Also helpful: meerkats, keybound familiar scrolls, keybound opening clues and all types of cluesteps, keybound teleports, knowing what are you're going to teleport to with globetrotter because the step takes too long, like desert or wilderness, knowing what you're going to skip with globetrotter because the step takes too long, (obviously also having all the hideyholes and globetrotter) and having the perfect inventory setup. 20 is still insane after all of that. Puzzleboxes and movement are the biggest hurdle
Hilarious video, very well-made, loved the sound effects! Doing clues rn so wanted to watch other people share the suffering, this vid put it very succintly
I feel so bad for anyone still clicking on the slider puzzles. I use arrow keys and inverted keyboard controls and I cannot recommend it enough. I think it's faster than clicking and the fear of carpal tunnel is eliminated entirely just from this one switch. I usually do 14-16 elites per hr while straight chilling (ie watching another video while clue hunting)
I've tried this, but I can't keep up at the same intervaI speed I use when I use the mouse. It doesn't help that I need to press the same key multiple times when I need to move part of a row or column, whereas I only need to click once if I'm using the mouse. What interval speed do you use?
@@0huigelaar0 Yea the spamming of a mouse key if you have to move across a row or up/down a column can be a bit weird. I use 0.17 sec for my move interval, I can technically be faster but I start making a decent amount of errors under 0.17 but for me it's still faster than a mouse
Good video! Elites definitely are unnecessarily hard. I hope they can clean up the experience a bit in 2024. My main issue is that they cranked those puzzle box required steps way up when solvers became a thing, but that also made it near impossible without a solver to do clues efficiently. Puzzle boxes in osrs are like 40-60 where as they are easily 120-150 on rs3. As for the video, maybe do lower the volume on those sound effects a bit, but otherwise I enjoyed the structure and editing. Keep it up!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed, and will defs look at the volumes for the next one! Absolutely agree with the puzzle boxes, while I appreciate the high skill ceiling, elites are so unbelievably impractical given how shit the normal loot is
A great video about elite clues! Thank you for making it. And for those who realize how a bad ping can affect your time, two words: Brimhaven Dungeon. You can either teleport to the dragon dungeon and get an insta ping ftw, or, have to go through the entire dungeon chopping vines, or use the Karamja teleport to go to the entrance and go from there. I'm not expert (I'm in the 6-8 elites per hour range and hards take me 4-5mins each), but I'm trying. The buff event today was a good practice run for me, as I managed to get 11 elites, 10 hards, 8 masters and 2 easy's done in those 2hrs (and 5 mins lol. Missed the last hard clue to get me to 10 by 1 clue). Clues are fun, but time consuming and tedious, especially when you go dry for a looooong time on elites. It's why I have 500 easy's done (and still no General Log completed, only missing the...elite clue token and guido). XD
Brimhaven dungeon is a pain to deal with. If you've got the globetrotter body, just use the skip for it if not in the steel dragons, that's by far the most efficient way of doing this one. It's awesome to hear you're enjoying clues, just gotta keep grinding and that big dye drop will come eventually
Thank you! Yesterday's buff got me the body, so just need the boots and backpack to have the full outfit. I found another location that is a skip, the graveyard just south east of Canifis. Takes a full 90+ seconds to get to it. XD I'll be grinding more clues to prep for the buff next week so I can unlock the full globetrotter outfit. Want to finish the General and Easy clue logs at least. :D Again, thank you for your video! @@BloodCovenRS
I have to admit that I do elites coupled only with other tiers to get more outfit charges. It would be nice if they boosted fortunate components rewards from elites.
I am at about 6 minute per elite clue now, sometimes a bit less with very favourable RNG. I cannot imagine getting any much faster than 12 to be honest then again i do clues more ike to relax a bit and dont sweat my absolute ass off haha. Atleast i am far enough now to know 95% of elite clue locations top of my head now and most of the efficient paths on how to get to the dig spot.
Yooo nice going, I found 6 mins average a tough threshold to break through as well. I think at that point you really have to optimise pings to get consistently better times. 12 is still pretty great and would probs help you not burn out from over-optimisation too
i dont really agree. doing elites this way would be more similar to speed running bosses then just regular high tier PvM because your goal is not to do the content but to do it as fast and possible. plus most who sweat this much doing clues get burned out, know a few people who have ten of thousands of clues done, our clan leader has done more then 100k elites alone between all her accounts and she doesnt average 20 clues/h and says that everyone who tries this hard gives up after few thousand elites done
Very true, I do still believe that it would be comparable in difficulty to PvM though, esp considering how formulaic pvm becomes after a while. Defs right about the burnout too! Putting this much effort into any exercise in game and irl is gonna get tiring.
