    I did the same thing with the AirFly Pro and the headphone output of a UA Volt 476 audio interface and it worked fine except there is a visible audio lag if you watch a video. And if you plug an instrument into the input, the lag makes it impossible to play, even when monitoring the input directly before it goes to the computer.

    Thanks for the sharing! I am thinking about plug the Airfly Pro to my overhead projector, and wanna ask about the following:
    1. Does it keep functioning when charging power?
    2. With tx mode, is there time lag between image (from projector) and sound (in Bluetooth headphones)?
    3. If my Bluetooth earphone is connected to other devices, how to switch the connection to Airfly? Do I have to press buttons on Airfly to do that every time?
    4. If two pairs of earphones are connected to one Airfly pro, can the sound volume of each pair of earphone can be adjusted separately?
    5. If the Airfly pro has already paired with two headphones, and I want to pair another one (to replace an existing one), how to do that? And which one of the two is to be replaced?
    Thanks!

    I've heard people say that a lot of these types of things are in mono. Is that guy transmitting in stereo? And how about latency? Is there any of that? I need something to be able to move around while recording solo in my studio.

    Hey Ryan and anyone that used these before. Can the apron be plugged into a 2 way radio VOX headset port and it the send and receive signal to the headphones and from the mic when you talk? Wanking to use it to connect a set of Bluetooth Headset with mic for use when riding my motorcycle to talk between radios hands free.. I already own the radios so don’t want to spend the big money on another pair made specifically for that. Thanks in advance.

    I ended up forcing myself into one of these, I’m an iPod nerd and love rocking one. I got a new(old) truck and upgraded the radio. This radio only has a USB port and no AUX port. When I hook the iPod into the USB port the iPod thinks it’s a computer instead of music capable dock :/. So it try’s to sync. This is seemingly my next best option. Fiio makes some really good receivers but I don’t think they transmit.

    Thanks for the review. Look, i assume you didnt hear any significant background noise when plug into the focusrite right? I´ve got one of those cheaper chinese ones (i believe they are all chinese in the end) and i saw 2 main issues. The first one is that doesnt connect to earbuds. I just got a Sony Headphone and connected immediatly, and a big however, the background noise was horrible, kind of static noise. i even moved the transmitter out of close range with my other devices such telefone and computer and still the same. would be interested to see your view on this. thanks a lot

    Thanks for this video. I'm having latency issues with a similar setup, though: guitar > Focusrite scarlett solo input > guitar rig > processed output > headphones. I bought the airfly pro hoping to remove the headphones cable from my guitar strings but when I connect it to the interface's output it causes enough latency to make it unusable (I calculate around 300ms). The issue exactly is with the processed output. The guitar signal gets fine to guitar rig. Also fine are other sounds not coming from the input (guitar rig's metronome, e.g.).
    Have you experienced similar latency issues when using your interfaces' input and the airfly connected to the output at the same time? Any advice?

    • @RyanKnowsNothing
      @RyanKnowsNothing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have. It sounds like there is going to be latency from all sorts of places in that setup. Most of which will come from the air fly pro I believe. I think I say it in the video, but I am not using them to do critical listening, which I should have clarified also includes video sync because of the latency.
      It seems like there shouldn’t be much just because TwelveSouth’s biggest marketing has been for use on airplanes where sync with video can’t be an issue for a good experience.
      Have you tried bypassing each stage to see if the latency is coming from the Airflys? That might help narrow it down.

    I have both of those exact same headphones and am looking for something like this to broadcast to both simultaneously without lag (i.e. I can just plug in to the TV and have 2 people listen to the same show without any lag). Your video isn't clear on this - have you tried that? Thanks for a great video! :-)

    • @RyanKnowsNothing
      @RyanKnowsNothing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did try both at the same time and it worked very well coming from a headphone jack on the interface, so theoretically any headphone jack would work the same way. What I ran into with further testing is that it has a built in kind of threshold where if it drops below that it cuts the audio. So when I was listening to low level background music it would softly cut out if the music got too quiet. They said they are aware of it and don't know what is causing it, but that it is on random units, so if you get one, you may not experience the same thing.

I had the Delta monitor cranked at max, just to get decent sound. When I used the same headphones wired into the monitor, I typically have to go below 50% volume. I also have the AFP paired with Sony but I have yet to try them and thought the issue might be Shure's bluetooth set up as the headphones were never designed to be wireless. I don’t think so. I believe it just transmits and receives stereo signals. No mic signals.

      It should, yes. But only the Pro has the transmit and receive I believe.

    Hi friend. good review. Is this gadget compatible with iPod nano 6gen?

      Yes it is! Anything with a headphone jack. You’d probably be good with the Classic or the Duo.

    Is there any latency with the sound? I've tried other transmitters got my guitar amplifier and found the latency on the output unbearable.

    • @RyanKnowsNothing
      @RyanKnowsNothing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, there is latency for sure. I wouldn't use it for super critical listening or live instruments. Unfortunately you still have to invest in the actual UHF wireless monitor systems to get real time audio.

      @@jirkadolezal8127 I use Airpods Pro with mine. I actually ended up sending mine back for a different reason. Awesome product, but it was muting the audio when the music would get quiet. Have you tried contacting their tech support? They were very helpful.

    The only thing they have is ability to transmit to 2 devices. Other than that is grossly overpriced

    • @RyanKnowsNothing
      @RyanKnowsNothing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can also use it as a Bluetooth receiver and plug it into any aux port. I’m not sure of too many other consumer grape products that can do that.

    • @TA-op3vn
      @TA-op3vn 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please understand, I have nothing against your review. In fact it was good and detailed. Im talking about the item itself. If I was gonna use it as Bluetooth transmitter for single person, there are many option that cost quarter of that price. The only good outcome is that its transmitting to more then one person.
