs. I also caught two 4 pounders as well one on Lake Marie near Fairhaven, MN and one at Heritage Park in St Cloud.

Can you teach me how to set up my first baitcaster combo?
Couple helpful tips for you.
Make sure you’re keeping the line out of the water because splashing the line as you do when reeling in the from actually spooks the fish.
Also you’re setting the hook way to soon and definitely way too aggressive and you keep yanking it out of the fish mouth. Try those and you’ll be pro!
With a fake frog when a fish bites down the hooks get exposed if you don’t set the hook right when it bites it realizes it’s fake and spits it out
@@iamderek.8312 duh 😂 but yanking it with all your might will either pull straight out of the fishs mouth or rip it’s lip in half

I think he's on par. I'm not a pro but know I can fish with the best of them sometimes you just don't hook up right and it is what it is. I've been watching this guy when I'm bored he is teaching alot of people knowledge that I know I've been fishing for 30years of the 35 of my life and to hear someone telling beginners legit information is nice. We had to wait on Saturday morning to watch the pros on TV before we left for our fishing trips if we wanted to pick up on tips. Dudes hand serving it on TH-cam. Future rules. I'v never spooked fish with line. Noise in water seems to attract fish for me. Maybe I just do it differently. He does use weedless frogs when there are no weeds. I just think he needs to bend the hooks up a little to help hook up ratio. I prefer poppers in clear water. Same action tp get reaton bites but with two treble hooks.

I noticed you turning the Ultrex by hand. Does it by chance still work with the remote? If so, I’d bet you have a bad circuit board in the pedal. Anyway, keep slaying dude.
Do you always use a bait after when throwing a frog? When I use a spinning real after I pop the frog and real in the slack all of the line I just threw out is loose on my real. Therefore causing knots in my line when I cast out again. Please help. Thank you Noah!