@@BloodCovenRS naaah not really, I mean an average player will never push 10k zammy or smth, at max you can compare it to Zuk or smth in terms of difficulty because elites are all just muscle memory, after some time you just completely turn off your brain and just do them like a zombie with zero thoughs. Same for most PvM now that Necro is this broken, learn 1 rotation and just press buttons in the same exact order over and over again. But for even 1k zammy kill you actually need to think so it's not really comparible and that's what I count as a higher tier PvM cuz bosses like hm Zuk with Necro are honestly piss easy it's kinda dumb..

@@BloodCovenRSI’ve always found it interesting. I also find it really interesting how caffeine and anticipation to stimuli can make a significant difference to those times.
Just some tips I’ve picked up along the way while I’ve been doing more elite clues. For slide puzzles assisted with alt 1, if you get a straight line, you can skip to when it turns and click that instead of clicking every subsequent tile. Really simple but it can end up increasing your speed tremendously. For “click counting” puzzles like Celtic knot or tower puzzles, try to count in bursts of two. It’s easy to track a double click rather than tracking higher amounts. If the number you need to get to is an odd just stop before the multiple of two and click 1 more time. Stupid but it works. For compass puzzles, I almost always use the Kandarin monastery as my first point, it’s a free fast teleport that’s relatively central without having to go through teleport boxes. Another good one would be skeletal horror. For fairy ring/spirit tree teleports, I don’t use the portable invention teleports. Instead I just set my max guild portals for both as fairy ring and spirit tree. Back to the previous point, tree gnome stronghold’s spirit tree is another good starting location for compass starters.

don't get discouraged. you can literally do every piece of content in the game easily, you just need to invest time, have the willingness to learn, and some money in your bank. try to make friends in game and ask if they cant teach you specific content (ex: a certain boss), let them be your mentor. clue scrolls are underrated, you can make insane money with them, theyre better than pvming, start with that so you make enough money to buy end game gear.
Thanks dude! Fortunately RS3 has a lot of ways to express skill and it's really tough to fairly compare them. Elites just tend to be a lesser known one.
After 1,300+ elites, I can confidently say that they're one of the hardest pieces of content to optimize in the game. I think my record is only 15 or 16 in an hour because I'm still not too great at being able to skip the second triangulation most of the time! Nonetheless, for me it's incredibly fun because I love the high profit potential, and I love "solving elite clues" so to speak. It's like learning how to "get good" at elite clues is a giant puzzle, and while I don't normally like puzzles, for some reason I like this one :) Maybe this is a bit off-topic but they also helped me improve my discipline - I stacked my first* 1,000 and opened them all at the same time. It was a pretty surreal experience lol :P * I did like 3 or 4 a few years ago, but besides those it was my first 1,000 :P
I can honestly do the puzzles pretty fast, and I don't even inherently dislike them as puzzles, but there's just too damn many of them, so after a few elites, I'm already loosing my patience
dont know if someone pointed this out yet everything you said almost always requires alt1. so..... 20 clues a hour without alt 1 would theoretically be possible. not using alt 1 takes this from being as hard as high level pvm to being close to impossible
I feel your estimate of clues per hour is outn I've started only recently to learn elite clues, and after about 100-200 done I can average about 16/h without the use of any skips. There actually enjoyable.
I think there's 1 difference between these that will always keep pvm slightly harder than clues. That difference is the impact of a mistake. While someone doing 20 elites an hour is obviously more skillful than someone doing 1 telos kill at 100% or something, if you take 2 pkayers of roughly equal skill and out term in pvm vs clues, the pvm always has the abilitiy to set you back on mistakes and waste a bunch of time. Not thst clues cant waste time, its that the gamble for wasting time is higher in pvm. Mess up a slider, reset and you wasted a minute if youre slow. Mess up a rotation, you could cause yourself to flop or miss a dos check or die. It just carries a bit more risk, which is what im getting at, and this punishes mistakes harder. Imagine if messing up a stepnor tksing to long to conplete a ste destroyed the clue, that's similar to failing a kill. Now, I think they both have a super high skill ceiling, and thats basically as high as the player can make it go. It's virtually limitless. Clues also have 1 thing going for them that's more difficult and thats the lack of repetition. Bosses, for the most part, are the same or similar to each try, and the variance comes with varied adrenaline gains and how the hits land. Whereas clues are varied, so experience is perhaps more valued. Overall, players can find eays to make anything skillful when they really put their mind to it. Humans, in general, do this. Is folding a paper plane hard? No, of course not. Folding 200 in a minute would be and if those can also fly some distance thats insane. Or imagine if each plane was different and all flew, etc.I have no idea if paper planes have any form of competition like this, but it was just the first easy task that came to mind that could be made skillful. Overall, it is a great video. Clues are undoubtedly a form of skill expression to be compared with pvm, and both have an enormous if not unreachable ceiling.
Personally I don't consider elite clues as hard but as extremely TEDIUS to do and NOT FUN and that's entirely because of the slider puzzles. As of right now I've got over 15k clue completions and 2k of those are elites so I have gotten real familiar with slider puzzles. They weren't always as bad as they are right now, they used to be as they are in OSRS, 20 - 30 moves and you're done. With alt1 at maximum efficiency you're always looking at ~120 clicks at minimum for every single slider and pretty much every elite has several of those, that makes for unpleasant tedium and made me hate elite clues to the point that I trade one in the moment I get a slider step. Jagex already has a fix of sorts for that in OSRS, they could add skill challenges and other things they have added there. Something to break the 3 ever repeating steps of elite clues.
i have an ironman so doing elites is even more a pain in the ass without puzzle skips. at least with a hard clue you can skip a puzzle step with the globetrotter backpack, but thats no use with elite clues cause the puzzles are always inside the clue boxes. so every clue point i get i use for puzzle skips for elites. i've only done around 350 elites this way in three years and i have done around 2500 hards. but i did get a shadow dye and a third age staff from elites though. but thats just iron luck?
Feels like you’d have to be a top tier pvmer and cluer to actually make this video with any authority. Compare this with anyone doing 2k speeds at zam (like, sub 6) or solo/duo HM rago speeds
well trying to label it or anything as hardest content in game is misleading to be honest.. yea sure it takes lot of efforts and skills to master but anyone with the requirements can do an elite clue scroll.. also you could say the same about pvm easy to get 1 kill on some boss how about 20 in 1 hour in gwd3 or raksha or any other end game boss for that matter... its easy to do but it takes lot of hours to master.. say something like 4k telos or 12k zammy solo not everyone can do it even if they have the requirements which makes it hard.. still dont think even that can be labelled as hardest content in game but it sure does come close
Very true, fully agree with you on this. My aim was simply to offer a lesser considered competitor to the very commonly praised PvM community. Personally find myself more impressed by the scroll rushers at the moment, hence this video existing. Both deserve huge props though!
I feel so flattered haha. I do 18 elites an hour consistant, without skips, best hour was 24. I have my slider at 0.17. Yes, elites are hard and daunting to leern, but once you learn them, you literally go into auto pilot, you just instinctively know what to do next, its hard to explain haha. It's really satisfying and feels rewarding to be good at elites and clues in general. I'm a cluer over pvmer any day. Great video
Last time I checked, the most efficient way was afking Abyssal Lords with a bik book active. Depending on your gear, just training any skill with consistent exp drops while using bik book is pretty great too, and super easy
i have 1382 elite clue scrolls in my bank.. Haven't done them for years cause I hate the scan locations... Takes forever. I do all the easy, med, hard & master ones. fuck elites.
I don't think it's on the same level. I do think it requires a good amount of skill to do so many an hour but let's be honest alt1 takes 90% of the skill out of it. If it wasn't for alt1 I'd say it is much more difficult to be good at clues than pvm
I actually covered this at around 8 mins into the video! I find alt1 introduced new ways to express skill, but did defs reduce skill expression in other areas
i honestly wished they would make a overhaul of elites and change it so they have a few emote steps etc to simullar to masters, also i do not feel elite clues is hard and i dont even use alt1. never have and im not planing to do it any time soon.
trash activity due to the ability to just buy skip tickets ("top" clue scrollers use skip tickets) and needing to use alt 1 to do them as fast as possible. 3rd party is trash. whole experience is trash.
Some top scrollers do, most do not due to the puzzle skips making scrolls a massive loss per hour. Alt1 is very balanced given how much of a fuck around Elites are, even with Alt1 assistance...but each to their own ig
Pking is by far the hardest thing to master as even the best players in the game in tribrid have lots of room to improve pvm has patterns you can learn players do not
Pking is in a weird spot imo. I actually thought about pking a bit before this video, but given you can almost guaranteed 1 hit ppl with a death guard spec and pking in RS3 is basically completely dead, I thought it wouldn't be fair to give it the title for now.

Meanwhile, the average Old School player does one elite clue approximately once every...
year.
Can't blame y'all tbh, I have no idea how the loot for those even made it through play testing
Big agree with this. Wouldn't mind the slide puzzles if there weren't so many of them tbh
i have an ironman so doing elites is even more a pain in the ass without puzzle skips. at least with a hard clue you can skip a puzzle step with the globetrotter backpack, but thats no use with elite clues cause the puzzles are always inside the clue boxes. so every clue point i get i use for puzzle skips for elites. i've only done around 350 elites this way in three years and i have done around 2500 hards. but i did get a shadow dye and a third age staff from elites though. but thats just iron luck?
Feels like you’d have to be a top tier pvmer and cluer to actually make this video with any authority. Compare this with anyone doing 2k speeds at zam (like, sub 6) or solo/duo HM rago speeds
I think the hardest part of elite clues is getting them. Even with scripture of bik I’m only getting mediums and hards :(
why cant we have something like runelite...and i dont mean alt 1
well trying to label it or anything as hardest content in game is misleading to be honest.. yea sure it takes lot of efforts and skills to master but anyone with the requirements can do an elite clue scroll.. also you could say the same about pvm easy to get 1 kill on some boss how about 20 in 1 hour in gwd3 or raksha or any other end game boss for that matter... its easy to do but it takes lot of hours to master.. say something like 4k telos or 12k zammy solo not everyone can do it even if they have the requirements which makes it hard.. still dont think even that can be labelled as hardest content in game but it sure does come close
Very true, fully agree with you on this. My aim was simply to offer a lesser considered competitor to the very commonly praised PvM community. Personally find myself more impressed by the scroll rushers at the moment, hence this video existing. Both deserve huge props though!
Honestly, that's exactly what i was thinking. Also, not as hard to try to do these things on 180ms Brazilian ping 😂
Great video
Those are some impressive numbers! Glad you enjoyed it, y'all elite clue guys don't get enough credit
As someone who doesnt do clues but looking to get into them whats the easiest ways to get a lot of elites?
Last time I checked, the most efficient way was afking Abyssal Lords with a bik book active. Depending on your gear, just training any skill with consistent exp drops while using bik book is pretty great too, and super easy
How is it hard when 90% community uses hacks like alt 1?
I discussed this at length in the vid. It's still very hard, just in different ways!
@@BloodCovenRS should be banned then it will be hard.
i have 1382 elite clue scrolls in my bank.. Haven't done them for years cause I hate the scan locations... Takes forever. I do all the easy, med, hard & master ones. fuck elites.
i only do the elites my carrier is packed with every other tier lol
You're insane lol. Hopefully you're pulling some dyes for the efforts!
I don't think it's on the same level. I do think it requires a good amount of skill to do so many an hour but let's be honest alt1 takes 90% of the skill out of it. If it wasn't for alt1 I'd say it is much more difficult to be good at clues than pvm
Bro you like missed his entire premise he made for like 2 minutes. Pay attention man!
I actually covered this at around 8 mins into the video! I find alt1 introduced new ways to express skill, but did defs reduce skill expression in other areas
im an osrs player and this just popped up, this look absolutly horrible. i wanna grind it now :)
This video made me sub, guy is funny ash 🤣
Sounds unbelievably easy...
put your money where your mouth is and upload you doing elites for an hour then
Meh they're not hard at all, they're just time consuming especially for mobile players. That's it, if you get clue steps with 3+ wizards it's ez clap.
i honestly wished they would make a overhaul of elites and change it so they have a few emote steps etc to simullar to masters, also i do not feel elite clues is hard and i dont even use alt1. never have and im not planing to do it any time soon.
Great video, just please talk slower lol🤣
trash activity due to the ability to just buy skip tickets ("top" clue scrollers use skip tickets) and needing to use alt 1 to do them as fast as possible. 3rd party is trash. whole experience is trash.
Some top scrollers do, most do not due to the puzzle skips making scrolls a massive loss per hour. Alt1 is very balanced given how much of a fuck around Elites are, even with Alt1 assistance...but each to their own ig
After doing clues/puzzles for two years im almost as fast as alt1 on standard settings
@@Phillyhurts yeah but if you’re not doing at least .25 on alt1 you’re going slow lol
aren't you the guy who got ban from the competitive league scene because u posted pics of your gf online? You're trash mate.
Trash
Pking is by far the hardest thing to master as even the best players in the game in tribrid have lots of room to improve pvm has patterns you can learn players do not
Pking is in a weird spot imo. I actually thought about pking a bit before this video, but given you can almost guaranteed 1 hit ppl with a death guard spec and pking in RS3 is basically completely dead, I thought it wouldn't be fair to give it the title for now.
I’m talking about 07… rs3 is zoggy shit
@@1tickjamal True, I can't think of any harder content than "I hope my spec weapon hits high or I'm a wet noodle."
@@RockBandRS so much more to pking than rng
The hardest part about rs3 is getting over the fact you're playing such a shit game like rs3
Why are you watching this video?
Let me guess.... you play OSRS?
